Justin Bieber travels abroad to finish long-awaited album, first since 2021's "Justice"
Pop superstar Justin Bieber is nearing completion of his highly anticipated new album, his first major release since 2021's Justice.
Sources confirm to The Hollywood Reporter that Bieber is traveling abroad, possibly to a Nordic country, to find inspiration and "vibe out" with a team of musical collaborators.
Bieber has been deeply immersed in music creation at his Los Angeles home, hosting jam sessions with longtime associates such as DJ Tay James, musical director HARV, and producer Carter Lang. Rising talents, including U.K. singer-songwriter Sekou and producer Dylan Wiggins, have also contributed to the project. Bieber has reportedly discovered several new collaborators through social media, inviting them to join the album's creative process.
Despite no official comment from Bieber's representatives, insiders say he is in "great spirits" and eager to craft music that reflects his current artistic vision. A trip to a remote and colder destination, reminiscent of his past getaways like Aspen, fits his pattern for creative retreats.
The new album comes at a crucial time, as Bieber's recording deal with Def Jam Records, a subsidiary of Universal Music Group, requires four more albums. Since debuting in 2009, Bieber has sold approximately 24 million albums in the U.S., with multiple billion-stream hits on Spotify and eight No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100.
This project also marks a new chapter for Bieber following his professional split from longtime manager Scooter Braun.

Pusha T and Malice pay seven figures to exit Def Jam and sign with Roc Nation
Pusha T and Malice, known collectively as Clipse, have exited their deal with Def Jam Records after paying a substantial seven-figure buyout, according to manager Steven Victor in an interview with Billboard published on June 3, 2025. Victor explained that the departure followed creative tensions between Clipse and Def Jam's parent company, UMG, particularly over an upcoming track with Kendrick Lamar. 'They didn't drop us,' Victor said. 'They were like, 'Pay us this money'—an exorbitant amount—and we'll let you out of the deal.' He emphasized that it was a large sum for any artist to afford, but said, 'Insane… but doable… so it got done.' The conflict traces back to Pusha T's high-profile feud with Drake in 2018. Since then, Victor claims, the label has tried to censor Push's verses, including removing lyrics from collaborations with Rick Ross and Pop Smoke. The label reportedly repeated that approach with Clipse's upcoming Lamar collaboration, "Chains & Whips," objecting to a line they deemed controversial. Victor said, 'We're not going to ask [Kendrick] to change the verse. You guys are wrong.' Following the standoff, Victor quickly reached out to JAY-Z, who responded within hours. 'You just made my day,' JAY-Z reportedly told Victor, before offering a new artist-friendly deal through Roc Nation that included ownership of their masters. The entire agreement was finalized within 24 hours. Pusha T now owns his previously released music under Mass Appeal and G.O.O.D. Music. Despite personal tensions, he recently thanked Kanye West for returning his masters. Under Roc Nation Distribution, Clipse's new album Let God Sort Em Out is set to release on July 11.

Ryan Coogler addresses future of Sinners after massive box office success
Director Ryan Coogler has confirmed that he will not create a sequel to Sinners, his critically acclaimed vampire thriller that has been a box office success in 2025. Despite its popularity and financial performance, Coogler emphasized that he always intended Sinners to be a standalone film. The supernatural drama starred Michael B. Jordan in a dual role as vampire twins and was praised for its original storytelling and genre-bending direction. It became the only original title to break into the top 10 highest-grossing films of the year, solidifying its impact without needing franchise backing. In a recent interview with Ebony, Coogler explained his decision: 'I've been in a space of making franchise films for a bit, so I wanted to get away from that… I was looking forward to delivering something original and personal.' He added that he wanted Sinners to feel like 'a full meal'—complete and self-contained, with no cliffhangers or need for continuation. Coogler's directorial journey began with Fruitvale Station in 2013, followed by major successes like Creed, Black Panther, and Wakanda Forever. While those films expanded into franchises, Sinners represents a return to his indie roots and creative freedom. Looking ahead, Coogler is working on Wrong Answer, another collaboration with Jordan, and the Disney+ spinoff series Eyes of Wakanda. He's also expected to return for Black Panther 3, according to The Hollywood Reporter. For now, Sinners continues to draw audiences in theaters—with no sequel planned, just as Coogler envisioned.

Did Hailey Bieber sell Rhode Beauty to help Justin Bieber amid financial troubles?
Hailey Bieber is nearing billionaire status following the sale of her skincare brand, Rhode, to e.l.f. Beauty in a deal valued at up to $1 billion. Founded in 2022, Rhode quickly became known for its minimalist skincare offerings, with viral hits like peptide lip treatments and blushes. As of March, the brand reported over $200 million in net sales. Although Rhode was on an upward trajectory, the timing of the sale raised questions among fans, who speculated that Hailey may have acted in response to her husband Justin Bieber's widely reported financial struggles. Some industry observers believe she could have expanded the brand further and sold it later at a higher valuation. However, e.l.f. Beauty CEO Tarang Amin praised Hailey's long-term vision, stating she prioritized sustainable brand growth over immediate profit. The acquisition terms include $800 million in cash and stock upfront, with an additional $200 million contingent on Rhode's performance over the next three years. Comparisons have been drawn to other celebrity brands, such as Selena Gomez's Rare Beauty, now valued at $2 billion. Reports suggest that Justin Bieber has faced financial pressure following the abrupt cancellation of his 2022 "Justice" world tour. He allegedly owes over $8 million to former manager Scooter Braun and up to $24 million to Hybe Corporation, which reportedly stepped in to cover tour-related debts after Bieber received a $40 million advance from promoter AEG. Though Bieber agreed to repay the amount over ten years, reports indicate he stopped after the first payment. Justin in so much debt he made her sell Rhode — Jawn (@jawnisaza) May 30, 2025 SHE FOR SURE SOLD RHODE TO PAY JUSTIN'S DEBT TO SCOOTER — carmen 💫 (@G00DF0RYOU) May 29, 2025 While fans speculate that Hailey's sale of Rhode may have been influenced by Justin's financial woes, it may also reflect her strategic business acumen. A recent NielsenIQ report shows celebrity beauty brands generated over $1 billion in sales last year, placing Rhode within a booming market. Hailey's financial standing, now estimated between $300 million and nearly $1 billion, may now eclipse that of her husband, positioning her among the ranks of celebrity entrepreneurs like Taylor Swift, Kim Kardashian, and Rihanna.
