Queen Elizabeth II, known for her consistency, particularly relished her afternoon tea, a ritual she devoutly maintained irrespective of her location worldwide.
The late Queen's itinerant Royal obligations saw her traversing the globe, where an ensemble of skilled personal chefs ensured her daily culinary needs were met; yet, for her favourite tea-time sandwich, an insider has disclosed that from childhood, Her Majesty consistently favoured a rather straightforward option.
Typically, the late monarch and Royal Family partake in their afternoon tea within a window of 3.30 pm to 5.30 pm, indulging in an array of savoury items alongside sweet pleasures such as her beloved chocolate biscuit cake.

Darren McGrady, a former Royal chef who spent 15 years preparing meals for the Royals and trained at London's prestigious Savoy Hotel, once shared insights into the Queen's preferred sandwich.
Marking the reinvigoration of Buckingham Palace garden parties, McGrady recounted in a YouTube video how jam pennies became one of the queen's cherished afternoon delights, reports the Mirror.
His words were clear: "The Queen was served jam pennies in the nursery as a little girl. She's had them for afternoon tea ever since. It's simple: just bread and jam with a little butter-usually strawberry jam. We'd make the jam at Balmoral Castle with the gorgeous Scottish strawberries from the gardens."

Former Royal chef Owen Hodgson disclosed that the late Queen was quite partial to a tuna mayonnaise sandwich, appreciating it well buttered with delicate cucumber slices and a dash of pepper.
Her afternoon tea rituals were renowned, indeed no high tea would be complete without the classic scones, which she savoured using the Cornish tradition of jam first, followed by cream.
McGrady, another former Royal culinary expert, reflected: "She'd always have afternoon tea wherever she was in the world. We'd flown out to Australia and were on the Royal Yacht. It was five o'clock in the morning, but for the Queen, it was five in the afternoon, so my first job was making scones."
Adding to his memories, he shared: "When I started as a young chef at Buckingham Palace, it was fascinating to see how important afternoon tea was to the Queen."
He detailed her enjoyment of "full afternoon tea of sandwiches and pastries".
Notably, he mentioned the variety in her scone preference: "In terms of scones - one day plain and one day with raisins folded through," alongside "Also, tiny pastries like raspberry tartlets and a cut cake, honey and cream sponge, fruit cake, banana bread, or her favourite chocolate biscuit cake. It would all be 'washed down with a delightful steaming hot cup of Earl Grey tea.", all accompanied by "Also, tiny pastries like raspberry tartlets and a cut cake, honey and cream sponge, fruit cake, banana bread, or her favourite chocolate biscuit cake. Harry and Meghan looked at changing Archie and Lilibet's surnames to Spencer
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle explored changing their family name to Spencer during delays in securing UK passports for their children Archie and Lilibet, it has emerged. In a move likely to have deepened the couple's rift with the royal family, it is understood that the Duke of Sussex held a meeting with his uncle Earl Spencer to discuss changing their family's surname. After stepping back from their duties as senior royals, the Sussexes moved to California in June 2020, with their daughter Lilibet born the following year. While their children's surnames are noted as Mountbatten-Windsor on their birth certificates – inherited from the late Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip – Harry and Meghan were given their Sussex titles by the late monarch on their wedding day in 2018. The family have since publicly begun to use Sussex as their surname, and it has now been reported that they applied for UK passports for Archie and Lilibet – aged six and four – using the Sussex name, along with the titles HRH (His/Her Royal Highness). But with their application having waited months without approval, a source told The Guardian that Harry and Meghan feared the delays were due to a reluctance to grant their children the HRH titles, prompting the duke to seek out his uncle for advice. The source was quoted as saying: 'Harry was at a point where British passports for his children with their updated Sussex surnames (since the death of Queen Elizabeth II) were being blocked with a string of excuses over the course of five months. 'Out of sheer exasperation he went to his uncle to effectively say: 'My family are supposed to have the same name and they're stopping that from happening because the kids are legally HRH, so if push comes to shove, if this blows up and they won't let the kids be called Sussex, then can we use Spencer as a surname?'' While the Mail on Sunday reported last week that Earl Spencer – the brother of Harry's late mother, Princess Diana – had advised him against taking such a step, warning of 'insurmountable' legal hurdles, a source close to the couple strongly denied this version of events, and The Guardian reported that Earl Spencer had been enthusiastic and supportive of the name change. However, the discussion over a possible move to adopt Diana's birth name was shelved once the passport applications were approved just days after the Sussexes' lawyers threatened to pursue a data subject access request, according to The Guardian. Archie and Lilibet are named on the royal family website's succession page as sixth and seventh in line to the throne, and are listed as the Prince and Princess of Sussex respectively, titles they gained the right to when their grandfather Charles assumed the throne. A spokesperson for Harry and Meghan said that, as a rule, they do not comment on private issues pertaining to the duke and duchess's children.

Romeo Beckham 'splits from' Kim Turnbull after months of relationship rumours
Romeo Beckham has reportedly split from Kim Turnbull after seven months of dating, with the couple's relationship previously being blamed for the alleged Beckham family feud Romeo Beckham has reportedly parted ways with his girlfriend Kim Turnbull, following months of speculation about a rift within the Beckham family allegedly caused by their relationship. The couple, who have been together for seven months, are said to have called it quits three weeks after David Beckham's 50th birthday celebrations, which were marked by rumours of a family feud due to the apparent absence of Brooklyn Beckham and his wife Nicola Peltz. According to the Daily Mail, insiders maintain that Romeo and Kim's split is "amicable" and unrelated to any alleged family discord. An insider told the publication: "Romeo and Kim are both young and they had a lovely time together but at that age things don't always last forever and they decided to split up." They added that the pair have remained on good terms and have been seen at the same venues since their break up, reports the Mirror. The source expressed regret over the split, noting that Romeo's parents "really adored" Kim and believed she made their son "happy". The source revealed that the break up occurred a "couple of weeks ago" and that the former couple have "remained friendly between them". The insider elaborated: " David and Victoria would hate for the view to be that they split because of Nicola and Brooklyn because that simply isn't the case. The fact is that Kim has got a really busy career as a DJ and Romeo has a busy work life too, there is lots of travelling for both of them at having a relationship at this time isn't all that conducive to their lives." Speculation about a family feud escalated earlier this month with whispers that Romeo's brother Brooklyn had a past romantic association with Kim. TMZ reported earlier this year that the past encounter was considered "all water under the bridge" then. Nonetheless, sources told the publication that the contention stemmed from the eldest sibling Brooklyn and his wife Nicola pondering whether Kim had "the right intentions" when dating Romeo. However, rumours have previously swirled claiming that in a now-removed post, Cruz Beckham stated: "Brooklyn and Kim never dated." Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! AMANDA PLATELL: Meghan and Harry's twerking video makes a mockery of their desire for privacy. I know the pathetic, desperate reason behind it
At first I thought it was a joke when the video popped up on Instagram. It looked like Meghan, heavily pregnant, dancing around a hospital room and grabbing her huge baby bump while twerking her bottom for the camera. A hooded Prince Harry was rap-dancing in the foreground. Meghan, dressed in a black smock shaking her booty, while beaming and joking as she and Harry dance – she with far more ability than him – to the tune of Starrkeisha's Baby Mama song. All, apparently, in an effort to induce the arrival of their overdue second child Lilibet.
