Contestants studied Puerto Rican history and culture before Eastern Connecticut pageant

The Miss Puerto Rico of Eastern Connecticut Cultural Pageant took place at Montville High School on May 3.
According to a community announcement, Boriken United of Eastern Connecticut Inc. hosted the event, marking its second annual pageant. Five judges evaluated contestants in four categories: traje tipico, talent, evening wear, and an onstage question.
Many family members and friends attended to support the participants. Queens from Miss Folklore and Miss Puerto Rico of Greater New Haven also attended. Contestants prepared for the event for over three months, participating in practices and cultural classes to learn about Puerto Rico's history and culture.
