SAO PAULO (AP) — Khaby Lame, the world's most-followed TikTok personality who left the U.S. after being detained by immigration agents, went to Brazil where he's been spending some time with friends, local authorities said Thursday.
Lame is staying with AC Milan player Emerson Royal, and has been enjoying time with local fans, Paulo Eduardo Dias Junior, a city councilman from Americana, about 78 miles (125 kilometers) northwest of Sao Paulo, told The Associated Press.

The rumor originates from a 2022 Japanese comic book 'The future I saw,' which features a dream foreseeing a tsunami and is also available in Chinese. The chatter began spreading earlier this year through social media, mainly in Hong Kong. The author previously gained attention for allegedly predicting the 2011 quake and tsunami in northern Japan, which killed more than 18,000 people. Japan, which sits on the Pacific 'ring of fire,' is one of the world's most quake-prone countries. Last summer, a panel of seismologists noted a slight increase in the probability of a megaquake on Japan's Pacific coasts. The government organized an awareness-raising week but only triggered panic buying, beach closures and other overreactions and complaints. While it is important to inform people about the science, Nomura said, it is also necessary for everyone in this quake-prone country to take early precautions. 'In Japan, an earthquake can occur anytime, anywhere,' Nomura said. 'So I ask everyone to take this opportunity to ensure your preparedness for a major quake.'

Germany's bid to host women's Euro 2029 leaves out Berlin
FRANKFURT, Germany (AP) — Germany's bid to host the women's European Championship in 2029 is set to leave out the capital city of Berlin. Germany announced eight cities including Munich, Dortmund and Cologne that will host games if its bid is successful. Berlin was among three cities that didn't make the cut. 'The selected venues represent the best combination for a successful international bid to UEFA,' the German soccer federation said in a statement, adding that it made decisions based on economic factors, regional balance and UEFA requirements. The announcement comes as Switzerland is set to host Euro 2025 next month. UEFA has said it will choose the host for Euro 2029 this December. It would be the third time that eight-time European champion Germany has officially hosted the event, but the first since 2001. Back then, only eight teams took part, half of the current number. Germany also hosted the tournament in 1989 and held the final in 1995, when it wasn't the official host because games were split among participating countries. UEFA said last year it had also received declarations of interest for Euro 2029 from Italy, Poland and Portugal, as well as a joint bid by Denmark and Sweden. Real Madrid to sign teenager Mastantuono from River Plate after Club World Cup
MADRID (AP) — Real Madrid has struck a deal to sign River Plate midfielder Franco Mastantuono for the next six seasons. The Spanish club said Friday that the 17-year-old Mastantuono will join in August, meaning he will play for River at the Club World Cup. Madrid is also set to play the tournament in the United States.
