Lahj: Women's Committee in al-Qabaita district commemorates day of guardianship

The Women's Committee in al-Qabaita district of Lahj governorat organized a speech event on Saturday to commemorate the Day of Guardianship of Imam Ali (peace be upon him), under the slogan "The Principle of Guardianship: A Path of Light and Victory."
Participants' speeches emphasized the Yemeni people's close connection to this occasion, given its significant strength in confronting Jews and Christians. The participants also emphasized the importance of instilling a culture of guardianship, correcting the path of the nation, confronting enemies, and defending the religion and Islamic sanctities.
They indicated that adherence to the guardianship of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) is a practical response to the hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him and his family): "Whoever I am his guardian, then this Ali is his guardian. O God, befriend whoever befriends him, be hostile to whoever is hostile to him, support whoever supports him, and let down whoever lets him down."
The participants addressed the importance of commemorating the Day of Ghadir as an important educational and faith-based event, drawing lessons and morals from the stances and heroism of Imam Ali (peace be upon him), and his pioneering jihadist role in defending God's religion and confronting injustice and tyranny.

Without sustained aid, she cautioned, 6 million more could face emergency food insecurity. Despite challenges, Msuya highlighted progress. A critical Aden-Sana'a road reopened after seven years, for instance, and the EU pledged €80 million in humanitarian funding. Operations, however, are hamstrung by funding gaps. She emphasized: 'Humanitarians are clearly doing their best, but our response falls short of what Yemen needs.' The ongoing conflict began in 2015 between the Yemeni government forces and the Houthi rebels, and the conflict has left many citizens homeless and in desperate need of assistance. It has been estimated that nearly 4.5 million Yemenis have been displaced, and the country as a whole is at risk of collapsing. The UN Security Council previously voted to extend its full support to monitor the operations in Yemen through the UN Mission to Support the Hudaydah Agreement, the validity of which lasts until July 14, 2025.
