Luckily, one cash-savvy woman has come to rescue with an easy trick that means you won't have to fork out for a cabin bag or underseat bag for the plane.
And you've already explored more exotic destinations, such as Australia and South America, chances are you already have the necessary item.
Rather than spending a mini fortune on a carry-on bag,
TikToker Nina Edwine proved just how much you can put inside an empty travel pillow.
What's more, not only can you store your clothes safely but the packed pillow will also provide the ultimate comfort on long-haul journeys.
And don't be fooled by the relatively small size of the pillow either - Nina jam-packed the space with heaps of items.
In the video, the holiday-goer, from Germany, was seen removing a non-padded bra, what appeared to be a strappy dress, several tops, a stunning co-ord in red and more.
In total, Nina - who posts under the username @ nina_edwine - whipped out a whopping ten pieces of clothing form the pillow cover.
This, she added later on, was perfect to create ''more than six'' different outfit s.
Chuffed with her hack, the bargain-mad traveller said: ''Rat technique to avoid paying 50 euros (£42) for cabin luggage.''
While some major airlines offer their customers a small cabin bag free of charge, the allowance may not be enough - which is where this hack comes in handy.
Primark is selling the perfect beach bag for your summer holiday - it's lightweight, waterproof and shoppers can't get enough of the sparkles
The clip has since taken the platform by storm, winning the savvy woman more than a whopping 2.6million views.
With summer now officially here, the hack has gone viral, as over 75k people gave it a like and almost 1,900 flooded to comments.
''This is actually genius fr (for real),'' read a comment that's been liked more than 4,100 times.
Another viewer was in total disbelief, writing: ''Wait you fit so much stuff in there.''
''Legendary…how have I never thought of this,'' a TikToker was clearly impressed by the trick.
''Love doing this saves so much space,'' a fourth commented.
''One of those Uniqlo cross body bags - fits loads in. Wear it under your coat with a scarf round your neck to disguise the strap,'' a fashionista added.

Since the 1930s, beach bags — totes made of straw, raffia or canvas — have been one of the most stylish summer accessories. The bucket shape allows you to throw in all your summer essentials — but the mini silhouette prevents you over-packing. £925, Ferragamo at Net-a-Porter Founded in 1985 by the Belgium designer Craig Wright, Dragon Diffusion uses a special hand braiding technique inspired by traditional basket weaving cultures such as Japanese bamboo basketry and fibre baskets crafted from natural plants by South Pacific communities. The process involves braiding crust leather straps before using natural vegetable dyes to create distinctive, wearable shades like this cream and mint iteration. £410, Dragon Diffusion at Net-a-Porter Since the former creative director JW Anderson first adorned a raffia basket bag with Loewe's iconic anagram in 2019, the luxury house has become a go-to for beachy totes. For more playful versions, Loewe's collaboration with Paula's Ibiza features bolder styles and colours while still showcasing the brand's moniker. £1,000, Loewe + Paula's Ibiza at Net-a-Porter Crafted from striped raffia, Brunello Cucinelli's medium beach bag features a sculptural, pleated shape, optional leather shoulder strap and a secure slot for your cards inside. £1,850, Brunello Cucinelli at Net-a-Porter While mini bags are ideal for city breaks in summer, Zimmermann's capacious raffia-jacquard tote is the better option for long days spent by the sea. The leather handles and gold-tone hardware keep the bohemian brand's beach bag feeling elevated. £775, Zimmermann at Net-a-Porter A wearable work of art that arguably should be reserved for swanky seaside restaurants rather than sandy beaches, Bottega Veneta's Sardine tote, named for its sculptural, fish-like handle, is crafted from woven traffic and features a removable leather wallet to keep your items safe. £6,720, Bottega Veneta at Net-a-Porter While most beach bags feature woven raffia or straw, Missoni's vibrant tote is crafted from quick-drying terry-jacquard and reinforced with a canvas trim and showcases a re-imagining of the brand's signature chevron stripes. £495, Missoni at Net-a-Porter Unsurprisingly the quiet luxury brand The Row, forgoes bright beachy stripes for a pared-back silhouette. Free from any embellishment, the Emilie bag simply lets the natural fibres of woven raffia shine. £860, The Row at Mytheresa Founded by Simon Porte Jacquemus and inspired by his personal experience of the south of France's rich art, tourism and fashion history, you can always rely on Jacquemus for summery essentials with a sartorial twist. This beach bag is defined by its playful asymmetric silhouette and curved gold-tone clasp. £1,090, Jacquemus at Mytheresa A sweet take on the traditional picnic basket, Aquazzura's Marea beach bag features a striped canvas drawstring interior and is decorated with playful rattan embellishments inspired by the sea — from coral to clownfish and crabs. £1,185, Aquazzura at Mytheresa Crafted from natural seagrass woven to create a dinky basket-shaped silhouette, Anya Hindmarch's new beach bag features the brand's signature eyes that are also intricately woven from paper. £425, Anya Hindmarch Available in a collection of summery stripes and shades, Gucci's unisex beach bag is crafted from herringbone cotton canvas, playful fringe detailing and the brand's script embroidery across the front.£1,650, Gucci Prada's logo-embroidered crochet beach bags have become somewhat of a seaside status symbol in summer. Crafted from woven yarn, this tote is pretty sturdy, with plenty of room for towels, swimwear and more. £1,660, Prada at Selfridges While Anya Hindmarch's basket bag is very cute, for those who struggle to streamline their beach bag contents, this leather-strapped tote is a touch more roomy. £595, Anya Hindmarch

