The tycoon's wealth skyrocketed this year with a massive £265m increase pushing him over the line to become a billionaire.
He is now among The Sunday Times Rich List's newest billionaires after only making it onto the list last year.
King, 58, is an Essex asylum hotel tycoon who made his impressive fortune through his company Clearsprings Ready Homes.
The company is paid by the home office to provide accommodation for asylum seekers.
It has a massive £1.7 billion turnover with King's firm raking in almost £4.8 million a day.
King now uses his wealth to fund a lavish lifestyle for him and his girlfriend and pursues his passion of amateur racing.
His fortune reached record highs alongside record high numbers of people claiming asylum in the UK.
The number of people claiming asylum climbed from 91,811 in 2023 to 108,138 last year, a record high.
The news comes just after PM Kier Starmer announced a crack down on immigration.
King once owned a caravan park and disco and grew up in Canvey Island, Essex.
Clearsprings recent contracts include one with the home office that runs until September 2029.

The huge success of King's company has seen his personal wealth skyrocket.
He is now officially a billionaire according to The Sunday Times Rich List.
Graham King first made it onto rich list last year, owning 99% of Clearsprings' shares.
His wealth has exploded since, catapulting him from the 221st spot on the list to the 154th.
Home Office contracts to house asylum seekers have been awarded mostly to three companies.
King's Clearsprings Ready Homes, Mears Group and Serco.
Clearsprings provides accommodation mostly in old military barracks, flats and hotels.
King, now officially a billionaire, launched his property empire in 1999.
He has made the news for the condition of his properties before with inspectors finding "failures of leadership and planning" in his operations.
Asylum seekers were housed by King's company in "decrepit" and "run down" barracks in Kent and Pembrokeshire.
King's already massive wealth rose 35% this year which and now sits at £1.015 billion.
For the fourth year in a row, Goji Hinduja and family have topped the Sunday Times Rich list, with the investors sharing a net worth of £35.304 billion.
The list reveals the country's 350 richest individuals who share a net worth of £772.8 billion, a three per cent decrease from last year.
They suffered a fall of £1.892 billion from last year's survey.
The minimum entry level for the list flatlines at £350 million.
This year's list marks the largest drop in billionaires in the guide's 37-year history, with just 156 making the list compared to its peak of 177 in 2022.
Other celebrities who made the list include Ellen Degeneres, Charlotte Tilbury, Ed Sheeran and Brewdog Founder James Watt.

Thank you, Keir Starmer, for telling Scots where our priorities lie
SUPPORT for independence is on the rise. The recent opinion poll by Norstat, published by The Sunday Times, found that 54% of those polled support independence, and that figure was arrived at after the pollster's sample was refracted through the increasingly indefensible methodological practice of weighting by the result of the 2014 independence referendum. With the 7% don't knows discounted, the raw data in the poll shows a stupendous 61.3% for Yes and just 38.7% for No. With more up to date 2025 demographic weighting, the poll would show 57.4% for Yes and the No vote on 42.6%. It seems that we are now at the point where even weighting polls by the outcome of 2014's referendum is not sufficient to turn an underlying Yes majority into a headline result giving No a lead. All that the practice does is to reduce the apparent size of the Yes majority. This is the same poll which reported that 58% of respondents would favour Scottish independence should Nigel Farage become the next UK prime minister. Without the 2014 weighting used by this polling company, that figure would certainly have been well in excess of 60% of Scots in favour of independence. However, Keir Starmer took time out of his busy schedule of avoiding the Hamilton, Larkhall, and Stonehouse Holyrood by election to go on BBC Scotland's Good Morning Scotland show to tell the people he refuses to meet face to face that he's not going to allow them to have another independence referendum, not even if the SNP win a majority in next year's Scottish Parliament elections. Asked about the issue of another independence referendum, Starmer said: "Nobody's raising that with me as their first priority." He added: "Certainly, in the discussions I'm having with the First Minister, we're talking about jobs, energy, security and dealing with the cost of living crisis." He continued: "I think it's really important to focus on the priorities that matter most. "We got a big election win last year on the basis that we would stabilise the economy and ensure that on that foundation we built a stronger Scotland in a stronger United Kingdom and that's what I intend to do." Well of course nobody is raising the issue of another independence referendum with Keir Starmer, he carefully insulates himself from anyone in Scotland who is not either a Labour Party member or supporter. If you lock yourself in the cellar and stuff your ears with cotton wool, no one is going to tell you that the house is on fire, but that doesn't mean it's not a priority. Why, thank you so much for telling us what our priorities are, Keir. And there we were labouring under the misapprehension that the whole point of this democracy lark was that the people tell politicians what the priorities are through the medium of the ballot box. Reacting to Starmer's comments, SNP MSP Keith Brown said: 'These comments are not remotely surprising – Keir Starmer has proven that he doesn't care what anyone thinks except Nigel Farage. "He visited Scotland yesterday and couldn't be bothered speaking to voters ahead of Thursday's crucial by-election. Independence is essential to tackling the cost of living, improving the economy and delivering more funding for our NHS." "Not only is Westminster control demonstrably making Scotland poorer – with Brexit and austerity damaging our economy and our living standards – but neighbouring independent countries similar to Scotland are all doing better than the UK. The evidence is staring us in the face. 'Support for independence is rising in Scotland, while support for Labour is collapsing. "We will continue building up a broad base of support for independence – in the election next year people in Scotland will have the chance to deliver their verdict on Westminster's contempt for Scottish democracy.' But it's not really surprising that Keir Starmer doesn't want to listen to the people of Scotland, despite their claims to the contrary, Scotland is and always has been a side-show to British politicians. Starmer and the other anti-independence parties are able to maintain the fiction that independence is not a priority due to polling which, aided by increasingly questionable methodological practices, continues to show a Scotland evenly divided on the independence issue. Yet with the looming threat of a far-right English nationalist party waiting in the wings and the slow march of demographic changes in Scotland, time is running out on this delaying tactic. The time is coming when the issue can no longer be ignored, and it's coming a lot sooner than Starmer might like. Farage doubles down on baseless claim For his part, Nigel Farage continues in the truly remarkable achievement of outdoing Starmer in the lies and duplicity stakes. Farage has doubled down on his baseless claim that the anti-independence newspaper The Herald tipped off the anti-racism protestors who besieged him in Aberdeen and Hamilton and told them his location. Farage has now claimed that The Herald had the "deliberate intention of trying to provoke violence and discomfort." Speaking to LBC on Tuesday, Farage was questioned about why he had hid from the media and protesters. He said: 'What a load of cobblers. I had 18 journalists in a room yesterday in Aberdeen and took questions from every single one of them. Keir Starmer would have taken three, Kemi would have taken two. No, absolute nonsense. 'What we did have yesterday, though, was a newspaper called The Herald in Scotland informing protest groups like Antifa where I was going to be with a deliberate intention of trying to provoke violence and discomfort. 'And so, yeah, did we give The Herald and others the slip and go and do campaigning in the streets, meeting normal people without a bunch of thugs with masks on? Yes."

