HE left Celtic so he could give his son and wife-to-be the chance to watch him play regular first team football.
But Scott Bain's family were hopefully absent from this afternoon's friendly between Falkirk and Edinburgh City as he endured a nightmare between the sticks.

Former Celtic goalkeeper Bain, 33, made his Falkirk debut in the Stirlingshire Cup last weekend and kept a clean sheet as the Bairns beat East Stirlingshire 2-0.
That was his first outing in over a year after failing to make a single appearance in Brendan Rodgers' team last season.
He did feature in pre-season against Queen's Park but his last competitive game for the Hoops came in the final game of the 2023/24 season against St Mirren - replacing Joe Hart in the dying moments of the contest.
Bain has made it clear he hopes to change that this year in the Premiership with his new team and manager John McGlynn.
But he didn't pain himself in the best light in latest appearance for the Bairns as he shipped THREE goals in one half against a Scottish League Two outfit.
Falkirk hosted Edinburgh City and it finished 3-2 after a pretty end-to-end showdown, with the League Two side coming out on top - both in the first half and at full-time.
The Bairns found themselves 3-0 down at the interval following an electric start from City.
Tiwi Daramola netted a brace with James Stokes scoring as well to take a commanding lead at the break.
It was a shock first half showing from the newly-promoted Premiership side after McGlynn named a very strong starting XI.
Former Rangers star Scott Arfield started the game and pulled one back following the restart, with Sean Mackie the other goal-scorer for the hosts.
Falkirk boss John McGlynn on his one remaining management dream and how his PLUMBING skills were put to use
Speaking after sealing his move to Falkirk, Bain outlined his reasons for leaving his Celtic.
He said: 'I think I was getting to the age now, where if I stayed on at Celtic for another year, as much as I loved being there and loved the club, I would have been another year older and it would have been harder to get back to playing regular football.
'A big thing for me was for my fiancé and little boy potentially getting the chance to come and watch me play, which will be a different experience for them than it's been for the last couple of years.
'So that was a big factor, as was getting the chance to come to Falkirk and work under the manager and the staff here.
'Seeing how well the club is run, was another big factor in me coming here.'

Celtic set to complete signing of J-League defender Hayato Inamura
Celtic are set to complete the signing of Albirex Niigata defender Hayato Inamura. The 23-year-old, who will travel to Glasgow this week, confirmed that he has played his last game for the J-League side. He will become Celtic's fifth summer signing as Brendan Rodgers continues to build his squad ahead of the new season. The Scottish champions have already added Kieran Tierney, Ross Doohan, Benjamin Nygren, and Callum Osmand to the roster as they look to make it five league titles in a row and make another assault on the Champions League. They will enter the top competition at the play-off stage with their first games to be played in August. Inamura has played 17 games for Niigata this season, with the club currently sitting in 19th place in the Japanese top-tier. Japan has proven to be a fruitful market for the Hoops, with the likes of Kyogo Furuhashi, Daizen Maeda, and Reo Hatate all helping to bring success to the club in recent years. The defender will be the ninth Japanese player to play for Celtic. Callum Osmand reveals Celtic hero sold transfer move as striker tells fans exactly what to expect
The striker has made the move to Parkhead from EPL outfit Fulham on a four-year deal Callum Osmand has revealed Matt O'Riley's secret agent role in his move to Celtic. The striker arrived at the Scottish champions on a four-year deal after swapping English Premier League outfit Fulham for a crack at Champions League football at Parkhead. Brendan Rodgers has made him signing number four of the window having already brought back Kieran Tierney on a pre-contract from Arsenal, Ross Doohan to beef up his options between the sticks after allowing Scott Bain to move on and Swede Benjamin Nygren. Osmand revealed new boss Rodgers has set out a clear pathway for him in Glasgow's east end and it is a journey he can't wait to get started on. But it was former Celtic star O'Riley - now back in England with Brighton - dished out advice to the 19-year-old while also giving both the club and fans big licks. Osmand told Celtic TV: 'Osmand is the latest in a line of Fulham academy men to pull on the hoops. He follows in the footsteps of a trio of fans' favourites in the shape of Moussa Dembele, Patrick Roberts and O'Riley. He said: "Fulham has a brilliant academy set up. The coaches are top as well. It's a credit to them really how they bring up players to get them ready for senior football. "Obviously, there has been notable names. Moussa, Matt. I've also spoken to Matt [O'Riley] on the phone, so he has given me advice. "He was telling me about how big the club is, how amazing the fans are and it's a new life really. So excited is definitely the word for me. "It feels unbelievable to be here and I am so happy to be here. It is a big step for me, and I am excited to get going. "It's a massive move and I can't wait to step out at Celtic Park in front of all the fans. Really excited to get going. 'When I spoke to the manager, he was really positive. The plan and pathway he has set out for the club is top, so it's exciting with the pathway he has for me. 'He has set out what he wants from me, and it is all really positive, so I can't wait to get going now." Offering the Celtic fans an insight to his playing style, he continued: "I am more of a quick striker. Not your classic like massive hold up sort of player. I am more mobile and I like to bring excitement to the team. Runs in behind and work rate. "You can do all the talking here but if you can't do it on the pitch it doesn't mean anything. So I just can't wait to get out there and have the boots on and play" Boss Rodgers added: 'We are really pleased to bring Callum to Celtic. He is a highly-rated, talented young player. 'He has some real attributes. He's a quick and powerful striker and I'm really looking forward to working with him. I'm sure he can be really successful with us.'

Celtic confirm signing of Fulham youngster Callum Osmand on four-year deal
Celtic have completed the signing of teenage Fulham striker Callum Osmand. He becomes the club's fourth signing of the season following the arrivals of Kieran Tierney, Ross Doohan and Benjamin Nygren. The teenage forward caught the eye of the champions with his performances at Premier League 2 level and Osmand has now signed a four-year deal, with Fulham receiving a training compensation fee. He'll now go into the first team squad ahead of the new season and look to impress manager Brendan Rodgers as he continues his development. Osmand has been at Fulham since he was 13 and signed professional terms with the London club in 2023. Last season, he scored ten goals in 17 appearances at Premier League 2 level, adding four assists and earning a nomination for the league's Player of the Year. He also netted two in the National League Cup and one in the Vertu Trophy. Osmand also scored five goals in the Premier League International Cup, which is a tournament launched by the Premier League for Under-21 sides from across Europe. When the move was confirmed on Monday, Rodgers said: 'We are really pleased to bring Callum to Celtic. He is a highly-rated, talented young player. 'He has some real attributes. He's a quick and powerful striker and I'm really looking forward to working with him. I'm sure he can be really successful with us.' Speaking to Celtic TV, Callum Osmand revealed he had sounded out former Hoops star Matt O'Riley for advice on the move. He said: 'It feels unbelievable to be here and I am so happy to be here. It is a big step for me, and I am excited to get going. 'It's a massive move and I can't wait to step out at Celtic Park in front of all the fans.
