Meanwhile, another Home Bargains buy is said to add a touch of glamour to your outdoor space.
Why do Aldi and Lidl have such fast checkouts
IF you've ever shopped in Aldi or Lidl then you'll probably have experienced its ultra-fast checkout staff.
Aldi's speedy reputation is no mistake, in fact, the supermarket claims that its tills are 40 per cent quicker than rivals.
It's all part of Aldi's plan to be as efficient as possible - and this, the budget shop claims, helps keep costs low for shoppers.
Efficient barcodes on packaging means staff are able to scan items as quickly as possible, with the majority of products having multiple barcodes to speed up the process.
It also uses 'shelf-ready' packaging which keeps costs low when it comes to replenishing stock.

Myleene Klass stuns in polka dot bikini as she soaks up the sun on holiday in Italy
MYLEENE Klass spots an opportunity to give her followers a treat as she poses in a polka dot bikini on holiday. The radio host, 47, posted snaps from her break in Italy against a background track of The Beach Boys' Good Vibrations. 3 3 3 Her cossie and matching bandana were from her latest collection with Freemans, who she is a brand ambassador for. Earlier this year Myleene revealed what really gets her in the mood during an appearance on Loose Women. Referencing Brooke Shields ' autobiography, in which she details her thoughts on sex as a 59-year-old woman, Jane Moore put the same question to her fellow panelists. Myleene, who shares five-year-old daughter Ava with her husband Graham Quinn, revealed what gets her turned on now she's a busy mum. The model explained that when it comes to getting in the mood for women, it's a' slow burn'. "I think all these ideas of tequila and setting the mood and music, it's not about those five minutes, it's about the whole day," she said. "It's about the cup of tea, it's about kindness, put a shelf up and things are going to look way more promising for the evening." Myleene went on to say that being proactive about tasks in the home and looking after your partner and family is her idea of "foreplay." "It's not just what goes on in the bedroom, it's actually what goes on in your relationship." And while she acknowledged that society doesn't find this idea as "enticing," she said that putting time and effort into a relationship is the biggest turn on.

Three ways to keep your pooch looking great without a trip to the grooming salon
YOU can spend a small fortune pampering your dog at a pet-grooming salon. Some owners fork out thousands for this but you can keep your pooch looking great for a whole lot less money. Here's how . . . ALWAYS BRUSHING: If your pet has longer hair, you should regularly brush its coat, according to Megan Roberts, manager and head groomer at London dog salon Mon Joli Chien, which offers pups luxury facials and paw-cures among its services. She says: 'This is the most effective way to manage shedding, prevent painful matting and distribute those essential natural oils that keep their coat gleaming.' Make sure you choose the right brush for your dog's coat type. You can choose from a slicker brush, pin brush or rake. Just a few minutes of brushing can make a world of difference. CLEAN UP: When your four-legged friend ends up mucky, you can get them squeaky-clean without pricey products. Megan says: 'Skip the expensive wipes and sprays and opt for a warm, damp washcloth for quick clean-ups. 'Coconut oil isn't just for cooking, it's a fantastic paw balm and a safe, effective moisturiser for their coat and skin. 'Repurpose an old comb for gentle de- tangling, and use a soft toothbrush to keep those teeth in tip-top shape.' NAILED IT: You should make sure your dog's claws are kept trim or they can cause discomfort and other issues. I was stunned when I got my dog back from the groomer - I think he might have been switched in the shop Invest in a good pair of nail-clippers and you can do it yourself at home, advises Megan. You can ask a vet or dog groomer for a demonstration or even look on YouTube for an online tutorial. Trimming hair at home is very tricky. If you choose to try it yourself, Megan says: 'Take your time, use blunt-nosed scissors or clippers with appropriate guards, and prioritise safety above all else.' Penny Lancaster, 54, wows in a floral midi dress as she enjoys a day out with son Alastair, 19, at the first day of Royal Ascot 2025
Penny Lancaster looked incredible as she attended at the first day of Royal Ascot 2025 in Berkshire on Tuesday. The wife of hitmaker Rod Stewart, 54, made the occasion a family affair, as she was accompanied by her son Alastair, 19. She cut a chic figure in a plunging vintage dress from Dolce and Gabbana, teamed with a Annabeth Fenley percher hat. The beauty added a pair of gold heels and toted her belongings in a stylish Lowe bee basket bag, worth a whopping £1,100. Meanwhile son Alastair looked ever the gentleman in a morning suit with a grey top hat. Penny was also joined by book editor Rosie Nixon, Penny showed off her chic sense of style in the fitted floral dress on Royal Ascot's first day. Royal Ascot, the jewel in the crown of the UK racing calendar, kicked off on Tuesday with the Queen Anne Stakes and will run until Saturday. King Charles and Camilla are likely to arrive in the famous carriage procession along the course and past the stands that will welcome hundreds of thousands of punters during the five-day meet. It is a royal tradition that has reached its 200th anniversary this year after it was first held in 1825 during the reign of King George IV. The festival was founded by Queen Anne in 1711 after she declared Ascot ideal for 'horses fit for kings' and it is now a major social event and sporting attraction. It comes after Sir Rod Stewart, 80, put on a very animated display as he posed next to his glamorous wife Penny at the Mission: Impossible 8 premiere in London last month. The couple joined plenty of famous faces on the red carpet in Leicester Square to celebrate Tom Cruise 's eighth and final instalment, The Final Reckoning. The film, which has faced multiple delays, finally hit cinemas on May 23 2025. Penny looked effortlessly chic in a yellow satin dress, while Rod bared his chest in a white ruffled shirt and rocked a trendy jacket. The loved-up pair, who have have been married since 2007, were joined by two young gentleman at the premiere. The Maggie May hitmaker, 80, has eight children with five different women, two of whom are sons Alastair, 19, and Aidan, 14, which he raises with third wife Penny, 54. Rod also has Liam, 30, and Renee, 32, with his second wife, model Rachel Hunter, 55, while Kimberly, 45, and Sean, 44, are from his first marriage to actress Alana Stewart, 79. Daughter Ruby, 37, is from a former relationship with model Kelly Emberg, 65 and Rod's firstborn child is Sarah Streeter, 61, who was raised by her adoptive parents Gerald and Evelyn Thubron. Rod's daughter Kimberly showed off her growing baby bump as she made a surprise appearance at the American Music Awards. The model and her siblings Sean, Ruby, Renee, and Liam surprised their famous dad on stage at the ceremony as he was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award. Kimberly announced in March that she was pregnant with her second child, which will be her famous father's fifth grandchild. Los Angeles based Kimberly is already a mum to 13-year-old daughter Delilah Genoveva Stewart, who she shares with her ex-flame Benicio del Toro. She looked radiant in a figure-hugging black dress in a snap shared on Instagram as she joined her family at the star-studded event at BleauLive Theater at Fontainebleau Las Vegas on Monday. Kimberly did not reveal who the father of the baby was, only that she was expecting a son. Singing icon Rod was so shocked to see his family at Monday's ceremony that he dropped an F-bomb that was edited out of the broadcast. 'I'm so f***ing overwhelmed that you're here,' he said lovingly to his kids, according to reporter at the ceremony. However, the version that aired on CBS featured a clumsy cut away from Stewart during his cursing to a bizarre shot of audience members, who were holding up their phones to film his speech. Instead of beeping the profanity, CBS appeared to just snip out the offending word, resulting in a jarring return to his speech mid-word. Rod said he was 'absolutely flabbergasted' because he had no idea that his children were going to be attending the ceremony, much less giving him a warm introduction. 'I thought you had recorded it earlier!' he said of their introduction.