Royal scare as man breaks into Windsor Castle while William and Kate at home
An intruder was quickly detained by police after he is said to have climbed over the wall to get into Windsor Castle on a day when the Prince and Princess of Wales were at home with their children near by An intruder sparked a royal security scare after they allegedly broke into the grounds of Windsor Castle. The man is said to have climbed over the wall to get in the castle grounds on Sunday before he was quickly detained by officers from the Metropolitan Police, which is responsible for security at the royal residence. A man in his 30s was then handed over to the local police force, Thames Valley, before being arrested on suspicion of tresspass and possession of a Class A drug. It has been reported that the Prince and Princess of Wales, were at their Adelaide Cottage home on the Windsor estate at the time with Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. However, as the intruder is said to have entered the grounds near Town Gate, it was some distance away from the royals' home. The man is also said to have not entered the inner buildings of Windsor Castle. A source told The Sun: "He broke into the castle near Town Gate and was quickly detained by police. It was a crazy thing to do and caused quite a stir but at this stage it appears there was no intent to cause any serious harm." A Met Police spokesperson said: "A man in his 30s has been arrested on suspicion of trespass on a protected site and possession of Class A drugs after entering restricted grounds at Windsor Castle. "Officers in the grounds spotted the man just after 13:00hrs on Sunday, 1 June and quickly arrested him. He was then passed into the custody of Thames Valley Police." Meanwhile, Thames Valley Police, said: "At just after 1pm on Sunday 1 June a man entered restricted grounds at Windsor Castle."He was quickly challenged by Met police officers and arrested. He did not enter the inner grounds of Windsor Castle. "He was arrested on suspicion of trespass on a secure site and possession of class A drugs. He has been bailed and an investigation is ongoing by Thames Valley Police." Just last year, the Prince and Princess of Wales suffered another terrifying security breach after masked intruders allegedly smashed down a barrier and scaled a six-foot fence to get access to the Windsor Castle estate. The two men allegedly broke into the estate during the night to steal farm vehicles before driving off in a pick-up truck and on a quad bike that had been stored in a barn on October 13. King Charles and Queen Camilla were not at the residence at the time, but William and Kate were believed to be sleeping at nearby Adelaide Cottage with their three children. Adelaide Cottage is nestled in the heart of the 655-acre Windsor estate and is extremely close to Windsor Caste. Developer behind El Gordo's hostel scheme speaks out
The call comes after Newport City Council granted an application to extend use of the hostel building. Permission was granted to convert unused areas of the building which last traded as El Gordo's. The expansion will give all 21 rooms the necessary services that are needed, according to Mr King, boss of Midpoint Homes. The expansion will provide communal areas and kitchens. Mr King expressed hope that 'a dilapidated old pub is going to be turned into a good building.' Mr King's comments follow concerns on social media, where people speculated about the hostel 's clients. The developer has talked of 'wild speculation' in the social media heat. 'This is positive for our community. I must stress that it will serve local people. Homelessness affects a lot of people here,' Mr King said. Recent investigations have shown that homelessness in Newport has increased dramatically in recent years. Newport has hundreds of households in temporary accommodation such as B & Bs. These are very expensive and often deliver poor results. Additionally, Newport has the highest number of rough sleepers in Wales. The problems with city homelessness were thrust into national headlines when Prince William and former Spice Girl, Geri Halliwell, visited Newport homeless charity, Homewards, in 2023. Mr King said he and his staff want to concentrate on using the planning permission to offer full services for clients and turn around the lives of vulnerable local people. He said the extension will provide many more facilities such as a kitchen and a communal area and a 'much more comfortable life for those that have, through no fault of their own, fallen into homelessness.' He added that one of the disappointing aspects of the social media speculation is that he is a remote figure from London who is developing properties in Wales. 'My family is Welsh and I live here. Nevertheless, we can all move on from this.' The former public house is situated on Caerleon's Ponthir Road and has been subject to countless planning applications and name changes in recent years. The successful application also includes a small number of houses to be built adjacent to the Roman Lodge site, which is still its official name. 'We are looking forward to building strong, respectful relationships and hope to be warmly welcomed into the community,' added Mr King.
