Liverpool's Title Party: A Night to Remember at Anfield
When Liverpool clinched their 20th top-flight title with a resounding 5-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur, it was always going to be a night to remember. Inside the plush Carlsberg Dugout bar at Anfield, the celebrations stretched into the early hours, with players, staff, family and friends soaking up the glory.

As James Pearce of The Athletic reported, the DJ kept the dancefloor alive with requests, as players in 'Champions 24-25' shirts sang along to favourites like Sultans of Swing – a season-long anthem courtesy of Alisson's Spotify playlist.
Arne Slot, Liverpool's trailblazing manager and the first Dutchman to win England's top flight, stayed true to his promise, enjoying 'a glass of beer or two or three' with his family. True to the camaraderie Slot has fostered, there were no speeches, no forced formalities – just pure, heartfelt celebration.

Emotional Reflections Under the Kop
While the party raged indoors, a few poignant moments unfolded on the hallowed turf. Virgil van Dijk, dressed in his tracksuit, and other players returned to the pitch for photos with their families. Perhaps the most stirring image, as captured by James Pearce, was Ibrahima Konaté sitting alone in the Main Stand, looking out over an empty Anfield.

'I don't have words to describe what I felt,' Konaté said. 'I just wanted to enjoy the moment on my own. I was close to crying. It's crazy, unbelievable, and we have to really enjoy it now.'
For Konaté, the first French Liverpool player to lift the English title, it was a deeply personal moment amid the chaos of celebration.
Respect, Unity and Symbolism
The post-match festivities were peppered with wonderful gestures symbolising Liverpool's unity and respect. Darwin Núñez's attempt to soak Mohamed Salah was a classic party prank – but tellingly, it was alcohol-free Nozeco in the bottles, showing respect for the team's Muslim players.

Salah's iconic selfie with the Kop – organised with a club photographer's phone – encapsulated the players' deep bond with the fans. 'I worked my mind a little bit around that idea and it was fine,' Salah explained to Opus Sport.

Meanwhile, Curtis Jones created lifelong memories by lifting young supporter Harry Whitehurst onto the pitch, a beautiful extension of their relationship built over the season.
Anfield and Beyond: Celebrations Continue
Outside the stadium, fireworks and red flares lit up the Liverpool skyline. Even after 3am, the streets around Anfield were thronged with supporters, climbing lamp posts and rooftops to soak up the atmosphere.

Back inside the stadium, the Champions Wall and Walk of Champions were quickly updated to mark Liverpool's 20th league crown. As Klopp himself posted on Instagram: 'Super grateful for the past. Super, super happy about the present, extremely positive about the future! Congratulations — YNWA. Thank you Luv.'
Liverpool's players were granted a well-earned two-day break before preparations resume, but the party will roll on – a guard of honour at Stamford Bridge awaits, followed by the trophy lift against Crystal Palace on May 25th.

Our View – Anfield Index Analysis
As Liverpool fans, we are absolutely buzzing after reading James Pearce's brilliant insight into the title celebrations. This was more than just a party; it was the culmination of a journey built on resilience, smart recruitment, and a seamless transition from Jürgen Klopp to Arne Slot.

Seeing Virgil and the boys dancing with the fans' songs ringing out, knowing Alisson picked Sultans of Swing as the soundtrack to our victories, it just makes it feel properly ours. Slot deserves massive credit – what a smooth handover he's masterminded. Leading a Klopp chant in front of a packed Anfield shows he not only understands the job but respects the emotional heartbeat of the club.
And moments like Konaté's quiet reflection, Curtis Jones lifting Harry Whitehurst, and the ball boys joining the celebrations prove that Liverpool isn't just about winning – it's about winning the right way.
The little touches – Nozeco bottles for Muslim players, Salah's brilliant selfie idea, and Jota proudly cycling around Crosby in his Champions shirt – underline a squad absolutely in love with the club and the community.
We can't wait for the trophy presentation, and with Slot at the helm, it feels like this could be just the beginning of a new era. Stamford Bridge better be ready – the Red wave is coming!

