LOS ANGELES - A woman who was walking to work in downtown Los Angeles got ambushed by a group of people from an unmarked car, according to her attorney.
What we know
Attorneys Gregory Russell and Luis Carrillo spoke on 32-year-old Andrea Velez's behalf in recalling the traumatic event.
Velez ended up getting detained in downtown Los Angeles on Tuesday, June 24. Carrillo accused the Los Angeles Police Department of not saving Velez when the American citizen got ambushed by the alleged agents.
"[Velez] ran to the LAPD," Carrillo recalled. "The officers… didn't give her any protection. They let the ICE people take her away."
The LAPD has since said the department doesn't get involved with immigration operations, and their job focuses more on providing crowd control.
Velez has since been released on bond, but was charged with "obstructing an ICE officer."

Ravens Icon Justin Tucker's Agent Speaks Out On Major NFL Announcement

Ravens Icon Justin Tucker's Agent Speaks Out On Major NFL Announcement originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Baltimore Ravens finally made the decision, as kicker Justin Tucker was accused of sexual misconduct by several Baltimore-area massage therapists, to release the iconic All-Pro. Advertisement Now, the NFL has announced Tucker's punishment - and Tucker's side isn't very happy about it. Tucker, 35, is suspended without pay for the first 10 weeks of the 2025 season for violating the NFL's personal conduct policy. In response, the following statement has been released by Tucker's representative Rob Roche ... "We are disappointed with the NFL's decision. Justin has always strived to carry himself in a way that would make his family and community proud. He stands by his previous statements. In order to put this difficult episode behind him and get back on the field as soon as possible, we have advised Justin to accept this resolution and close this matter. Advertisement "The people who know Justin best know his character and understand that while he remains fully committed to excellence as a football player, he is deeply dedicated to his most important lifetime roles as a father, husband, and friend.' In the league's press release, the suspension will take effect on roster cut day, August 26 and he will be eligible for reinstatement on November 11. Tucker is currently still a free agent. If he were to be signed by a team, he is able to serve his suspension under contract. He is able to communicate and try out for a club, and if he is signed, is able to attend training camp this offseason. Advertisement Six massage therapists have come forward, accusing Tucker of inappropriate behavior during sessions that took place between 2012 and 2016. The allegations include claims that Tucker exposed himself, made inappropriate contact, and left bodily fluids on massage tables. After the investigation had gotten underway, Tucker released a statement to address the allegations. "The allegations against me in The Baltimore Banner article about me are unequivocally false. Throughout my career as a professional athlete, I have always sought to conduct myself with the utmost professionalism," said Tucker. "I have never before been accused of misconduct of any kind, and I have never been accused of acting inappropriately in front of a massage therapist or during a massage therapy session or during other bodywork. I have never received any complaints from a massage therapist, have never been dismissed from a massage therapy or bodywork session, and have never been told that I was not welcome at any spa or other place of business." Advertisement Tucker - maybe the best kicker of his generation - is coming off the worst year of his career. He made a disastrous 73.3 percent of his field goal attempts (especially compared to his all-time best career average of 89.1 percent). He also missed more field goals between 40 and 49 yards than he had in any other season. With the 10th pick of the sixth round of the NFL Draft, the Ravens took Arizona kicker Tyler Loop, who has the inside track to be Tucker's replacement this season. Accusers Applaud NFL's Investigation of Justin Tucker

Accusers Applaud NFL's Investigation of Justin Tucker originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Former Baltimore Ravens and Texas Longhorns kicker Justin Tucker accepted a 10-game suspension rather than attempt to defend himself in a hearing. Advertisement And that seemingly might've been the best course of action for him. The NFL concluded its investigation of the sexual misconduct accusations from 16 women by Tucker between 2012-16, and the evidence might've been overwhelming. We'll never know. What we do know is that it warranted a 10-game suspension that Tucker didn't even blink over. Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reported that attorneys Michael Belsky and Catherine Dickinson praised the NFL's investigation as a whole, saying it was "incredibly thorough and thoughtful" in their press conference on Friday. The NFL reportedly interviewed 15 of the 16 accusers. Advertisement 'There was an opening here for an early discussion between Mr. Tucker and the victims and the NFL,' Belsky said. 'There was a way that this could have happened and gone down in a way that was different than how it did. Unfortunately, Mr. Tucker dug in with his denials, and we are where we are today.' NBC Sports reported that "The NFL's 'decision' wasn't to suspend Tucker 10 games. It was to propose (presumably) a longer suspension if the process played out and to offer Tucker a 10-game suspension. It was Tucker's 'decision' to accept the 10-game suspension." It was by recommendation by Tucker's attorney, Rob Roche, that he accepted the punishment. 'In order to put this difficult episode behind him and get back on the field as soon as possible, we have advised Justin to accept this resolution and close this matter,' Roche said. 'The people who know Justin best know his character and understand that while he remains fully committed to excellence as a football player, he is deeply dedicated to his most important lifetime roles as a father, husband, and friend.'
