Greenville ENC Alliance launches new edition of livability magazine
GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — The Greenville ENC Alliance published a new edition of their Livability Magazine.
The Greenville ENC Alliance has partnered with Livability Media for a second year to represent Greenville as a great place to live, work, and visit.
A magazine that offers a collection of Greenville SOPS, things to do, education, and more, will help to attract more residents to opportunities in the area.
'This issue is important for us because we highlight a couple of things. One. How this is a great place to raise a family. It's fun for families,' President and CEO of Greenville ENC Alliance, Josh Lewis said. 'That's kind of leading tagline of the magazine but also share stories about people that have located here their transplants and sharing their experiences about integrating in the community and putting down roots.'
The magazine also aims to give readers perspectives from recent relocated professionals in the area.
'Readers will gain perspectives from recently relocated professionals and returning families on what makes this area such a great place to live,' Lewis added. 'The reality is that few small metro areas offer the quality of healthcare, access to education, and career opportunities that we have available. Add these attributes to an emerging downtown district, access to parks and greenways, and being located approximately an hour and a half from some of the best beaches in the world and you have the ingredients to create a great sense of place.'
The new edition of Livability Greenville-Pitt County is published by Livability Media and is available by clicking here.

Huey Lewis says he ‘can't hear music' after severe hearing loss
Huey Lewis has revealed that he can no longer hear music due to severe hearing loss. The Grammy-winning singer-songwriter, 74, was diagnosed with Ménière's disease in 2018. The inner ear disorder can cause severe dizziness, tinnitus and hearing loss. Speaking to People, Lewis said he had surgery to help deal with the condition. "I'm no spring chicken, so something's going to happen at some point and this is my cross to bear,' said Lewis. 'I have a cochlear implant in my head that now enables me to hear speech much better. I lost bilaterally, my hearing ... the intense vertigo — knock on wood — I have kind of outgrown. I'm mildly dizzy all the time, and my hearing just went to zero. 'And now I have a cochlear implant, so I'm much better that way, but I can't hear music.' Lewis lamented the loss of music in his life, saying: 'The worst part is that means it's bad enough not to be able to perform and sing and play, but it's really bad not to even be able to enjoy music.' He described performing and recording as 'the best feeling in the world' but added: 'I'm never going to get there. I mean, I might get to where I can try to, and I'm not going to give up. I'm going to try. But geez, that kind of fun, that kind of great ride. I doubt I'm ever going to see that ... feel that again.' Earlier this week, Lewis took part in an appeal by the cast of Back to the Future to track down the iconic Cherry Red Gibson ES-345 guitar used in the film. Lewis and his band Huey Lewis and the News performed the soundtrack's headline song 'The Power of Love'. As the movie commemorates its 40th anniversary, Gibson is producing a documentary, Lost to the Future, chronicling the search for the elusive guitar and the film's legacy. In the film, Michael J Fox's Marty McFly steps in for an injured band member at the 1955 school dance with the theme 'Enchantment under the Sea', playing the guitar as students slow dance to 'Earth Angel'. He then leads Marvin Berry and the Starlighters in a rendition of 'Johnny B. Goode', calling it an oldie where he comes was from even though the 1958 song doesn't exist yet for his audience. Fox said he wanted McFly to riff through his favorite guitarists' signature styles – Jimi Hendrix behind the head, Pete Townshend's windmill and the Eddie Van Halen hammer. After digging and dancing to 'Johnny B. Goode', the students at the dance fall into an awkward silence as McFly's riffs turn increasingly wild. 'I guess you guys aren't ready for that yet,' McFly says. 'But your kids are gonna love it.'

Marcedes Lewis hasn't discussed teaming up with Aaron Rodgers, Steelers, TE says
Marcedes Lewis hasn't discussed teaming up with Aaron Rodgers, Steelers, TE says Show Caption Hide Caption Former NFL QB Alex Smith weighs in on the Aaron Rodgers situation Alex Smith explains why Aaron Rodgers should return for at least one more year. Sports Seriously Marcedes Lewis is hoping to suit up for a 20th and final NFL season in 2025. Could the 41-year-old seek to reunite with his former teammate Aaron Rodgers to achieve his goal? Lewis was asked by Kay Adams on the Friday, May 29 episode of her "Up and Adams" show about the possibility of playing with Rodgers to close his career. The 2006 first-round pick revealed it is something the two discussed during their five seasons together with the Green Bay Packers. "It's always been something A-Rod would bring up, even when we were in Green Bay," Lewis said. "He was like, 'Hey, we gotta retire together.'" Lewis explained that he and Rodgers "connected and became really good friends" while they were with the Packers. He credited their willingness to put in the work to find consistent success with being the "thread" between them. Does that connection mean Lewis could end up with the Pittsburgh Steelers if Rodgers signs with the organization? The veteran tight end threw cold water on that theory for the time being. "Nah, we haven't talked about playing with the Steelers," Lewis said. "No." Perhaps that will change if Rodgers signs or if the Steelers dip into the tight end market after losing projected third-stringer Donald Parham to a torn Achilles. OPINION: Signing Aaron Rodgers is wrong move for Steelers at this point Lewis spent the last two seasons of his career with the Chicago Bears and played 19.37% of the team's offensive snaps in 2024. He had just one catch for two yards but thrived as a blocker, grading as Pro Football Focus' 12th-best pass blocker among tight ends. Lewis – who also suited up for all 17 games, marking the fourth consecutive season he achieved that goal – is hoping to find a similar role as he seeks out a new landing spot for the upcoming NFL season. "For me, it's just ... whoever values me and respects me and knows my skill set and [is] able to put me in position to play and not just be a guy on the sideline thinking that I'm 'just an older guy,'" Lewis said when explaining where he would like to play in 2025.
