Mahindra Thar Roxx Joins Nagaland Police Fleet
Nagaland Police had inducted the Mahindra Thar Roxx as its latest vehicle. The SUV was launched in the Indian market in 2024. Since then, the SUV has gained popularity in the country and is known for its off-road capabilities. This is the latest addition to the list of cars that have been added to the police fleet in the country, joining models like Innova, Bolero, Mahindra Thar, Mahindra Scorpio, Maruti Suzuki Ertiga, and more.
In its configuration as a police vehicle, the Mahindra Thar Roxx features two blue stripes that run parallel to each other. Between these stripes, the word 'POLICE' is displayed prominently in a large font. The upper part of both the front and rear windshields also displays the word 'POLICE'. The roof is equipped with standard strobe lights typically found on police vehicles.

At the front, the Roxx police variant is also fitted with fender guides. Aside from these modifications, there are no significant customizations. Only a few accessories, like rain visors on all side doors, have been added.
Currently, the Mahindra Thar Roxx has a base price of Rs 12.99 lakh (ex-showroom) and can reach up to Rs 23.09 lakh (ex-showroom). It is available with the option of a petrol or a diesel engine. Specifically, it comes with a 2.0-litre TGDi petrol engine featuring a 2WD configuration or a 2.2-litre diesel engine equipped with RWD and 4x4. These qualities make it a suitable option for police duties. The vehicle offers transmission choices of both manual and automatic.
In addition, it is loaded with various features, including Level 2 ADAS capabilities, a panoramic sunroof, a 10.24-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and more.

China, the world's biggest producer of rare earth elements, has begun restricting exports of the minerals as it increasingly weaponises its dominance over this supply chain and uses it as geopolitical leverage over opponents.
