Ram Charan Promises Peddi Will Be 'Larger', More Emotional Than Rangasthalam

Ram Charan has reached a new milestone in his career by becoming the first Indian celebrity to have a wax statue at Madame Tussauds in London alongside his pet dog, Rhyme. The unveiling ceremony saw the actor joined by his family, including wife Upasana and father, veteran star Chiranjeevi.
Speaking at the event, Ram Charan also opened up about his much-anticipated film Peddi. He revealed that 30 per cent of the shoot has been completed and expressed excitement about the progress so far. 'The entire team is ecstatic with how the film is shaping up. Peddi will have a larger canvas and greater emotional depth than Rangasthalam. It will connect deeply with audiences. I'll resume shooting around mid-May," he told 123 Telugu.
Directed by Buchi Babu Sana, Peddi is a sports drama set in Srikakulam and stars Janhvi Kapoor, Divyendu Sharma, Jagapathi Babu, and Shiva Rajkumar in key roles. The film is slated for a theatrical release next year.
The project also boasts an impressive technical crew, with music by AR Rahman, cinematography by R. Rathnavelu, editing by Navin Nooli, and production design by Avinash Kolla.
On the actor's 40th birthday this year, the makers of Peddi unveiled his first-look posters, which set the internet on fire. The first poster shows Ram Charan with a beard, long hair, a nose ring, and a cigar. In the second poster, he is shown carrying an old cricket bat at a rural stadium lit by floodlights.Sharing the poster, Buchi Babu Sana wrote in the caption, 'Happy Birthday, my Dear @AlwaysRamCharan Sir…In one word, you are Gold, Sir."

Notably, Peddi marks Charan's second collaboration with the director after their 2018 hit Rangasthalam, in which Buchi Babu Sana worked as a screenwriter. It was a massive commercial and critical success and became one of the highest-grossing Telugu films.
Charan was last seen in the political thriller Game Changer, opposite Kiara Advani. Directed by Shankar, the film failed to perform at the box office.
