China ‘involved' in Russia's ‘war effort' against Ukraine
ASPI Senior Analyst Malcom Davis discusses the concern of China being involved in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.
'There has already been some suggestion that there are Chinese troops involved in the fighting as volunteers,' Mr Davis told Sky News host Caleb Bond.
'The Chinese government is already involved to a degree in terms of supplying militarily relevant technologies to Russia that allow them to develop new military capabilities.
'China is also assisting Russia to circumvent sanctions imposed by the West.
'That's allowed Russia to reorient its economy into a wartime mode.
'As a result, be in a much better position to sustain the Ukraine war effort.'

Victory Metals Chief Executive Brendan Clark says China is 'weaponising' rare earth metals and has now secured a monopoly. 'It's very, very, scary that one country as powerful as China has such a monopoly on the rare earths space that we need in our everyday lives and for our national defence.'
