Mrs McTear had been travelling as a passenger when the car was involved in a crash on the A737
Mrs McTear had been travelling as a passenger in a Mercedes A-class on the road at around 3.10am on Monday, 23 September last year, when the car collided with a MAN box van.
Tragically Mrs McTear was pronounced dead at the scene.
Lesley's devastated loved ones paid tribute to their beloved relative and praised her caring nature.
A family spokesperson said: 'Lesley was a loving wife, mother, grandma and daughter-in-law.
"As a family, we are deeply saddened by the events that have caused such a void in our family.
'Lesley was the glue that kept us all together and anyone who was lucky enough to know Lesley was showered by her unconditional love.'
A number of calls around that time also reported six horses running loose on the A737.
A 52-year-old woman has been charged in connection with this alleged incident.
Reports will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal.
Meanwhile a lorry driver who knocked a much-loved mum off her bike killing her in a horror road smash has been spared jail.
James Peat, 62, hit Una Brandreth, 56, after he turned his HGV into her without indicating at a junction.
Ms Brandreth was dragged under the wheels before he drove on unaware of the rush hour carnage behind him.
Peat appeared at Dumbarton Sheriff Court and admitted causing death by dangerous driving.
Sheriff Frances McCartney imposed a community payback order of 200 hours of unpaid work.
Peat was banned from driving for two years and also tagged for two months.

Edinburgh mum's horror as son rushed to hospital after 'dog attack' at party
Our community members are treated to special offers, promotions and adverts from us and our partners. You can check out at any time. More info An Edinburgh mum has been left horrified after her son was allegedly attacked by a dog at a busy local park. Nine-year-old Nicholas Quintero suffered injuries to his face following the horror incident while he and his family were attending a surprise birthday party at Leith Links on Thursday night. Nick's mum Maria Cedeno recalled singing happy birthday to a friend before hearing screaming and turning around to see blood gushing from her son's face after the dog supposedly lunged at him. According to Maria, Nick pointed to a Bulldog-type dog as she removed him from the park and phoned an ambulance. Medics arrived and police were later alerted to the incident. However, Maria says the owners of the dog attempted to 'hide it' from police and initially denied any wrongdoing. Nick was taken to hospital and returned on Friday morning, June 20, for surgery due to the severity of his facial injuries. Maria has been left furious by the ordeal and how it has been handled by the owners of the dog, claiming they are yet to apologise or take any accountability for the attack which has left her son "traumatised." When approached for comment Police Scotland confirmed a child was taken to hospital after being jumped at by a dog. However, images taken by Maria appear to show a bite mark on her son's body. Speaking to Edinburgh Live Maria, from Saughton, said: "I took the children to a gathering for a surprise party and it was supposed to be a fun day out and water gun fight. "The children were getting ready and everyone started singing happy birthday but all of a sudden I hear Nicholas shouting and screaming. My son's friends and him say all he did was pet the dog, there was no trigger for it to react like that. "The owners tried to tell the police there was balloons but there was none at all. When I saw all the blood I thought he had a nose bleed as it just wouldn't stop but he was covering his face and pointing to the dog. (Image: Supplied) "My reaction was I have to take him out of the park and phone an ambulance. The ambulance crew phoned the police and the dog was suddenly gone. It took 30 or 40 minutes for them to admit it was their dog. "We're now in hospital as he needs surgery. He has a cut at his mouth which is properly open and can't be stitched. I'm thankful the dog couldn't properly get a hold of him or he could have lost half his face." Join Edinburgh Live's Whatsapp Community here and get the latest news sent straight to your messages Images shared by Maria show the severity of the injury sustained in the attack as he was left with a huge cut on his face pouring with blood. Maria added how the incident has already had a significant impact on him as he was spooked by the family's own dog when he returned home on Thursday. The attack was also witnessed by Maria's other son, who is 11-years-old, and a friend of his. Police have since confirmed the matter has been passed to the dog warden. Maria added: "It is all wrong and I want to make people cautious. I also want the owners to take accountability and responsibility as there hasn't even been an apology or a message to ask if they can help. "Two more children have been left in shock by this as his older brother and his friend were there. As owners we have to take accountability and if this was the other way around I'd be calling an ambulance and helping in any way, but there was no help." A Police Scotland spokesperson said: 'Around 6.45pm on Thursday, 19 June, 2025, officers received a report of a dog having jumped at a child in the Links Place area of Edinburgh. 'The child was taken to hospital for treatment. The matter has been passed to the dog warden.' A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: 'We received a call at 18:32 on Thursday 19 June to attend an incident on Salamander Place, Edinburgh. We dispatched one ambulance to the scene and transported one patient to Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.'

