'90% disappointment': Wasim Akram's statue unveiled in Hyderabad; fans can't stop laughing, triggers hilarious reactions
A statue of Wasim Akram was unveiled recently, eliciting hilarious reactions on social media (Images via X/@AliRazaSha86) A life-sized statue of cricket legend Wasim Akram , unveiled in April at Hyderabad's Niaz Stadium in Pakistan , has drawn widespread social media attention after a handle on X shared its photo, with fans expressing amusement over its unflattering appearance despite attempts to honor the fast-bowling great. The statue depicts Akram in Pakistan's 1999 World Cup jersey, capturing his signature slingy bowling action. While the sculptor accurately portrayed his body dimensions and structure, the facial features appeared distorted, with his concentrated expression appearing more like a frown and his hair making him look older than intended. "Does Wasim Akram know that it's him?" asked one social media user. "Made with 10% cement, 90% disappointment 😂," tweeted another. Did a tiger really spare a sleeping man in India? What we know about viral video
A viral video that appeared to show a tiger sniffing a man asleep on a footpath has captured millions of views across social media, sparking shock, admiration, and humour. But experts have now confirmed: the clip is AI-generated. The footage shows a large tiger calmly approaching a man sleeping outside a shuttered shop, sniffing him, and walking away without harm. Its seemingly real-life danger and the man's unflinching calm drew widespread attention. The clip was reshared by verified accounts, many mistaking the AI-generated tiger for a lion, with captions like: 'Even lion knows the power of desi," and 'Indian man survives after a Lion sniffs him and leaves him alone, thats crazy." One widely circulated post warned, 'This video showing a lion sniffing human has around 7 million views. This is AI-generated video. Imagine how AI can be used to confuse people. And now imagine AI is still at nascent stage!!' Also read: 'No time for life': Andhra Pradesh's new 10-hour work rule slammed by workers, unions Fact-checkers and visual experts later debunked the clip, citing telltale signs of AI generation, including inconsistent lighting, unnatural shadows, texture glitches, and blending issues between the animal and its surroundings. Parveen Kaswan, IFS officer, shared the video with the caption: 'This video showing a lion sniffing a human has around 7 million views. This is an AI-generated video. Imagine how AI can be used to confuse people. And now imagine AI is still at a nascent stage!!' Many took to the comments to react. A user wrote, 'Every AI generated video should have a mandatory watermark that cannot be removed.' Another added, 'The giveaway was the shop names, which are in Hindi. The only place where you can see lions roaming around like this is in Gujarat, and most of the shops there have their names written in Gujarati.'
