ST. PAUL, Minn. — Can you feel it? Do you believe it? Def Leppard fans will be in a state of hysteria when the '80s band plays the Minnesota State Fair this summer.
The rockers behind hits like "Photograph" and "Pour Some Sugar On Me" will play the Grandstand at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 26. Tickets range from $77 to $292 and go on sale Friday at 10 a.m.
This will be Def Leppard's sixth time playing the fair. They last performed there in 2015 with Styx and Tesla. Last summer, they played a show at Target Field.
The fair previously announced Old Dominion, Melissa Etheridge and Indigo Girls will be on the Grandstand schedule this year.
Last month, organizers announced ticket prices for this year's fair will increase by $2 — pre-fair discount tickets are $17 through Aug. 26 and admission at the gate will cost $20. On-site parking will also increase to $25.

Vance Sucks Up to Trump to Deny He's Part of Musk Coup Plot

J.D. Vance was forced to reaffirm his allegiance to President Trump after Elon Musk backed a call for the vice president to replace his boss. A spat between Musk and Trump over the president's 'big beautiful bill,' which the Tesla CEO denounced as a 'disgusting abomination,' has blown up into an all-out MAGA civil war, with Musk and Trump dramatically trading blows in public. On Thursday, the Tesla and SpaceX CEO replied 'Yes' to a post by an X user who asked: 'President vs Elon. Who wins? My money's on Elon. Trump should be impeached and Vance should replace him.' Musk publicly mused about starting a political party, and told his followers in a bombshell allegation that Trump was named in the Epstein files, signing off by saying: 'Have a nice day, DJT!' He added in a follow-up post, 'Mark this post for the future. The truth will come out.' Vance also features in a conspiracy theory called 'Dark Enlightenment' or Dark MAGA" that suggests a secretive cabal of tech titans is plotting to blow up the government and rule as a giant corporation with a CEO instead of a president. The Silicon Valley plotters, including Musk, chose Vance as the person who would take over when Trump is toppled, according to the theory. Trump has yet to address the latest allegations personally. White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt issued a statement saying: 'This is an unfortunate episode from Elon, who is unhappy with the 'One Big Beautiful Bill' because it does not include the policies he wanted.' As the drama escalated, Vance posted a picture teasing a Friday appearance on the podcast of Trump-friendly comedian Theo Von. 'Slow news day, what are we even going to talk about?' Vance joked. In a follow-up post, the vice president added: 'President Trump has done more than any person in my lifetime to earn the trust of the movement he leads. I'm proud to stand beside him.' Musk and Trump's alliance began to unravel after the GOP-controlled House of Representatives narrowly passed Trump's flagship budget proposal last month. Before that, Musk had pushed Trump's agenda by leading his so-called Department of Government Efficiency, an initiative within the administration tasked with cutting government spending and jobs. Musk publicly attacked Trump's bill on the grounds that it would undermine his work with DOGE by adding trillions to the U.S. budget deficit. But on Thursday, Trump claimed that Musk was really upset about the effect the bill will have on his electric vehicle company, Tesla. 'I asked him to leave, I took away his EV Mandate that forced everyone to buy Electric Cars that nobody else wanted (that he knew for months I was going to do!), and he just went CRAZY!' Trump wrote on Truth Social. 'The easiest way to save money in our Budget, Billions and Billions of Dollars, is to terminate Elon's Governmental Subsidies and Contracts. I was always surprised that Biden didn't do it!' the president added.

Stephen Colbert Recaps Trump-Musk Social Media War: ‘I'm Just Glad Jeff Epstein Isn't Alive to See Any of This'

