Healthcare Sector Development In its session held on Sunday, chaired by Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan, the Cabinet approved the Jordanian National Policy and Strategy for Quality and Patient Safety (2025-2030). This strategy provides a comprehensive framework for enhancing healthcare standards nationwide, ensuring safe, effective, and high-quality care for all citizens. The initiative aims to improve health outcomes, enhance patient satisfaction, and build a resilient healthcare system capable of addressing both present and future challenges. The strategy outlines a clear vision for healthcare excellence, emphasizing quality, safety, and best practices, while ensuring universal access to adequate care, regardless of the healthcare provider. It aligns with global best practices and Jordan's economic and health modernization goals. Key Focus Areas: Governance and Accountability Data Standardization and Integration Training and Retention of Healthcare Professionals Ensuring Effective and Responsive Healthcare Services The strategy includes specific interventions, such as: Developing standardized data collection protocols Enhancing training for healthcare workers Implementing monitoring and evaluation tools Developed through a collaborative effort between the Ministry of Health, the World Health Organization (WHO), and the National Steering Committee for Quality and Patient Safety, the strategy involved representatives from various healthcare stakeholders. Additionally, the Cabinet approved the justifications for the 2025 Birth and Death Monitoring and Response System Regulation, which aims to: Enhance the comprehensiveness of birth and death data collection Mandate reporting within 24 hours Enable accurate mortality statistics for general deaths, maternal mortality, and neonatal mortality Analyze causes of death and develop response plans Accelerate preventive and early treatment measures for newborns The Ministry of Health will establish four national registries under this system: National Birth and Death Registry – Recording all births and deaths. National Maternal Mortality Registry – Recording all deaths of women of reproductive age related to pregnancy or childbirth. National Fetal and Neonatal Mortality Registry – Recording fetal deaths and deaths of newborns up to 28 days after birth. National Registry for Age- or Disease-Specific Mortality – As designated by the Minister of Health. Public Sector Modernization The Cabinet approved amendments to: The Civil Service and Public Administration Authority Regulation (2025), aiming to: Enhance oversight and streamline decision-making. Improve operational efficiency and simplify procedures. Optimize administrative structures to eliminate redundancies. The Administrative Organization Regulation of the Jordan Atomic Energy Commission (2025), to: Enhance organizational efficiency. Introduce a Data and Communication Management Unit. Reduce the number of departments for better oversight. The Formation of a Conciliation Court in West Irbid District (2025), to: Expedite legal proceedings. Reduce litigation costs for citizens. Ease the burden on Irbid's main Conciliation Court. Tax Settlements and Agricultural Projects The Cabinet approved: Wholesale Markets for Horticultural Products Regulation (2025) for the Greater Amman Municipality. Regulating wholesale markets for horticultural products. Ensuring price transparency and fairness for both farmers and consumers. Creating a digital trading platform for farmers and traders, enabling contract farming and fair pricing. Connecting electricity to the Aniza Agricultural Project in Ma'an Governorate. Part of Royal Initiative projects in the Southern Badia, the project will: Create jobs for local communities. Enhance agricultural skills and training. Provide long-term employment. Approval of tax settlements for 299 cases between taxpayers and the Income and Sales Tax Department, aiming to: Ease financial burdens on businesses and individuals. Improve the business environment. Youth and Sports Initiatives Approval for the Ministry of Youth to oversee activities for "Amman, the Arab Youth Capital 2025". This follows the Arab Youth and Sports Ministers' Council decision to select Amman as the host city. A committee chaired by the Minister of Youth and including key ministers and Amman's mayor will oversee event planning.

Prime Minister Orders Full Medical Care for Jerash Accident Victims Prime Minister Jaafar Hassan on Tuesday instructed Health Minister Firas Al-Hawari to ensure that all those injured in the traffic accident on the Jerash-Ajloun road receive full medical and health care. اضافة اعلان During a Cabinet session held in Ajloun Governorate, Hassan also extended his condolences to the families of the victims who lost their lives in the tragic accident that occurred on the same road on Monday. According to the spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate, rescue and ambulance teams from the Jerash Civil Defense dealt with a collision involving a mid-sized passenger bus and a "Diana" vehicle near the Souf Triangle on the Jerash-Ajloun road. In a press statement, the spokesperson said that the accident resulted in two fatalities and 20 injuries, with varying degrees of wounds and bruises. Ambulance teams provided first aid at the scene and transported the injured, along with the deceased, to Jerash Governmental Hospital, Princess Haya Military Hospital, Al-Iman Governmental Hospital, and Al-Safa Specialty Hospital. All injuries are currently under medical treatment. The spokesperson also noted that a traffic investigation will be launched to determine the cause of the accident.

The Cabinet on Sunday, in a session chaired by Prime Minister Jafar Hassan, approves the National Policy and Strategy for Quality and Patient Safety for 2025 to 2030 (Petra photo) - Birth, death monitoring bylaw approved to improve national mortality data - Jordan atomic energy commission to streamline operations under new bylaw AMMAN — The Cabinet on Sunday, in a session chaired by Prime Minister Jafar Hassan, approved the National Policy and Strategy for Quality and Patient Safety for 2025 to 2030. The comprehensive policy framework aims to elevate healthcare standards across the Kingdom by ensuring safe, effective and high-quality care for all citizens. The initiative is designed to improve health outcomes, enhance patient satisfaction and strengthen the resilience of the healthcare system to address both current and future challenges, according to a Prime Ministry statement. The strategy outlines a clear vision for healthcare excellence, emphasising quality, safety and best practices and encourages a unified approach to healthcare quality. It also ensures that all residents, regardless of their healthcare provider, will receive adequate care in alignment with international best practices and the objectives outlined in the Economic Modernisation Vision. The policy was developed through a cooperative effort between the Ministry of Health, the World Health Organisation (WHO), and the National Steering Committee, which included key representatives from various healthcare sectors across the Kingdom. The Cabinet also approved the validation of the 2025 Birth and Death Monitoring and Response Bylaw, which aims to improve the accuracy and comprehensiveness of birth and death data collection, requiring that any birth or death be reported within 24 hours. This will provide accurate mortality indicators such as general mortality rates, maternal and neonatal deaths and child mortality, based on internationally recognised methodologies. The Bylaw will also support the identification of causes of death, enabling the development of targeted response plans to reduce mortality rates and accelerate early preventive and therapeutic care for newborns. The Ministry of Health will also establish four national registries under the bylaw: the National Birth and Death Registry, the National Maternal Mortality Registry, the National Fetal and Neonatal Mortality Registry and a registry for specific age groups or health conditions as determined by the Minister of Health. As part of the ongoing public sector modernisation efforts, the Cabinet also approved an amended bylaw for the Civil Service and Public Administration Authority for 2025. The revised bylaw seeks to strengthen the Authority's oversight role, improve governance in decision-making, simplify procedures, enhance executive management efficiency and streamline the organisational structure, aiming to prevent overlap and duplication of responsibilities, thereby boosting performance in line with the modernisation of the public sector. The Cabinet also endorsed an amended bylaw for the administrative organisation of the Jordan Atomic Energy Commission for 2025 to improve the Commission's organisational structure and enable it to better fulfil its duties as mandated by relevant legislation. Key changes include the establishment of a data management and communication unit and the reduction of departmental structures to enhance efficiency and oversight in task execution. The Cabinet also approved recommendations from the Settlement and Conciliation Committee between the Income and Sales Tax Department and taxpayers, resolving 299 cases involving individuals and companies. The decision is aimed at stimulating economic activity, improving the business environment, and assisting taxpayers in regularising their tax status.
