Sweden seeks EU sanctions targeting 'individual Israeli ministers'
Sweden's top diplomat said Tuesday that the Nordic country would work within the EU to push for sanctions against certain Israeli ministers over Israel's treatment of civilian Palestinians in Gaza.
"Since we do not see a clear improvement for the civilians in Gaza, we need to raise the tone further. We will therefore now also push for EU sanctions against individual Israeli ministers," Foreign Minister Maria Malmer Stenergard said in a statement to AFP, adding that the officials targeted would be the subject of discussions within the EU.

Lebanese FM condemns Israeli strikes on Thursday night
Lebanese Foreign Minister Youssef Rajji extended Eid al-Adha greetings to all Lebanese, and especially to the Muslim community, expressing hope that the occasion would serve as a lasting inspiration for sacrifice in the service of Lebanon. France opens 'complicity in genocide' probe over blocked Gaza aid
French anti-terror prosecutors have opened a probe into "complicity in genocide" and "incitement to genocide" over French-Israelis suspected of having blocked aid intended for war-torn Gaza, a source close to the case said Friday. The investigation comes after the Jewish French Union for Peace (UFJP) and a French-Palestinian victim filed a legal complaint in November, leveling accusations of "organizing, participating in and calling for the participation in concrete activities to block humanitarian aid" for Gaza, "including physically preventing the passage of trucks at border checkpoints controlled by the Israeli army."
