Jake Paul rage-quits Piers Morgan interview after profanity-laced, insult-laden tantrum

New York Post7 hours ago

Jake Paul wasn't in the mood to chat.
The Youtuber-turned-boxer sat down for a video interview with Piers Morgan on Thursday ahead of his fight with Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. and things got heated quickly.
The 'Uncensored With Piers Morgan' host targeted Paul for taking on Mike Tyson last year, who is 'nearly as old as me,' and cherry-picking his fights.
'The only proper boxer you've fought is Tommy Fury, and he beat you,' Morgan said.

The 28-year-old rebutted by saying he fought 'multiple boxers with professional records.'
Morgan added that against 'peak Tyson, you wouldn't have lasted 10 seconds.'
Things quickly devolved with Paul turning to name-calling.
'OK, and you versus the gym?' responded the YouTuber. 'You're still a fata–… You don't think I can beat Mike Tyson, I don't think you go to the gym.'

'I've been twice this week!' Morgan retorted, who added that he expected Paul to lose to a 'proper serious' boxer in Chavez.
'I think the problem here, Piers, is that you think your opinion matters,' Paul said. 'I'm just taking your audience to sell pay-per-views, I don't give a f–k about your show, dumbass, this is a f–king business enterprise.'

And with that, Paul rage-quit the interview, causing Morgan to laugh.
'Cheers, Jake. Really enjoyed that,' he said.
How many pay-per-views Paul managed to score for DAZN via the sitdown remains to be seen with the cruiserweight bout scheduled for Saturday night at the Honda Center.

He does view the 39-year-old Chavez as the most challenging fight of his still young career, though.
'I would say Chavez is most likely going to be the toughest opponent (I have faced yet), the most experienced, literally the most amount of fights out of all of my opponents,' Paul told DAZN Boxing.
He enters the fight with an 11-1 professional mark to Chavez's 54-6-1 (34 KOs) record.

Jake Paul drops $39 million on Georgia's iconic Southlands ranch

Professional boxer, social media influencer and content creator Jake Paul has bought the sprawling Southlands property just south of Bainbridge, Georgia, for $39 million. Paul, during an interview on the "The Iced Coffee Hour" podcast in mid-June, said he's been wanting to purchase a ranch for the last 15 years, according to 'It's kind of been my dream and why I work so hard," said Paul. He added the 5,746-acre estate was '… a little bit bigger than what I wanted, but when I got there, I was like, 'I have to buy this.' ' Paul, 28, is known for his brash commentary on YouTube and other social media platforms and co-stars alongside his brother, Logan Paul, in "Paul American," a reality show that premiered in March 2025 and offers a peek into their family life outside of the boxing and wrestling ring. Logan Paul is a pro wrestler and social media maven. More celebrity real estate: NBA star Kevin Durant's custom Oklahoma City townhome hits the market at $35 In November 2024, Paul went head-to-head against former heavyweight champion Mike Tyson, 58, and defeated the veteran fighter in a unanimous decision. He was initially slated to receive $40 million for beating the retired boxer. The 5,653-acre property surrounds the eastern shore of Lake Seminole, just above the Florida panhandle, and was listed in October 2024 for $42.5 million. It features a "sport huntsman's paradise with an abundance of bobwhite wild quail, turkey and whitetail deer. It also includes a 20-acre fishing pond and a 30-acre duck pond," as previously reported in the Tallahassee Democrat, part of the USA TODAY Network. Jon Kohler, an expert in large plantation properties in the southeast, said there are few investments that can build "long-term wealth like owning a property such as Southlands." "While we can see the financial appreciation, what only the seller can measure is the immense intrinsic value – the lifestyle, the experiences, the memories. That's the most important kind of wealth. And that's what Southlands will create for Jake, his family, and his friends," said Kohler, in a statement. In a Facebook post announcing the purchase, Kohler described the property as "one of America's most iconic sporting properties." "From its roots with Herbert Stoddard, a legacy dating back to 1937, to its years as International Paper's flagship property, Southlands has long been a crown jewel of American land stewardship – and with Jake Paul's passion and commitment to conservation, its future has never been brighter," the post said. Jake Paul vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Odds, Picks: Paul Heavily Favored

Based on facts, either observed and verified firsthand by the reporter, or reported and verified from knowledgeable sources. Newsweek AI is in beta. Translations may contain inaccuracies—please refer to the original content. Jake Paul steps back into the ring on Saturday night for another showdown with a former boxing champ. This time, the 28-year-old Paul is taking on 39-year-old former middleweight champ Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in a 10-round, cruiserweight (max. 200 pounds) bout. The son of boxing legend Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. is much younger than Paul's last opponent -- 58-year-old Mike Tyson -- but he has fought just three times since 2021. Will Paul be able to improve his record to 12-1 (his only loss came against Tommy Fury in 2023), or will Chavez Jr. become the second fighter to take down the influencer-turned-boxer? How To Watch Jake Paul vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Before we dive into how to bet on this fight, here's everything you need to know about how to watch Jake Paul vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr.: Date: Saturday, June 28 Time: Main card starts at 8 p.m. ET TV: DAZN (PPV)* *In the U.S., the PPV cost for this fight is $59.99. Jake Paul vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Odds Below are the odds for Saturday night's fight, with Paul heavily favored. DK FD bet365 Jake Paul -575 -550 -650 Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. +400 +420 +425 Chavez Jr. has legit pedigree as a former champ, but he has struggled to make weight for his scheduled fights over the last four years, which has limited him to three bouts since 2021. It's worth noting that at DraftKings, this fight is listed at -225 to go over 8.5 rounds and +160 to go under. This tells us that a full 10-round battle decided via decision is far more likely than an early knockout. Jake Paul vs. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Analysis Paul's status as the heavy favorite over a former champ like Chavez Jr. might be a head-scratcher at first glance, but it makes sense given what we've seen from Chavez Jr. the last few years. In 2021, he lost to then-46-year-old former UFC fighter Anderson Silva. And in his last bout (July 20, 2024), he got the win by unanimous decision, but he was taken the distance by former UFCer Uriah Hall, who was making his boxing debut. Paul should have a size/physique advantage over Chavez, as he is accustomed to fighting at around 200 pounds, which is the limit for tonight's bout. Chavez, on the other hand, has typically fought at middleweight (max. 175 pounds), where he held the title back in 2012. Paul vs. Chavez Prediction, Best Bet As crazy as it may sound to say about an influencer-turned-pro-boxer taking on a former world champ, Paul is the clear safe bet against a 39-year-old who has had a volatile last few years (Chavez has recently battled well-documented weight problems and addiction issues). Oddsmakers agree, with Chavez listed as a heavy underdog across the board. It's not exactly a massive compliment to say that Paul has proven that against fighters a decade removed from their peak, he's going to have the upper hand. Until he lines up a bout with an active fighter close to his age and weight, I do recommend betting on Paul, though. In this one, there's little value in taking him on the moneyline, but Jake Paul by Decision or Technical Decision is awfully tempting at -110.
