Turnstile have released two new songs, 'Seein' Stars' and 'Birds,' from their upcoming album, NEVER ENOUGH, along with a seamless music video for both tracks.
The double single showcases the two sides of the band's sound. 'Seein' Stars' is the softer pop song, with guest vocals from some well-known singers — Devonté Hynes (Blood Orange) and Hayley Williams (Paramore) — and a disco-esque guitar riff that conjures up David Bowie's 'Let's Dance.'

Meanwhile, 'Birds' is a two-minute sprint that sees Turnstile in full mosh mode — a reminder they can still dish out some potent hardcore.
The accompanying music video, directed by singer Brendan Yates and guitarist Pat McCrory, artfully bridges the disparate tracks like a short film. The clip for 'Seein' Stars' is appropriately more lilting and chill, whereas the 'Birds' portion is an energetic performance video, albeit with some stylized cinematography — particularly during the drum solo that bridges the two songs.
We've now heard three singles from NEVER ENOUGH following the release of the title track earlier this month — a Heavy Song of the Week selection. The highly anticipated LP marks Turnstile's first album with new guitarist Meg Mills, with the rest of the lineup rounded out by Yates, McCrory, bassist Franz Lyons, and drummer Daniel Fang.
So far, no headlining US tour dates have been announced in support of the album's release, although Turnstile have several European and UK festivals lined up for June, followed by the Ottawa Blues Festival in July and the Aftershock festival in Sacramento in October. Get tickets here.

Mexican regional act Grupo Firme have pulled out of their scheduled appearance at the La Onda Festival this weekend after their visas were unexpectedly suspended. The performance was set to take place on Sunday (June 1st) in Napa Valley, CA. The band said their visas are 'under administrative review by the U.S. Embassy,' per an Instagram statement obtained by the Associated Press, and stated it would be 'impossible' to stage their show. Due to the confidential nature of visa proceedings, the AP also corroborated the U.S. Embassy in Mexico could not provide any additional information at this time. Grupo Firme isn't the only Mexican act facing visa issues as of late; last month, Julión Álvarez abruptly postponed a sold-out show in Arlington, TX, after his work visa was revoked, barring his entry into the States. Both acts are known for performing narco-corridos, a genre that has long stirred debate. While critics argue these songs glorify cartel leaders, supporters contend they offer a raw reflection of the difficult realities faced by youth entangled in the drug trade. Amid the growing controversy, Grupo Firme has taken steps in recent months to stop performing narco-corridos live. Beyond the targeting of Latino musicians, Canadian trans musician Bells Larsen had to cancel his US tour because 'US Immigration now only recognizes identification that corresponds with one's assigned sex at birth.' Meanwhile, FKA twigs faced setbacks for her 'Eusexua Tour' after not completing visa paperwork on time, rescheduling several US tour dates multiple times. UK Subs revealed they were denied entry to the United States, with bassist Alvin Gibbs hypothesizing it may have been due to his lambasting of Donald Trump. Alf Clausen, The Simpsons' Longtime Composer, Dead at 84

Alf Clausen, the longtime composer of The Simpsons who scored more than 560 episodes of the animated series, had died at the age of 84. Clausen died after a decade-long battle with Progressive Supernuclear Palsy (PSP). A two-time Emmy Award winner with 30 additional nominations, Clausen provided the music for The Simpsons for 27 years, composing a unique piece each week accompanied by a 35-piece orchestra. In a cost-cutting measure, Fox fired Clausen in 2017, leading the composer to sue the network for ageism and disability discrimination two years later. He later dropped the suit, and Simpsons producers recognized in later seasons as 'composer emeritus.' 'I think that's one of the reasons they've kept me all these years: they were looking for somebody who could score all those different types of music in small clip-form,' Clausen reflected in a 2017 interview with Consequence. 'That's what's been fun for me. I think that anyone else who would have been hired for this job and stayed for this long would have gone to the nuthouse.' Clausen also composed music for the television series ALF, and well contributed to films like The Naked Gun, Ferris Bueller's Day Off, and Weird Science.