Flight attendant reveals why they greet passengers - and it's not to be polite

A flight attendant has revealed the secret reason why cabin crew will greet passengers on the plane - and it's not just because they're being polite If you've ever taken a flight, you'll know that the cabin crew greet passengers upon their entry into the aircraft. While it may have seemed like nothing more than a polite gesture up until now, a flight attendant has revealed the real reason behind the friendly greeting. Ioana Iachim, a flight attendant working for Wizz Air has confessed there's a hidden meaning behind a cabin crew member's affable hello during boarding. ‌ Taking to TikTok to share some of her insider secrets, Ioana revealed: "Did you know that your flight attendant greets you not only out of politeness but also, to check whether or not you are too drunk or sick to fly." ‌ Presumably, cabin crew then keep an eye on passengers they believe could stir up trouble or may not be fit to fly, and might even prevent them from boarding. Ioana's video currently has over 3.5 million views and over 190k likes. Several travellers were shocked at Ioana's revelation, with one writing: 'And I thought they fancied me.' Another TikTok user commented on the video: 'I never greet them back because I am an introvert.' One added: 'So why do I always sit next to people hacking up a lung and nobody does anything.' Ioana's hack isn't the only flight attendant secret that has been revealed in recent times. As a flight attendant for the past 22 years, Sue Fogwell has warned fliers against ordering a Bloody Mary while in the skies. While speaking to Travel + Leisure, Sue shared that giving the Bloody Mary a miss is probably wise. The cabin crew member said: 'Due to the very high sodium content, I always avoid drinking Mr&Mrs T/bloody mary mix and tomato juice.' This is because drinks and foods that have a high sodium content can dehydrate passengers fairly quickly, especially on long-haul flights. What's more, the vodka in a classic Bloody Mary has also been identified as a dehydrator, with the NHS advising fliers to limit their alcohol consumption while on an aircraft. In another instance, ex-flight attendant and viral TikTok sensation, Kat Kamalani, shared some unnerving truths about the state of an aircraft's water tanks. She warned: "Don't you ever, ever, ever consume these products from an airplane, from a flight attendant! Rule number one never consume any liquid that is not in a can or a bottle." She went on to claim that "those water tanks are never cleaned and they are disgusting". In fact, cabin crew themselves won't touch hot drinks. She explained: 'We rarely rarely drink the coffee or tea. They come from the same water tank. And so when you're drinking that coffee and tea come from that hot water and it's absolutely disgusting.'

European tourist attraction forced to spend £2.3m after crowds cause chaos

Barcelona is now creating a new 'zone' strategy after crowds of eager tourists put themselves in danger to compete with an emerging TikTok trend Authorities in Barcelona are planning to construct a special zone for people to "take selfies" after a dangerous trend took hold outside its most famous landmark. A recent TikTok video which went viral in Barcelona saw the tourist-clad destination overrun with social media users clogging metro exits. It's reported they had been eager to try their hand at replicating the same act in city's famous square - that is, until the city council stepped in. ‌ Plaça Gaudí, the square in front of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, was fraught with TikTok-enthusiastic tourists balancing their phones on metro escalators to film themselves while the iconic monument appeared in the background. ‌ The sheer amount of visitors looking to capture their individual shots led to severely clogged station exits and was eventually banned. Subsequently, Barcelona City Council has now decided to construct a special zone beside the Sagrada Familia where visitors can take selfies before entering. The 6,200-sqm 'anteroom' will be located between the Nativity façade of the basilica and Plaça Gaudí on Carrer de la Marina. 'The new project helps to resolve a space where it is difficult to reconcile uses between visitors to the temple and the neighbourhood,' the city council said. READ MORE: Popular Spanish city charging British tourists extra £13.17 to stay for a week Construction on the gathering zone is scheduled to begin after the 2025 summer and be finished by April 2026 to coincide with the 100th anniversary of Gaudí's death. The €2.7 million (£2.3 million) project is part of a wider €15.5 million (£13.2 million) plan to improve infrastructure and visitor management around the sacred site. In 2024, the city launched a €44 million plan to regulate crowds in 16 tourist hotspots by deploying more cleaners and police officers to maintain order and safety. ‌ The Sagrada Familia is the most visited tourist attraction in Barcelona and welcomes millions of visitors every year. That said, entrance queues can be quite long so you should be prepared with water and sunscreen. The Sagrada Família is Antoni Gaudí's best-known work and has been under construction since 1882. Although the architect Francesc de Paula Villar was originally commissioned to carry out the Sagrada Família's project, just a year later he was replaced by the young Gaudí. The Nativity façade and crypt have been awarded World Heritage status by UNESCO. To learn more about the history of the building, you can book a walking tour of the church, which also include skip-the-line tickets. ‌ Despite the introduction of a new zone to battle tourist and selfie-stick wielders, Barcelona - like many other popular European cities - is still having a standoff with foreign tourists. Spain hosted a record 94 million international visitors in 2024, compared with 83 million in 2019. Locals have even taken to shooting water at tourists as a way to protest their presence in cities like Barcelona. 'The squirt guns are to bother the tourists a bit,' Andreu Martínez said in Barcelona with a chuckle after spritzing a couple seated at an outdoor café. 'Barcelona has been handed to the tourists. This is a fight to give Barcelona back to its residents.'
