Euro-Mediterranean HR Monitor: Israel escalated crime of genocide in Gaza following release of soldier Alexander

The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor has confirmed that Israel escalated the crime of genocide in the Gaza Strip following the release of American-Israeli soldier Idan Alexander.
The human rights monitor said in a statement on Sunday that the Israeli occupation army has killed, on average, 81 Palestinians daily through direct shelling since the release of soldier Alexander, and 17 others through starvation and denial of medical care and essential survival needs.
The Monitor added that between May 12—the date of soldier Alexander's release—and this afternoon, the occupation army killed 564 Palestinians through direct shelling and 122 others through starvation and deprivation.
It explained that the occupation army issued approximately ten forced displacement orders during the same period, forcing approximately 300,000 people to flee.
Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor stressed that the reality has been contrary to expectations. The release of soldier Alexander was accompanied by an increase in the rate of killing, and no aid was allowed in.
The human rights monitor continued: "We recorded daily deaths of sick and elderly people due to starvation after 78 days of a comprehensive blockade, amid international silence and American statements that were not translated into action."
It explained that the occupation army's announcement of the start of a ground incursion into the north and south of the Gaza Strip threatens the lives of hundreds of thousands of Palestinians, whether through direct killing or starvation.
It emphasized that halting the crime of genocide and putting an end to violations against civilians are legal obligations that cannot be subject to any negotiations or political or security arrangements.
The Euro-Mediterranean Human Rights Monitor called on the international community to impose economic, diplomatic, and military sanctions on Israel due to its systematic and serious violation of international law.
The enemy forces renewed their aggression on the Gaza Strip since dawn on March 18, 2025, with airstrikes across the Gaza Strip, resulting in the deaths of more than 3,193 citizens and the injury of 8,993 others, reversing the ceasefire agreement.
The ceasefire with Hamas and the resistance factions lasted for approximately 60 days after its conclusion, mediated by the United States, Egypt, and Qatar. With American support, the Israeli enemy army has been committing genocide in Gaza since October 7, 2023, leaving more than 172,000 dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 14,000 missing.

Jihad mourns death of its leader, Raeq Basharat, in Tubas
Tubas - Saba: The Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine has moured the death of its leader, Raeq Abdulrahman Basharat, to the Palestinian people and the Arab and Islamic world. Basharat was assassinated by the Israeli special forces last night in the town of Tamoun, south of Tubas. In a press statement issued Wednesday, the Islamic Jihad Movement said, "The martyred leader played a prominent role during the 1987 Intifada and was subjected to an assassination attempt in 2002, during which his wife was martyred and his hands were amputated." It noted that Basharat had been arrested numerous times, totaling over nine years, and had gone on a hunger strike for 53 days in 2022 to protest his administrative detention before his release. Israeli Knesset to vote today to dissolve itself
