‘Vodka never stopped flowing at Salman Khan's party, Russians were rolling down stairs; Bhai was rock-solid': Radhika Rao, Vinay Sapru recall epic bash

Indian Express14-05-2025

Filmmakers Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, best known for the sleeper hit Sanam Teri Kasam, recalled stories about working with Salman Khan on several musical sequences in his movies. In a new interview, the narrated a story from the sets of Lucky: No Time for Love, which marked the debut of Sneha Ullal. They said that the Russian crew members on set were extremely proud of their ability to hold their alcohol. When they were invited by Salman to a party, the directors advised them not to go because they knew that the crew wouldn't be able to handle it. But the Russians didn't heed their advice, and paid a price for it.
Appearing on the Hindi Rush YouTube channel, the filmmakers recalled, 'We told them not to go. We told them that they wouldn't come to work the next day. They said, 'We are Russians, nobody can out-drink us'. We said, 'All the best, this is Salman Khan's party, don't underestimate…' The vodka never stopped flowing, and the people kept drinking. They wanted to prove that they are the best in the world when it comes to vodka consumption.'

Radhika said, 'There were people who rolled down the steps; Russian crew members. When they came the next day, half of them were late, half of them were holding their heads. Russians are very disciplined, they don't like to be unprofessional. They said that the most shameful thing was that Salman never even swayed. He was standing like a rock. They said, 'All of us were rolling down, throwing up, and he was also drinking with us but nothing happened to him'.'
Vinay said that Salman showed up to work the next day, and didn't seem at all bothered by the party. And because he was ready to work, everybody else had to pull up their socks. Salman's father, the legendary writer Salim Khan, once revealed that Salman has had his struggles with alcohol. 'Whenever Salman feels an urge, he pours out a drink and keeps the glass in front of him, but doesn't take a sip. He just sits with it, and after a while, the urge subsides,' Salim Khan told The Times of India many years ago.
Actor Sonu Sood recently recalled a story about Salman trying to spike his drink at a party; Sonu is a teetotaler. 'I don't drink at all. Many co-stars have tried to make me try alcohol ki 'Isko aaj try karva ke rahenge'. Many have tried spiking my drink secretly. Salman bhai ko bada shauk rehta tha, kehte ki, 'Ek kaam kar zara, Red Bull ke andar daal ke laa thodi (Mix some alcohol in Red Bull)',' he told Jist.
Filmmaker Anil Sharma, who worked with Salman on the film Veer, said that the actor enjoys a drink in the evenings. 'People say that he is a drunkard and he goes to parties. These are all nonsense claims. Salman may have a drink or two to relax in the evening like any other person, but he is only focused on his work,' he told ETimes. Radhika and Vinay also praised Salman's intelligence when it comes to his work, and said that the actor is often the smartest person on set.

Are Karisma Kapoor's kids getting a share of Sunjay Kapur's wealth? Find out who might take over his Rs 31,000 crore business empire

Sunjay Kapur's untimely demise shook the film industry and business world. The billionaire took his last breath on June 12 (Thursday) due to a heart attack while playing polo in the UK. Soon after his sudden passing, the question arises who will lead his Rs 31,000 crore business empire and whether Karisma Kapoor's kids will get a share of his wealth. Sunjay Kapur's wife Priya Sachdev to inherit his Rs 10,300 crore estate Reportedly, Sunjay Kapur had a personal wealth of around USD 1.2 billion (Rs 10,300 crore) at the time of his passing. A Hindustan Times report suggests that his estate management will now pass to his current wife, Priya Sachdev, with whom he lived in the UK. However, the billionaire had already made plans to support all his children. Reportedly, Sunjay had already gifted bonds worth Rs 14 crore to his children, Samaira and Kiaan, whom he shares with his ex-wife, and actor Karisma Kapoor. In addition, they will continue to withdraw Rs 10 lakh each as monthly income. For the unversed, the actress was given an alimony of Rs 70 crore during the time of their divorce, as per The Times of India. Who will take over Sunjay Kapur's Rs 31,000 crore worth business empire? Sunjay has three children, Samaira (20) and Kiaan (14) with Karisma Kapoor and Azarias (6) with his third wife Priya Sachdev. Since none of his children are part of the company, none is competent to take over the leadership, at least at this point. Though there is no official confirmation, reports that Sunjay Kapur's sister might take over his bona fide billionaire empire. Reportedly, Sunjay was the chairman of Sona Comstar, which is an Indian automotive technology company. Founded by his father Surinder Kapur, it was Sunjay who expanded the family firm to the global markets after joining the company as Chairman in 2015 following his father's unfortunate demise. As per Bloomberg, the global market cap of Sona Comstar stands at nearly USD 4 billion (Rs 31,000 crore). Sunjay Kapur's sudden demise shook the market, and a drop of over 7% in the company's shares was registered when it opened on Friday, as per Business Today.

Kushal Tandon confirms breaking up with Shivangi Joshi 5 months ago in a now-deleted post; fans react

In October last year, television actor Kushal Tandon confirmed his relationship with his Barsatein – Mausam Pyaar Ka co-star Shivangi Joshi. However, in a new turn of events, Kushal has now confirmed that he parted ways with the actor five months ago — but later deleted the post. (Also Read: Kushal Tandon, Shivangi Joshi spark dating rumours once again as kissing video surfaces online) On Sunday, Kushal took to Instagram Stories to confirm the breakup with Shivangi. His note read: 'To all the people I love, just wanted to say, me and Shivangi (Joshi) are not together anymore. It's been 5 months so yes.' The actor later deleted the post, but eagle-eyed fans had already taken screenshots and circulated them online. The two have also unfollowed each other. The internet was not impressed with Kushal's move. One of Shivangi's fans slammed Kushal and wrote, 'Such a cheap person you are. Just a day before the premiere of her new show, you decided to announce your breakup? Shame on you, man. How insensitive of you... all for the limelight?' Another wrote, 'Well, didn't Kushal wish her success for this show launch, and now he's posting such breakup stories just one day before it airs?' Some fans, however, defended him, writing, 'Don't you think it's kind of a scam? It looks like they're getting ready for a new 'ship'... now a new pair and their compatibility will be all over the media.' While Kushal claims that he and Shivangi broke up five months ago, in March 2025, Shivangi had wished Kushal on his birthday with a loving note. She wrote, 'May this year bring you happiness, success, and everything your heart desires. Hope it's filled with exciting opportunities, growth, and beautiful moments that make you truly smile... Wishing you everything good in life... Lots of love.' Shivangi and Kushal reportedly fell in love on the sets of their show Barsatein – Mausam Pyaar Ka. Their on-screen chemistry was loved by fans, and their off-screen camaraderie fuelled dating rumours. Later, in an interview with ETimes in October, Kushal confirmed their relationship and said, 'I am not getting married right now, but I am definitely in love. We are taking it very slow. My mother desperately wants to see me married, and unka bas chale toh meri shaadi aaj hi karwa de (if it were up to her, she would get me married today itself).' Meanwhile, Shivangi is all set to share the screen with Harshad Chopda in Season 4 of Bade Achhe Lagte Hain. The show is set to premiere on Sony Entertainment Television and Sony LIV from June 16.
