Arab Health 2025: New AI-powered tool that detects breast cancer early to be unveiled

Emirates Health Services (EHS) is set to unveil an innovative programme for the early detection of breast cancer using Artificial intelligence, as part of its participation in Arab Health 2025.
The tool was developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Health and Prevention. It complements traditional mammography and enhances early detection rates, significantly improving survival outcomes.
EHS will also be showcasing 19 innovative projects during the major healthcare event, 13 of which are being revealed for the first time either on the regional or the global scale.

Among other projects that will be introduced by EHS are the "Usrati Bundle" and "In-Utero Gene Editing" which was developed in collaboration with the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.
What is Arab Health 2025?
Arab Health is considered one of the largest healthcare exhibitions and conferences in the Middle East and globally.
The 50th edition of the annual healthcare event kicks off on Monday and runs until January 30 at Dubai's World Trade Centre.
Held under the theme 'Where the world of healthcare meets", it will bring together over 3,800 exhibitors and welcome more than 60,000 visitors, providing a unique platform for innovation, collaboration, and education in healthcare.
This year's Arab Health will host more than 40 country pavilions, with exhibitors representing over 80 countries in total, covering the Middle East, the US, Europe, Africa, and Asia.
The UAE will be represented by over 200 companies, showcasing the latest innovations across nine product sectors, ranging from medical equipment and devices to imaging and diagnostics, as well as wellness and prevention.

The ceremony was attended by Khawla Al Haj, Chairperson of the Friends for Diabetes Society, Iman Rashid Saif, Director General of the Health Promotion Department, along with several government officials and principals from participating schools. Now in its 13th edition, the program ran throughout the academic year starting from September 2024. It witnessed remarkable engagement from students, parents, and educators, with participation from 70 public and private schools across various regions of Sharjah, benefiting over 55,601 students. A total of 1,642 educational workshops were conducted within schools to promote health awareness, in addition to several health exhibitions, school visits, and awareness competitions. A total of 205 creative works, demonstrating students' understanding of diabetes, were submitted and evaluated by specialized assessors. On this occasion, Khawla Al Haj, Chairperson of the Friends for Diabetes Society stated: "'The Superhero' program is not just an initiative—it's a social and humanitarian message highlighting that true heroism lies in awareness, acceptance, and support. Through this program, we aimed to empower children with diabetes and foster a culture of prevention and inclusion within the school environment. The overwhelming engagement we witnessed from students, their families and educators, confirms that investing in awareness is an investment in a healthier and safer future." The event concluded with the honoring of 51 winning students and 12 participating schools, in recognition of their creativity and excellence across the program's activities. The ceremony reflected a strong sense of community involvement and fruitful collaboration between the health and education sectors.

In its thirteenth year, the program ran throughout the school year, starting in September 2024. It engaged students, parents, and teachers, with participation from seventy public and private schools in Sharjah. Over 55,600 students benefited from this program. To promote healthy living, the association organized 1,642 workshops in schools, along with health exhibitions, field trips, and fun awareness competitions. Students showcased their understanding of diabetes through 205 creative projects, which were evaluated by experts. Khawla Al Haj stated that the 'Superhero' program aims to promote awareness, acceptance, and support for children with diabetes. Its goal is to empower children while fostering a culture of prevention and inclusion in the school environment. The program has received positive feedback from students, families, and teachers, indicating that raising awareness can contribute to a healthier and safer future. The ceremony wrapped up by honoring 51 outstanding students and 12 schools that took part in the program. The University Hospital clinic also provided medical check-ups, particularly for individuals with diabetes and hypertension, as well as health advice to pilgrims to safeguard their safety throughout Hajj. Religious focus The religious part, delivered by the Department of Islamic Affairs, included a thorough explanation of the Hajj ceremonies. Participants learnt about Hajj's teachings, virtues, requirements, and pillars. The Department of Islamic Affairs provided a detailed review of the pilgrimage protocols, along with preparation guidance, common mistakes to avoid, and responses to personal questions. Health focus The health component was overseen by medical professionals from Emirates Health Services, who provided preventive advice to avoid any health difficulties during the Hajj. They concentrated on managing chronic conditions such as diabetes and hypertension, preventing infectious diseases, dealing with high temperatures, maintaining good nutrition, and emphasising the significance of immunisations and medical preparedness. Awareness programmes The government verified that this session is part of a larger public awareness effort for this year's Hajj season. It consists of rigorous seminars and educational sessions, printed materials, and religious lessons in Sharjah mosques on the virtues of the first ten days of Dhul Hijjah. Outreach initiatives at the airport and homes To assist people who were unable to attend the seminars, the department sent preachers to Sharjah International Airport's departure hall to answer questions and give guidance packages. It also arranges house visits for older pilgrims ravelling through Sharjah campaigns, where representatives answer questions and provide accurate explanations of Hajj rituals.
