Marc Skinner's side defeated Manchester City 2-0 in the semi-finals and took the lead against Bayern in the seven-a-side event but ultimately fell to a 2-1 loss.
United's efforts still earned them one million euros (approximately £840,000), with Bayern taking home 2.5million euros (approximately £2.1million).

United goalkeeper Phallon Tullis-Joyce and Bayern counterpart Ena Mahmutovic had both made good saves before United took the lead just before half-time against the run of play, Melvine Malard setting up Simi Awujo for a fizzing finish.
But Bayern responded strongly and Momoko Tanikawa, who scored twice in their 5-0 semi-final win over Paris St Germain, equalised before Sarah Zadrazil struck the winner with three minutes remaining.
Ella Toone sat out Friday's matches with what the PA news agency understands is some tightness, with the England star keen not to take any risks ahead of the European Championship.
Earlier, goals from Malard and Gabby George were enough to give United victory over City.

Malard opened the scoring in only the fourth minute with a terrific volley into the top corner that gave Khiara Keating no chance.
Keating was a key last line of defence for City in the remainder of the first half, though, denying Grace Clinton and Malard again with fine saves.
United kept up the pressure at the start of the second period of 15 minutes and Clinton hit the crossbar before George made sure of the victory with a near-post finish.
City eventually finished fourth after losing 3-1 to PSG in the third-placed play-off.

Jose Mourinho responds to claims he will make sensational return to former club

Jose Mourinho has dismissed suggestions he is set to make a sensational return to Inter Milan. Just days after their humiliating Champions League final defeat to Paris Saint-Germain, Inter were on the search for a new head coach with Simone Inzaghi stepping down. The Italian walked away from San Siro after four years at the helm, heading to Saudi Arabia to take the reins at Al-Hilal. Inter were eager to appoint Cesc Fabregas his successor only for the former Arsenal and Chelsea star to pledge his immediate future to Como during the week. Christian Chivu is now expected to be confirmed as the new Nerazzurri boss – but reports claimed Inter first targeted his former manager. Mourinho led Inter to a historic treble in 2010 with Chivu part of the side that conquered Italy and Europe. 'The Special One' has just finished his first season in Turkey with Fenerbahce, finishing nine points behind champions Galatasaray. Italian newspaper Repubblica claimed this week Mourinho was Inter's first choice option before Chivu was approached. But the former Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham boss has rubbished those claims. In a message sent to Italian journalist Ivan Zazzaroni through FCInter, Mourinho wrote: 'It's a big lie. There was never even any contact. 'They say this for pissed off people. And so they say it was difficult to leave Fenerbahce and blah blah blah.' Inter are expected to confirm the appointment of former Romania international Chivu in the coming days after a brief spell in charge at Parma. More Trending One of the first items in his in-tray will be Rasmus Hojlund with Inter in talks to sign the Manchester United striker. After a miserable second season at Old Trafford, United are ready to listen to reasonable offers for the striker who cost them £72million just two years ago. Hojlund is thought to have given the move the green light with it now down to United and Inter to agree a deal. United are hoping for a permanent sale but Inter's current offer is season-long loan with an option to buy for €45million. Three Premier League clubs want to sign Alejandro Garnacho as Man Utd make final

