Amaravati Quantum Valley will be akin to Silicon Valley: Andhra CM
VIJAYAWADA: Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Monday stated that the proposed Quantum Valley in Amaravati should earn a global identity akin to Silicon Valley. He said that the Andhra Pradesh State Quantum Mission must lead the way in advancing quantum technologies and artificial intelligence.
The Chief Minister held a review meeting with IT experts at the State Secretariat on Monday, gathering inputs on building a robust Quantum Valley ecosystem in Amaravati.
Announcing that a workshop on the Quantum Mission will be held in the capital on June 30, Naidu stressed the importance of paying meticulous attention to every aspect of Quantum Valley's development. He directed officials to ensure that the proposed facility becomes an iconic structure.
Drawing a parallel with Hyderabad's Hi-Tech City, which became a symbol of technological progress, the Chief Minister said the Quantum Valley, being developed in Amaravati, must be equally transformative and globally recognizable.
During the review meeting, officials presented the agenda and action plan for the development of the Andhra Pradesh State Quantum Mission.

: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu has asked the officials to make efforts to reduce the use of fertilizers in the State. At a review meeting on preparedness for the kharif season on Tuesday, Mr. Naidu said efforts should be made to reduce the use of fertilizers and pesticides to preserve soil health. Ensure there is no fertilizer shortage anywhere. Updated data on fertilizer and pesticide usage should be maintained. ''Last year, 39 lakh metric tons of fertilizer was used in the crop season; this year, it should be reduced to 35 lakh metric tons. Cultivation of pulses and millets must increase. Banks must issue loans to farmers within 24 hours of their request this season,' he said. To boost farmers' income, Mr. Naidu suggested implementing intercropping with vegetables or fruit plants along field bunds. Water was released through canals to farmlands in West Godavari, Eluru, Konaseema, East Godavari, Kakinada, and Krishna districts, it added. Plans are afoot to irrigate farms in Guntur, Bapatla, and Prakasam districts in the first week of July, it said. Officials noted that paddy, red gram, groundnut, and cotton are the primary crops during the Kharif season. While groundnut and cotton cultivation have declined, red gram has seen an increase and paddy cultivation remains stable, said the press release. As many as 14 cyclones struck the southern state over the past 20 years, particularly impacting the north coastal region and the East Godavari district.
