It's a boy! Greenville zoo announces birth of giraffe calf
GREENVILLE, S.C. (WSPA) – The Greenville Zoo welcomed a new arrival over the weekend. The zoo announced Autum, a 19-year-old Masai giraffe gave birth to a healthy baby boy Saturday evening. Standing at six-foot-and-one-inch tall and weighing 132 pounds, the calf is alert and has been exploring the giraffe barn. The calf is Autumn's seventh child, behind Kiko, Tatu, Kiden, Kellan, Providence and Blossom. The newborn will remain in the barn with Autumn for now, but Greenville Zoo said he could be ready to step outside and see visitors as early as this week. The zoo will make an announcement before he is put on exhibit. In the meantime, the zoo has a live stream of the giraffe paddock and barn here. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved. A Lucky Seven List Of All-Time Rangers Hustlers
If you are enjoying the Stanley Cup Final, by now it must be apparent that the Panthers and Oilers have HUSTLE written all over them. Special Kudos to aging vets Corey Perry of Edmonton and Brad Marchand of Florida. Advertisement Over the years, the Ranger roster was sprinkled with Marchand-types who never stopped skating. The Maven's All-Time Rangers hustlers appear here in Chronological time: The Best Rangers Hustlers On The Team Currently The Best Rangers Hustlers On The Team Currently Enough with the talk about the deadwood core. Here's a short list of The Maven's favorite TRY HARD GUYS. 1. PHIL WATSON: It wasn't that "Phiery Phil" set up the 1940 Stanley Cup-winning goal for New York in 1940, but that didn't hurt. Watson's big mouth churned away as fast as his skates. Phil never wore a sign that read: BATTERIES NOT INCLUDED! 2. DEAN PRENTICE: Shamefully, the Hockey Hall of Fame has ignored one of the most consistent left wingers in history. Hall Of Fame right wing Andy Bathgate would have been the first to claim that Dean's hard work led to AB's HOF nomination. Advertisement 3. ANDY HEBENTON: GM Muzz Patrick's greatest discovery, Hebby was toiling with Tacoma in the Western League when Muzz signed him as a winger for the 1955-56 season. Andy scored a huge OT goal for New York and became an NHL iron man. 4. RED SULLIVAN: Nobody in Sully's time had more go-go in his system than the center who would become captain. Red was a ferret on the spoor of a hot puck and one of his other favorite targets was the Habs goalie; whenever Jacques Plante wandered. 5. LARRY POPEIN: Before Bathgate became a superstar, Andy needed a crafty center to help launch his career. "Pope" was the perfect pivot; as well as a superior skater who "read" Bathgate's moves as well as any. 6. JOHNNY WILSON: Once the dynamo behind Gordie Howe and Ted Lindsay on the Dynastic Detroit Red Wings, Wilson – yet another iron man – was a hero on the 1961-62 Ranger club that made the playoffs under player-coach Doug Harvey. 7. NICK MICKOSKI: Groomed with the Rangers Eastern Amateur Hockey League's New York Rovers, "Bashful Nick Ready Top Click" wore his number 11 proudly. The Winnipeger's hustle did not result in any All-Star nominations but the fans – Maven included – loved the guy!

Caitlin Clark's Message for Aliyah Boston Ahead of Big Announcement
Caitlin Clark's Message for Aliyah Boston Ahead of Big Announcement originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Indiana Fever's All-Star point guard-center duo of Caitlin Clark and Aliyah Boston is one of the best in the WNBA on the court, averaging a combined 34.3 points, 13.6 rebounds and 13.1 assists per game this season. Advertisement The relationship between the two former No. 1 overall draft picks is thriving off the court as well, and Clark is about to spread their message to basketball courts across America. One example of the Indiana teammates' bond is the pregame affirmation that Boston introduced Clark to. To build each other up before taking the court, they repeat the words: "You're going to be amazing because you are amazing." Clark's commercial presence has entered a new stratosphere with the upcoming release of her second signature basketball collection with Wilson on June 23. Clark is the second basketball player, after NBA legend Michael Jordan, to have a full basketball collection with the company. Advertisement But Clark, 23, ensured that Boston's affirmation would become a secret message for those lucky enough to get their hands on one of the four basketballs, which are sure to sell out after their release in two weeks. 'We'll get (Boston) a free basketball," Clark said. "She'll love it. I'm going to put it in her locker.' Indiana Fever forward Aliyah Boston (7) laughs with Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark (22) before the game against the Washington Faith Morgan-Imagn Images Clark's new signature line with Wilson is set to include four different basketballs: Envision, Embrace, Oasis and Aspire. According to USA Today, the indoor/outdoor Aspire ball includes the phrases 'Dream Big,' 'Keep Going' and 'You're Going to Be Amazing Because You Are Amazing,' which only appear in bright red lettering when the ball is in the sunlight. Advertisement Clark was an active participant in the design process, which is how her pregame words for Boston became a part of this special collection. She said she would have loved to have a ball as a kid that included a secret message. The Aspire ball will be priced at $54.95, while the Envision and Oasis balls are both under $50, with Clark conscious of making her products affordable for fans everywhere. The Embrace, Wilson's premium Evo NXT basketball that aligns with WNBA professional standards, costs $124.95. Her first signature ball, released in October 2024 to highlight accomplishments from her record-breaking NCAA career at Iowa, sold out in minutes.
