Cyriel Dessers urged to complete Rangers transfer exit
Greek fitness coach Polychronopoulos worked with Dessers and was at Ibrox for eight years before leaving last year to join Leeds United.
And he reckons Dessers would be a good fit for AEK Athens.
He said: "Personally, I think it would be a very good move for Cyriel and AEK to make this transfer.
"He is an excellent character and highly professional. A kind person, always with a smile on his face and this is something that plays an important role.
"In both his first season at Rangers and his second, he played in almost every game and that says a lot. He is always available and does not get injured.

Leeds sign German forward Nmecha from Wolfsburg
Leeds United have announced the signing of Germany forward Lukas Nmecha on a two-year joins from Bundesliga side Wolfsburg, who he had been with for the past four 26-year-old started his career with Manchester City and made his Premier League debut under Pep Guardiola in enjoyed loan spells at Preston North End, Wolfsburg, Middlesbrough and Anderlecht before making a permanent move to the Bundesliga in that same year he made his debut for the German national side, winning the most recent of his seven caps in who scored 19 goals in 85 appearances in his second Wolfsburg stint, becomes Daniel Farke's first summer signing and will join Leeds officially on 1 July.

And his name is Joe Gelhardt – a potential signing that makes sense for more reasons than you may think. Andrew Cavenagh and the new owners at Ibrox are in the early stages of what should be a dramatic rebuild and finding the new man to bang in the goals will be key to that – particularly with the news that Cyriel Dessers could be on his way to AEK Athens as a deal in the region of £5m is being thrashed out. There's no official alliance with Leeds but their chairman Paraag Marathe joining the Ibrox board after the San Francisco 49ers-backed takeover tells you there is likely to be some crossover. And after the Elland Road side today added former Man City forward Nmecha to their ranks in their first addition of the summer, it opens the door for Rangers to move for a long-term target. Back in January it was heavily reported they were keen on striker Gelhardt, who has long been viewed as a rising star but now looks in need of a fresh start. In the end he stayed close to home, instead joining Hull City where he scored five goals in 20 appearances. But with Leeds now tooling up for life back in the Premier League with Nmecha's arrival, his prospects of an Elland Road revival look slim to non-existent. His reasonable goalscoring form at Hull, coupled with Leeds' strengthened negotiating position and a contract which still has two years to run, mean he won't come dirt cheap. But a reasonable £3m asking price has been mooted down south – meaning Dessers' exit would be able to fund it with some change left over. An outright sale for Gelhardt seems more likely than a loan deal at this stage of his career and, if they do decide to go down that route, there's an obvious reason Rangers would be the preferred bidder. That would allow them to part ways while keeping a close eye on his development at a club under the same ownership umbrella – and potentially include a favourable buy-back option in the event that he hits the ground running at Ibrox. Gelhardt, now 23, has been capped by England up to U20 level but hasn't really kicked on since his £1m move from Wigan in 2020. He's played against Russell Martin's Southampton team in the past so will be known to the new man at the helm. He's spent time on loan at Sunderland and more recently Hull where he featured in a number of attacking positions, although is primarily a central forward and may relish the chance to nail down the No.9 jersey at his next club.