Manchester United are ready to sell Alejandro Garnacho this summer amid interest from three Premier League clubs. The Argentina international's season ended in controversial circumstances following his outspoken reaction to being left out of the starting XI for the Europa League final defeat against Tottenham. Garnacho was subsequently excluded from the matchday squad on the final day of the Premier League campaign, but did feature on the club's post season tour of Asia. Despite yet another display of petulance, Ruben Amorim maintained he saw a future for the winger at Old Trafford. Little more than a week on since that public declaration, however, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that it has been agreed there will be a clean break between player and club this summer. Erik ten Hag, newly installed as Bayer Leverkusen's manager, is credited with an interest in a player who thrived under his tutelage at United. The potential fee and wages, however, would represent a major stumbling block and, at this stage, it appears that Garnacho could well remain in England. A trio of Premier League clubs have expressed an interest in a player whose future will be resolved in the coming weeks. Chelsea looked at signing the 20-year-old in January and are in the market for attacking reinforcements, especially now they have reneged on their plan to turn Jadon Sancho's loan move from United into a permanent deal. The Red Devils, meanwhile, have already started their summer recruitment drive by agreeing a deal to sign Wolves' Matteus Cunha, and are hopeful of agreeing a fee with Brentford for Bryan Mbeumo. United were also boosted this week by Bruno Fernandes turning down a lucrative move to Saudi Arabia. The 30-year-old Portugal international has been the subject of speculation linking him with a £100million switch to Al Hilal, with the Saudi Pro League side reportedly prepared to pay him £700,000 per week. Former United and England defender Neville told Sky Sports News: 'It's significant. 'I think that there was an element of this situation that meant United getting that level of money, for someone of Bruno's age, obviously, you couldn't say that it would have been a bad deal. 'But, on the other hand, Manchester United's star player – only player at times – for the last four, five, six years, has been Bruno Fernandes. He's so important. 'The fact that he wants to stay, the fact that he wants to go through this and come out the other side, because it would have been easy for him at the end of this season to say, 'Look, I'm done here', will endear him towards Manchester United fans even more. 'To turn that money down at a point where Manchester United are at their lowest ebb and say, 'No, I want to fight through this, I want to see it through the other side, I want to come out and achieve things,' I think it says a lot about him as a person, as a character. 'The club needs people who are going to run through a brick wall for them.' Jadon Sancho's stance on playing for Man Utd again after Chelsea's £5m decision

Jadon Sancho is facing an uncertain future in the summer transfer window after Chelsea's decision not to sign him permanently forced Manchester United to confront their previous mistakes Manchester United have been handed a serious problem after Chelsea refused to sign Jadon Sancho permanently, because he has no intention of ever playing for the club again. Sancho had appeared set to join the Blues permanently after spending the season on loan in west London, only for negotiations to break down. Chelsea ultimately decided they would rather pay United a £5million fee than go through with signing the winger for £25m. Sancho is paid around £300,000 per week by United and he and Chelsea had been unable to find a compromise on his wages, forcing a rethink for all parties. ‌ United are desperate to sell off their unwanted players in the summer transfer window, in order to help fund a rebuild under Ruben Amorim. Sancho had appeared to be the most straightforward deal, with Chelsea lumbered with an obligation to buy the 25-year-old, only for the move to break down. ‌ He has now joined the list of other unwanted players United must find buyers for, which also includes fellow loanees Marcus Rashford and Antony, and wantaway winger Alejandro Garnacho. Keeping Sancho for the 2025/26 campaign under Amorim is not a viable option, with ESPN reporting that he has no intention of pulling the United shirt on again. His stance matches that of Amorim, who doesn't want him in his squad when the next season begins. Sancho returned five goals and 10 assists in 42 appearances across all competitions for Chelsea, helping them win the Conference League – a solid if unspectacular effort which won't help their efforts to sell him. The report states that there is tentative interest from West Ham, although Sancho's wages will be problematic. He has another year left on his contract with United, who are reluctant to buy out the winger in order to grease the wheels of his exit. Sancho has been a flop of significant proportions since signing from Borussia Dortmund in 2021 for £73m. He has just 12 goals and six assists in 83 games for United over four years and has not come close to matching the potential shown at Dortmund. HAVE YOUR SAY! What does the future hold for Jadon Sancho? Comment below. ‌ He was absolutely electric in Germany, where he managed 40 goals and 47 assists in 118 appearances for Dortmund, but has struggled to replicate that form in England. A potential move back to the Bundesliga was potentially on the cards with Bayer Leverkusen, until the club hired Erik ten Hag as manager to shut that door. Ten Hag fell out with Sancho over his apparent lack of effort in training at Carrington and it was the Dutchman who prompted his loan move back to Dortmund in January 2024.
