Ministry of Economy hosts workshop to unveil the new national talent attraction and retention strategy 2031
17 projects and initiatives were presented, outlining the nation's approach to achieving the vision
Abu Dhabi, UAE: The Ministry of Economy hosted the 'Future of Jobs' workshop in collaboration with Integra Seven, a leading UAE-based public policy research and consulting firm. The session brought together representatives from 14 key economic entities and companies across the country.
The workshop focused on empowering, attracting, and retaining talented individuals in the country, in line with this year's UAE Innovation Month themed 'UAE Innovates 2025', reinforcing the country's position as a global leader in innovation across various economic sectors.
H.E. Juma Mohammed Al Kait, Assistant Undersecretary for International Trade Affairs at the Ministry of Economy, emphasized the UAE's continued efforts to achieve its vision to become the best global destination for talented individuals and innovators. This commitment strengthens the country's knowledge- and innovation-driven economic model and reinforces its leadership in attracting and retaining global talent. These efforts include the adoption of strategic initiatives and policies that contribute the development of an attractive environment to attract companies and individuals, thus enhancing their contribution to the sustainable growth of the national economy.
The workshop witnessed the launch of the UAE National Talent Attraction and Retention Strategy 2024-2027 and provided participants with key insights into its objectives. Attendees witnessed the unveiling of 17 groundbreaking projects and initiatives that reinforce the nation's unwavering commitment to cultivating a dynamic and competitive environment for talents to thrive. These efforts aim to cement the UAE's status as the ultimate destination where ideas and talents transform into regionally and globally successful ventures.
The workshop also served as a valuable opportunity for networking and facilitating the exchange of insights and expertise among key decision-makers from participating entities and companies, including talent leaders from Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company (Du), Emirates Airlines, DHL, C3 - Companies for Good, Cigna Healthcare, Ahoy Technology, Tarjama, Al Tamimi & Company, First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB), Infosys, and GrubTech. Their contributions and expertise enriched the dialogue, ensuring a holistic approach to the aspirations and requirements of the future.
Natalia Sycheva, Managing Director of Integra Seven, emphasized the importance of private-public collaboration, saying, 'Through this workshop, we not only identified the challenges but also co-created innovative solutions. It provided a valuable opportunity to foster dialogue and cooperation between industry leaders and policymakers in the UAE."

Sharjah: The Sharjah Excellence Award (SEA)'s Board of Trustees has announced that the closing ceremony to honour the winners of the award's 2024 edition will take place on June 25. Dubai's RTA begins major roadworks project to run through the summer
The transport authority in Dubai has begun work to improve traffic in the emirate at 40 locations over the summer period. The first phase of the work will cover 22 major streets, nine school zones, more than five development areas, and several internal roads in the Tolerance District, Al Khawaneej 2 and Nad Al Sheba, stated the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). The roadworks will be carried out to 'minimise disruption to daily traffic flow', the RTA said in a statement released on Sunday. The next phase will include traffic enhancements at locations such as Jumeirah Village Circle towards Hessa Street, Ras Al Khor Road, Al Thanya Street, and King Salmanbin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street. Additional improvements are to be made to Al Meydan Street, Al Sa'ada Street, Al Asayel Street, and the junction of Al Wasl Street with Al Manara Street. The RTA is also undertaking roadworks at nine school zone locations including upgrades at the Al Warqa 1 school complex, the construction of an additional bus entrance at Gems Education in Al Warqa 3, the widening of access and exit points around The English College in Al Safa 1 on Sheikh Zayed Road, and the installation of a signal-controlled pedestrian crossing on Al Seedaf Street in Al Barsha 1. Work is also being carried at 'five major development zones' as a result of the emirate's population growth and booming economy, the RTA said. This includes the construction of a direct access route to Al Muhaisnah labour camps from Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road, upgrades to Al Mustaqbal Street (Brookfield) for improved access to newly developed residential communities, better connectivity between Al Khail Road and Al Asayel Street via Al Marabea Street, and enhancements at Nad Al Hamar junction near Lootah Mosque. Additionally, new parking facilities will be developed to serve the Zayed Educational Complex in Oud Al Muteena 1. Internal roadworks will also be carried out in areas including Tolerance District, Al Khawaneej 2, Jebel Ali Industrial 1, Nad Al Sheba, and Al Warqa. Pedestrian walkways will also be constructed in Al Quoz Creative Zone to 'improve pedestrian safety'.

Ben Sulayem says Japan and the FIA are united in driving global progress
Dubai, UAE: FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem has completed an official visit to Japan, reaffirming the strong ties between the Federation and one of the world's most influential nations in mobility and motorsport. As the governing body for world motorsport and the federation for mobility organisations worldwide, the FIA is committed to building partnerships that drive innovation, safety, and sustainability. Hosted by the Japan Automobile Federation (JAF) and President Masayoshi Sakaguchi, the visit offered vital insights into Japan's investment in smart infrastructure and the evolving role of cities as arenas for both mobility innovation and sporting events. Japan continues to be a vital partner in advancing the FIA's goals, and this visit highlighted the shared commitment of both Japan and the FIA to accelerate progress across the global transport and motorsport arenas. During his official visit, Ben Sulayem met with key national figures including Prime Minister Shigeru Ishiba, Koji Murofushi, Commissioner of the Japan Sports Agency, and Hiromasa Nakano, Minister of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. Ben Sulayem also highlighted the significance of having Mr. Akio Toyoda, Chairman of Toyota, as an active member of the FIA Senate, symbolising the close and constructive relationship between Japan's automotive leaders and the FIA's global mission. The visit comes at a time of notable growth and renewed momentum for Japan's motorsport and mobility sectors. JAF now reports over 200,000 licensed racing drivers – a 20% increase over the past five years – with the 2025 Formula 1 Japanese Grand Prix recording its highest attendance since 2006. At the same time, Japan's broader mobility ecosystem continues to inspire on the world stage through cutting-edge innovation in smart cities, hydrogen, and sustainable technologies.