Reports: Bayern agrees deal with Leverkusen to take Tah to Club World Cup

MUNICH (AP) — Bayern Munich has reportedly agreed a deal with Bayer Leverkusen to take Germany defender Jonathan Tah to the Club World Cup. Kicker magazine and other media outlets reported Saturday that Bayern, which had announced Tah's signing 'without a transfer fee' on May 29, has agreed to pay Leverkusen up to 4 million euros ($4.6 million) for the player to take a full part in the Club World Cup starting in the United States on June 14. Tah's contract with Leverkusen ran to the end of June, meaning he could only join Bayern on a free transfer from July 1 – unless the clubs came to an agreement beforehand. There was little goodwill between the clubs after Bayern's failed attempt to sign Tah – Leverkusen's captain – last season, when Leverkusen chief executive Fernando Carro lashed out against Bayern's Max Eberl. Bayern's public pursuit of Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz this season further inflamed tensions between the rival clubs. Any agreement to let Tah join Bayern before his Leverkusen contract ends would suggest pragmatism has won out at Leverkusen. Real Madrid set the precedent by paying a reported fee of up to 10 million euros ($11.4 million) to get England right back Trent Alexander-Arnold out of his Liverpool contract one month before it was due to expire so he could play at the Club World Cup, rather than waiting to sign him with a transfer fee. Bayern will also need to reach agreement with Hoffenheim if it wants to take Tom Bischof to the tournament. Leverkusen faces a summer of rebuilding following Xabi Alonso's departure as coach, Tah and wing back Jeremie Frimpong 's departures for Bayern and Liverpool, respectively, and Wirtz's expected transfer to Liverpool. Leverkusen midfielder Granit Xhaka suggested Friday he would be open to a switch amid reported interest from AC Milan, a change from his previous position. Leverkusen hired former Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag to replace the Real Madrid-bound Alonso, while it has also signed highly rated teenager Ibrahim Maza from second-division club Hertha Berlin, and 21-year-old defender Tim Oermann from relegated Bochum before promptly loaning him to Austrian champion Sturm Graz. It also loaned promising midfielder Francis Onyeka to Bochum for next season in the second division.

Au revoir Pornhub! Adult site pulls out of France, sending users into a frenzy

Adult media giant Pornhub said au revoir to France Wednesday after fighting with its government over new age verification rules — sending the country of love into a frenzy. The law now requires users to upload a photo ID to access adult websites, instead of just clicking on a button that says they're 18. Critics argued there are less invasive ways to keep children out of porn. Advertisement 5 This is the image French visitors to Pornhub see since Wednesday. Obtained by the New York Post So in place of videos of porn, French users who visit Pornhub are now greeted by a topless Marianne — the symbolic representation of the republic's ideals of liberty, equality, and fraternity — and the phrase 'freedom doesn't have an off button.' And Frenchies are losing it. Advertisement 'Another attack on freedom. What's next?' raged Loire Valley resident Enguerran Richy on social media. 'And then we give lessons in democracy to other countries,' snarked Paris resident Maxime Fontanier. The famously libertine French were the second biggest Pornhub consumers last year – trailing only the US. 5 Many in France think the government is overreaching. Jack Forbes / NY Post Design Advertisement French President Emmanual Macron — who notoriously had an affair with his wife Brigitte when he was a 15-year-old schoolboy and she was his much older, married drama teacher — had been pushing hard for the law, arguing French boys get into porn at a young age. More than half of France's 12-year-old boys visit porn sites, according to an investigation released Tuesday by the country's regulatory authority for audiovisual and digital communications. Eva Hicks, who goes by the screen name Little Angel and was the top porn star on the site in France in 2024, says the move will just push adult content creators to post X-rated videos on social media instead. 5 Macron, who met now wife Brigitte when he was a 15-year-old schoolboy, was a big proponent of banning porn for minors. AFP via Getty Images Advertisement 'These are platforms accessible to minors, which is precisely the problem our government was trying to solve,' Hicks told The Post. 'There's a clear contradiction here.' 'Removing access to specialized platforms actually encourages the trivialization of pornography on mainstream social media.' 5 Hicks, known as Little Angel, was the top porn star on Pornhub in France in 2024. Little Angel/ Instagram Others found a fairly easy workaround. 'A VPN app and it'll be like they peed in the wind,' said Toulouse's Julien Carlot-Meunier. And he was right — it took a mere 30 minutes after Pornhub blocked access for one of the leading VPN providers to see sign-ups jump an astronomical 1,000%. 'This is more than when TikTok blocked Americans,' Proton VPN posted on X. The Canadian-owned porn conglomerate blasted the new government regulations as 'unreasonable, disproportionate and ineffective.' Advertisement 5 Hicks said the ban will just push many adult content creators to post on social media instead. Little Angel/ Instagram 'We built Proton VPN to help people in authoritarian countries with online censorship, an access gateway for porn was obviously not what we had in mind, but VPN can be used in this way,' a Proton spokesperson admitted to The Post. Meanwhile, French authorities — who engaged in a fiery exchange with Pornhub all week — were thrilled. 'Good riddance!' fumed French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot. Advertisement 'Less violent, degrading, and humiliating content accessible to minors in France. Goodbye!' ranted Equality Minister Aurore Bergé. The most searched term on the platform had been 'française' — the feminine version of the word French — meaning users were mostly interested in watching their own countrywomen in action. 'MILF,' 'mature woman' and 'woman with glasses' were also popular searches.