Stephen Colbert's Thursday night 'Late Show' monologue recapped the social media feud between President Donald Trump and Elon Musk that escalated into governmental threats and accusations about Trump allegedly being in the Jeffrey Epstein files. 'I hope you've stocked your family shelter with portable water and dehydrated turkey chili because, ladies and gentlemen, a full-scale flame war has broken out between the world's most famous besties,' Colbert announced at the top of his CBS monologue. He then refuted Trump's claim Thursday morning that he has helped Musk a lot by joking that he 'helped' the billionaire 'declutter his bank account of $288 million dusty dollars.' Colbert additionally pushed back at Trump's remark on Truth Social that Musk just 'went crazy' over his Big, Beautiful Bill. 'I'm sorry … 'Went crazy'? Elon, has always lived at the geographic center of insanitude,' he said. 'He's not the Mayor of Crazytown. He's the Governor of Off-His-Medsylvania.' Ultimately, the 'Late Show' host said, 'You know what, folks? I'm just glad Jeff Epstein isn't alive to see any of this.' You can watch the full 'Late Show' monologue yourself in the video, below. Despite Trump's insistence that Musk wanted him to support electric vehicles that 'nobody else wanted,' Colbert pointed out that the president not only promoted Tesla's cars at the White House in March, but also bought one that is still parked at the presidential residence. 'So now Donald Trump is a Tesla owner who hates Elon Musk … he's never been more relatable,' Colbert joked. 'Trump's going to have to get one of those bumper stickers for his Tesla that says, 'I bought this before Elon told everyone I was on Epstein's plane.'' In reaction to Musk's 'big bomb' tweet alleging that Trump is mentioned in the government's classified Epstein Files, Colbert asked, 'Is this Twitter war a Cheesy Gordita Crunchwrap Supreme? Because it's dripping hot, messy filth and I am eating up every sloppy bite.' The comedian also noted that Musk retweeted a post on X saying that Trump should be impeached. 'Oh my sweet lord, I agree with Elon Musk,' he said with feigned horror, before asking his phone: 'Siri, what is the current temperature of Hell?' The 1600: Mutually Assured Destruction

The Insider's Track Good morning, 🎶 Friday Listening: Taylor Swift - All Too Well (10 Minute Version). One of the greatest breakup songs ever written. Speaking of... That escalated quickly, huh? I'd say our discussion yesterday about the cracks in the Musk-Trump relationship ended up being pretty prescient, despite those accusing me of trafficking in gossip and innuendo! Elon finally went full mask off just a couple hours after this newsletter hit your inbox, ripping into Trump directly over the course of about 40 posts on X. The trigger seems to have been Trump telling reporters he was "disappointed" in Musk's trashing of his marquee legislation. Musk started his tirade arguing that Trump would have lost the election if not for him (maybe), predicted the tariffs would cause a recession (more likely) and, as the coup de grace, accused the president of the United States of being in the Jeffrey Epstein files (which don't exist, at least not in the form that's been alleged). Remember that Cybertruck that exploded outside the Trump hotel in Vegas on New Year's Day? It was an omen. Trump responded that Elon had "gone CRAZY" and threatened to pull his companies' government subsidies and contracts. All in all, at least so far, the POTUS has actually been the cooler head to prevail in this breakup. Whether that can last, we'll probably see today. I've heard some theories that this was all staged as a way for Trump to wash his hands of Musk and Musk to get back to his business of selling electric cars to Democrats. I don't buy it. Elon is dead to the libs, that ship has sailed. And from everything I've heard out of DC, Trump was legitimately taken aback by his former "first buddy" going scorched earth. I think what's more likely is what we've been saying right here for months. You just cannot have two alpha males in the same place at the same time. It never works. And Musk had grown way too big for his britches during his brief tangle with the federal government. I do think there's probably some kind of Mutually Assured Destruction doctrine at play that is going to lead to a detente, or rapprochement, out of necessity for both parties, maybe even as soon as today. These guys both still need each other. Musk needs Trump not to mess with Tesla or SpaceX. Tesla is where Musk's wealth is derived. The DOJ could easily cut its already struggling stock price in half with a well-timed investigation. SpaceX is where Musk sees his legacy. And given SpaceX is deeply entangled with the federal government, Trump could easily make Elon's life miserable by just dropping it as a federal contractor, or as Steve Bannon is calling for, actually seizing it. That would also be bad for America because SpaceX is one of our most innovative companies that is, literally single handedly, keeping our space program alive. Let's hope it doesn't get caught up in the crossfire. But Musk also has something that is extremely valuable to both Trump and the MAGA project, and that is the X algorithm. Elon has made the platform formerly known as Twitter into an echo chamber for Trump-adjacent voices. If he did get Trump elected, it wasn't because of the $250M he dropped in Pennsylvania—it was because of the influence of X. One tweak of that algo to make it less Trump friendly, like it was a few years ago, and that would be a big hit to the White House's reach. One certainty about when Donald Trump is president, it's never boring! The Rundown President Donald Trump is working to push his "big, beautiful bill" through the Senate in the face of resistance from some Senate Republicans and increasing criticism from Elon Musk. Some lawmakers have already raised serious concerns about the bill—more in the Senate than in the House, where the bill passed by just one vote—which has put its passage in doubt. Read more. However, hopes among Iranian fans in particular to attend and support their national team on U.S. soil are now in doubt following Trump's announcement of a new travel ban targeting 12 countries, including Iran.
