
Mangaluru-Bengaluru day-time trains cancelled for 154 days due to electrification work
Some daytime train services between
Mangaluru
and
Bengaluru
will be suspended for 154 days starting June 1, due to railway electrification work in the Sakleshpur-Subrahmanya Road section, the
South Western Railway
said on Saturday. According to the notification, the train services that will remain cancelled are: Yeshvantpur-Mangaluru Gomateshwara Express (Saturdays) - from May 31 to November 1; Mangaluru-Yeshvantpur Weekly Express (Sundays) - from June 1 to November 2; Yeshvantpur-Mangaluru Tri-weekly Express (Tuesdays, Thursdays, Sundays) - from June 1 to August 30.
Other trains that are cancelled: Mangaluru-Yeshvantpur Tri-weekly Express (Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays) - from June 2 to August 31; Yeshvantpur-Karwar Tri-weekly Express (Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays) - from June 2 to October 31; and Karwar-Yeshvantpur Tri-weekly Express (Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays) - from June 3 to November 1.
Passenger associations and travel committees have expressed concern over the cancellation, citing a
lack of consultation
and the absence of alternative arrangements.
They have urged
railway authorities
to manage the work without disrupting public convenience.

Several trains short-terminated, cancelled to facilitate works
Five trains originating from or terminating at Visakhapatnam have been cancelled on June 2 and another on June 3 to facilitate the Pre-Non-Interlock & Non-Interlock works in the Rayagada-Vizianagaram section of Waltair Railway Division. The trains that have been cancelled on June 2 are 58538 Visakhapatnam-Koraput Passenger, 58537 Koraput- Visakhapatnam Passenger, 18512 Visakhapatnam-Koraput Bi-Weekly Express, 58528 Visakhapatnam- Raipur Passenger and 58527 Raipur- Visakhapatnam Passenger. Train no. 18511 Koraput- Visakhapatnam Bi-Weekly Express has been cancelled on June 3, according to K. Saandeep, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager. Meanwhile, train no. 17243 Guntur-Rayagada Express, scheduled to leave Guntur on June 1, will be short-terminated in Vizianagaram, and 17244 Rayagada-Guntur Express will leave from Vizianagaram instead of Rayagada on June 2. Rescheduled services Train no. 20830 Visakhapatnam-Durg Vande Bharat Express has been rescheduled and it will leave Visakhapatnam at 6.50 p.m. on June 2, instead of its scheduled departure at 2.50 p.m. Train number 20829 Durg - Visakhapatnam Vande Bharat Express has been rescheduled to leave Durg at 10.15 a.m. on June 2, instead of its scheduled departure at 5.45 a.m. Train no. 18190 Ernakulam-Tata Express, scheduled to leave Ernakulam on June 1 will leave at 10.15 a.m. instead of its scheduled departure at 7.15 a.m. Train no. 13352 Alappuzha-Dhanbad Express, scheduled to leave Alappuzha on June 1, will depart at 8 a.m., instead of its scheduled departure at 6 a.m. The railway authorities have urged the passengers to take a note of the changes and plan their journey accordingly.

Some trains cancelled due to electrification work
Following line block for facilitating safety-related and railway electrification work between Sakleshpur and Subrahmanya Road section, services of a few trains will remain cancelled from June 1 to 11, South Western Railway has in a release said. Accordingly, Train No 16539 Yesvantpur-Mangaluru Junction Weekly Express, running on Saturdays, will be cancelled from May 31 to November 1. Similarly, Train No 16540 Mangaluru Junction-Yesvantpur Weekly Express, operating on Sundays, will be cancelled from June 1 to November 2. Train No 16575 Yesvantpur-Mangaluru Junction Gomteshwara Tri-weekly Express, which runs on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Sundays, will remain cancelled from June 1 to October 30. Its pairing Train No 16576 Mangaluru-Yesvantpur Gomteshwara Tri-weekly Express, running on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, will remain cancelled from June 2 to October 31. Train No 16515 Yesvantpur-Karwar Tri-weekly Express, which operates on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, will remain cancelled from June 2 to October 31 and its return service, Train No 16516 Karwar-Yesvantpur Tri-weekly Express, running on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, will remain cancelled from June 3 to November 1, the release said.