‘Hitman' accused of murdering gang kingpins Ross Monaghan & Eddie Lyons Junior in Spain will fight extradition
Michael Riley, 44, of Merseyside, appeared today at Westminster Magistrates Court as part of a bid to have him shipped to Spain Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) AN ALLEGED hitman nicked over the murders of two Scots gangsters is to fight extradition - as he claimed he was being intimidated by onlookers in court. Michael Riley, 44, of Huyton, Liverpool, appeared today at Westminster Magistrates Court as part of a bid to have him shipped to Spain. Sign up for Scottish Sun newsletter Sign up 1 Eddie Lyons Jnr, left, and Ross Monaghan were shot dead in Spain on May 31 Cops there issued an international arrest warrant in connection with their probe into the May 31 murders of Ross Monaghan, 43, and Eddie Lyons Jnr, 46. Riley was apprehended by Merseyside police on June 13 under an international arrest warrant issued by the Spanish authorities last week. Riley was remanded in custody by magistrates on Saturday after he was deemed a flight risk. He appeared at the London court via videolink from HMP Wandsworth yesterday but due to technical difficulties the hearing could not go ahead effectively. He appeared in person wearing a grey, prison-issued tracksuit and spoke to confirm his name and date of birth. Riley was asked today by the court clerk if he wished to give consent to be extradited back to Spain, to which he said: 'No, I do not.' Riley's extradition hearing will be on October 9 at Westminster Magistrates court and is expected to last all day. Judge John Bristow said: 'As you know, Mr Riley, your extradition is sought by Spain, you have not consented to your extradition, so there is going to be a hearing on October 9. 'If you don't come to that hearing, it can proceed without you. That would mean you would not get the chance to tell your side of the story. 'You are not applying for bail today, so I am going to remand you in custody. 'Your next appearance will be on July 18, where on that occasion you will be on live television link.' Riley accused a member of the public in the public gallery of staring at him and making funny faces. He shouted: 'Stop looking at me' as he was led back to the cells. We told how the Lyons gang kingpins were drinking in Monaghans bar after watching the Champions League Cup final when they were gunned down. A hooded assassin was captured on CCTV storming the boozer and shooting both men dead in front of horrified holiday makers and staff. We told how cops in Spain and Scotland gave conflicting information over who is believed to have ordered the double assassination. Police Scotland first insisted three days after the slaughter they had 'no intelligence' to suggest the murders were connected to an ongoing turf war here. However, at a sensational press conference in Malaga their Spain counterparts said the man they want extradited over the killings was 'an internal member of the rival Daniel gang'. Malaga-based police chief Pedro Agudo Novo told reporters: "The double murder was carried out by a professional killer and member of one of the victims' rival gangs. "In this case we're not talking about an independently hired killer but an internal member of the rival Daniel gang who ends up assassinating two members of an enemy gang." That prompted the Scottish force to repeat their insistence there is no Daniel link to the slayings - a position also held by members of Monaghan's family. A relative of the murdered mob boss said earlier this month: 'The one thing people need to know is the Daniels are not behind this.' Assistant Chief Constable Stuart Houston said: "We are not aware of any current evidence which suggests the deaths of these two men in Spain are linked to criminal attacks in Scotland being investigated as part of Operation Portaledge.' We told how a captured mobile phone holds the key to proving the assassinations in Spain of two Scots crime kingpins are linked to their Daniel gang rivals, sources claim. Cops are understood to have seized the mobile from an alleged hitman suspected of shooting dead the duo. Insiders say it contains data allegedly linking Riley, 44, to Daniel hoods who Spanish detectives reckon are behind the double slaying. Career criminal Monaghan – who fled Scotland for Spain after a failed attempt on his life in 2017 – was tried but acquitted over the murder of notorious Glasgow hood Kevin 'Gerbil' Carroll at an Asda car park in 2010. In August 2017 he and Eddie Lyons Jr, both members of the Lyons Glasgow crime family, were cleared of being involved in a brutal street attack on three men outside the Campsie bar in Bishopbriggs, East Dunbartonshire. Their deaths come amid an ongoing turf war in Scotland that's resulted in 48 arrests as part of Police Scotland's Operation Portaledge. The gangland carnage in Edinburgh and Glasgow began in March amid claims Dubai-based hood Ross 'Miami' McGill, 31, of East Kilbride sought revenge after blaming associates of caged capital kingpin Mark Richardson, 38, for using fake notes in a dodgy £500,000 cocaine deal.

Cannabis plants worth £7m seized by police in raid at former college campus
Nairn Campus in Kirkcaldy, Fife, was once part of a 7.65-acre site owned by Fife College, however it closed in 2016 and was sub-divided. The derelict building on High Street was found to be a cannabis farm, with 5,000 plants, during a search by officers with a warrant at around 12.40pm on Wednesday. Police Scotland said inquiries are ongoing. Officers said the previous highest value cannabis cultivation was one worth up to £6.3 million which was found in a property on Kirkcaldy's High Street in May 2022, with a man later appearing in court in connection with the find. Sergeant Johny Lister said: 'This is a very significant recovery and is an example of our efforts to disrupt the activity of illegal drugs in Scotland. 'Drugs cause misery in our communities. 'This recovery also underlines our commitment to the Serious Organised Crime Taskforce and the country's Serious Organised Crime Strategy. 'The public has an important role to play in helping Police Scotland target those responsible for the cultivation, supply and sale of illegal substances. 'Anyone with any information or concerns about drugs in their community can call Police Scotland on 101, or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.'
