
California American Water Proudly Recognizes American Water Charitable Foundation 2025 Water and Environment Grantees
SAN DIEGO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The American Water Charitable Foundation, a philanthropic non-profit organization established by American Water (NYSE: AWK), the largest regulated water and wastewater utility company in the U.S., recently announced 10 organizations were awarded a 2025 Water and Environment grant, totaling $157,900, supporting communities served by California American Water.
'Monterey Audubon is thrilled to receive grant funding from the American Water Charitable Foundation to further our work conserving birds through direct action in the community,' said Shannon Simpson, Executive Director of the Monterey Audubon Society, which was awarded a grant. 'Cal Am and Monterey Audubon share a common goal of protecting our local environment and the outdoor education program partnership with CHISPA really adds to the benefit.'
The Water and Environment grant is part of the American Water Charitable Foundation's Keep Communities Flowing Grant Program, focusing on three pillars of giving: Water, People and Communities.

Below is a list of 2025 grantees throughout California American Water's service communities.
Monterey Peninsula Audubon Society - Awarded $ 8,300 for its ADI Wings & Wonders Program in partnership with CHISPA Housing, providing outdoor education programs for youth.
Museum Foundation of Pacific Grove - $ 16,600 for the Educating the Next Generation of Environmentalists program to refresh conservation messaging in 'Changes' exhibit, including three new classroom kits for grades 3-5.
Nature Nexus Institute - Awarded $ 10,000 for its Ballona Creek Watershed Community Engagement program that educates students and local community about watershed health through hands-on habitat restoration activities.
Sacramento Splash - $ 15,000 for the Youth Environmental Leadership Camp (YELC), an environmental summer camp for 6th/7th graders to educate and help understand the value and protection of the outdoors.
North Coast Resource Conservation & Dev. Council - Awarded $ 25,000 for its Kids Creek Care: Conservation Action in Mark West Creek, an environmental education program promoting water conservation and biodiversity in Mark West Creek.
SLA Inc.- $ 20,000 for Planting Tomorrow: Trees for a Thriving El Monte. The program applies the funding toward planting trees to enhance community resilience.
American River Parkway Foundation - Awarded $23,000 for its Protect the Parkway Project 2025 trash clean-up events along the Lower American River Parkway.
Laguna De Santa Rosa Foundation - $ 25,000 for the Laguna Stewards Program that allows community members to engage in habitat restoration of the watershed through hands-on environmental education.
Extended Child Care Coalition of Sonoma County - Awarded $ 15,000 for its Water Conservation Project at Larkfield Garden & Learning Center to update and expand decade-old drip irrigation system and teach about water conservation.

Missouri American Water Proudly Recognizes American Water Charitable Foundation Hydration Station Grantees
ST. LOUIS, June 05, 2025--(BUSINESS WIRE)--The American Water Charitable Foundation, a philanthropic non-profit organization established by American Water (NYSE: AWK), the largest regulated water and wastewater utility company in the U.S., and Missouri American Water, announced today that the Foundation awarded $21,025 in Hydration Station grants to 11 organizations to help purchase bottle fillers and/or drinking fountains for sustainable and safe hydration in Missouri communities. "Accessible drinking water is a resource many take for granted," said Rich Svindland, president of Missouri American Water. "We are proud to offer an opportunity for community organizations to provide sustainable, accessible and healthy hydration for visitors and staff." Each day in the United States more than 60 million plastic water bottles end up in landfills and incinerators, according to the Container Recycling Institute. Hydration stations help reduce the number of single-use plastic bottles that end up in landfills and sources of drinking water. Funding for the hydration station grants will be provided by the American Water Charitable Foundation, as part of its State Strategic Grant Program, focused on high-impact projects and initiatives throughout American Water's national footprint.
