#SHOWBIZ: Halim Othman's quiet life: Comfortable, not lavish
KUALA LUMPUR: Former radio presenter and TV host Halim Othman says he is now enjoying a more relaxed pace of life since he is no longer affiliated with any company.
Yesterday, Harian Metro reported that despite not holding a full-time job, the 60-year-old celebrity, widely recognised as the host of the game show Roda Impian between 1996 and 2002, expressed gratitude that his financial stability allows him to pursue his interests rather than having to work as intensely as he did in his younger years.
"Thankfully, I have some savings for my later years," he said.
"It's not that I've stopped working entirely, but I no longer need to work so hard."
He added, "Now I can focus on projects that align with my interests, even if they yield modest income. This means I'm not desperate, but I'm also not living extravagantly."
Halim mentioned several upcoming projects where he intends to leverage his extensive past experiences. A significant one is writing his autobiography.
"I want to try my hand at writing, which I've found isn't easy. While I'm accustomed to speaking, writing demands focus and determination – it's a new challenge for me," he explained.
Halim has also ventured into live TikTok sessions, something he admits to enjoying.
He appreciates the freedom those sessions offer compared to his radio DJ days, as he now has complete control each time he goes live.
"I'm particularly happy when followers provide positive feedback during these sessions," he said.

Meanwhile, Muntazar has refuted Saidah's claims that he was unable to afford their wedding. The actor explained that he told her he had additional funds invested in unit trusts. "I told Saidah about it, but she told me that's investment savings and not actual money. If it's true that I have only RM500 in savings, how is it possible for me to pay close to RM1,000 monthly for my car while also giving my family around RM1,000?" he argued.

KUALA LUMPUR: After two decades in the music industry, singer Imran Ajmain is back with the boldest and most significant project of his career: a remix album titled 'Sila Ambil Perhatian,' released today. "This album is for everyone – for those who grew up with full albums and also for the TikTok generation," said 44-year-old Imran when met at a private listening party in the capital, recently. This album isn't just a compilation of past works; it's a fresh and diverse reinterpretation. Featuring 37 tracks in new versions, the album guides listeners through Imran's musical journey, spanning genres like pop, R&B, acoustic, electronic, and hip hop. It also includes collaborations with a variety of artistes and producers, such as Ahmadul Amin, Late Nite Frequency, Firwan Johan, Cheryl Samad, and Siti Sairah Tarudin. "I gave other creators the chance to rework my songs, and the results were truly surprising," Imran said. "I've wanted to do this for a long time. Twenty years of work, and finally, everything is brought together in one remix album. It's truly a dream come true." Some of the songs given new life in the album include 'Selamat Ulang Tahun Sayang' and 'Seribu Tahun,' which feature rough demo versions and traditional arrangements by Faliq Auri, incorporating flute and woodwind instruments.
