Russell Grant's horoscopes as Capricorn to set some time aside to help a new colleague
Today's horoscope for Tuesday July 1 sees one star sign shows some patience, while another deals with emotional distance.
Today's daily horoscopes for each star sign can be found below. These daily forecasts have been compiled by astrologer Russell Grant who has been reading star signs for more than 50 years.
Aries (Mar 21 - Apr 20)
You've been so excited about a project that is about to begin that you have failed to recognise there are problems in your plans. It's not easy to accept there are flaws and while a positive mindset will take you a long way, this will not overcome poor reasoning.
Taurus (Apr 21 - May 21)
Put work before socialising. Focus on business, not pleasure. This also means steer clear of fun activities tonight. Use your creativity to tackle those jobs you have put aside recently. Completing these will lead to success. At home, don't let emotions get the better of you.
Gemini (May 22 - June 21)
Great things will often come for those who are willing to wait and show patience. Patience now is a valuable quality and this should be your guiding principle today. Keep in mind that when you start something new, the outcome is unlikely to be immediate.
Cancer (June 22 - July 23)
Exercise caution in financial and business transactions. Refuse to sign contracts until you have thoroughly reviewed documents; multiple times even if you feel this is necessary. If you are sincere in all transactions, you should have a reasonably successful day.
Leo (July 24 - Aug 23)
You're experiencing a wonderful sense of happiness and satisfaction. Your friendliness makes you very approachable. Friends and colleagues make it obvious they are enjoying your company. Don't hesitate to share your thoughts and suggestions with them.
Virgo (Aug 24 - Sept 23)
Agree to talk with someone who has recently hurt you. It is possible to get this relationship back to the way it used to be. Sharing experiences with someone you love will lead to greater happiness and a more fulfilling lifestyle. Holding on to anger will become increasingly difficult as time goes by.
Libra (Sept 24 - Oct 23)
There seems to be an emotional distance between you and a partner. Normally you understand each other well, but not today. Although you feel a sense of guilt, there is also a relief in having some space from each other. Keep emotions private and avoid revealing that anything is amiss to others.
Scorpio (Oct 24 - Nov 22)
You aren't short of things to do. There are lots that can keep you happily occupied as you wait for the results of recent endeavours. Accept there is nothing else that you can do other than get on with other things until you receive the news you are waiting for.

Sagittarius (Nov 23 - Dec 21)
As you listen to everyone else's opinions you might lose touch with your own. Pause and take a little time to pay attention to your thoughts. This will provide you with valuable insights that will help you speed up progress towards your personal goals.
Capricorn (Dec 22 - Jan 20)
It may be necessary for you to set some time aside to help a new colleague or neighbour. Many people look to you as being the one to guide those who are just starting at your company. Your practical assistance and patience is appreciated.
Aquarius (Jan 21 - Feb 19)
People in power are starting to recognise that you have the ability to achieve nearly anything you focus on. Make the most of any opportunity they put your way. Encourage a partner to reach an agreement with you on joint plans for the future. Stay optimistic.
Pisces (Feb 20 - Mar 20)
Important details are being overlooked and that's because you have lost interest in your work. This may be temporary or it could be you are ready for a change. One way to find out is to take a step back and consider what you truly want.

Rockstar David Roach from Junkyard announces he's been diagnosed with 'very aggressive' cancer
Rockstar David Roach has announced he's been diagnosed with a 'very aggressive' form of cancer in a health update shared on Monday. The musician, who has fronted U.S. heavy metal band Junkyard since 1987, revealed he has squamous cell carcinoma, which is 'affecting his head, neck, and throat'. Last week, David admitted recent results 'completely shattered our world', with the band starting a GoFundMe page to help with medical costs. In an update shared to the band's Instagram, a message from the singer and his fiancee Jennifer read: 'First off, we want to thank you all for the overwhelming support and love you've shown us during this incredibly challenging time. 'We wish we could respond to each of you, but honestly, there are no words right now. We're still struggling to process the news we received on Tuesday. 'After David's ongoing fever and cough led us to the ER, we got results that have completely shattered our world.' They continued: 'It's devastating and life-altering, and we're trying to navigate through the emotions and uncertainty that come with it. 'David is showing such incredible strength and resilience, and even in the midst of this darkness, he's still managing to keep his sense of humor. It's a reminder of how amazing he is. 'But we know this journey ahead will be extremely tough, David made it clear he is not giving up hope and we're going to need all of your love and prayers. 'Thank you for standing by us. Your kindness and support mean everything to us. Please keep David in your thoughts as we take this one step at a time.' Fundraiser: The band has started a GoFundMe to help with medical costs for David Squamous cell carcinoma is a type of cancer that develops in the squamous cells, which are found on the surface of the skin and in the lining of many organs. It often develops in sun-exposed areas like the face, ears, neck, and back, but can occur anywhere on the body. If caught early, the five-year survival rate is around 99 per cent. But when the cancer has spread beyond the skin or origin site, the five-year survival rate drops to less than 50 per cent. Around 1.8million Americans are diagnosed per year and up to 15,000 die from the disease. A statement previously published by the band read: 'As many of you know, David who is a friend to all is in the fight of his life battling aggressive squamous cell carcinoma affecting his head, neck, and throat. 'Currently David requires around the clock care and supervision. David's fiancee Jennifer has had to step away from traditional employment to become his full time care giver. 'While they have applied for disability and full time caregivers assistance it is an extremely long waiting period to go through the processing and receive approval. This has put them in a dire situation. 'This has been a devastating blow for David especially after he finally found happiness, stability, and things were going well for him.'

Tulisa devastated after famous dad's death as N-Dubz cousin Dappy speaks out
Steve Contostavlos, also known as Pluto, has passed away. His daughter, Tulisa paid tribute to him in an emotional post. Steve Constostavlos has sadly died as his daughter, Tulisa has paid a poignant tribute. The N-Dubz star shared a childhood snap of her cuddling upto the keyboard player, who went by the name of Plato, and wrote: "Love you pops, rest in peace. Forever my father's daughter" reports the Mirror. Her cousin Dappy, who is also in N-Dubz alongside her and Frazer, also paid tribute to Steve as he shared a video of himself on social media with his uncle alongside a white dove emoji. Tulisa posted a broken heart emoji on the post, with Dappy responding to her: "I'm so sorry T." Last year, the former X-Factor judge opened up about her 'unconventional relationship' with her dad. She said on Paul Brunson's podcast We Need To Talk: "Me and my dad's relationship has not been a conventional one. "I would say me and my dad now we're just more friends that kind of have an understanding of one another." Tulisa's dad Steve honed his own successful music career as the keyboardist for Mungo Jerry. The band was largely successful in the 70s after landing number one his In The Summertime, with Plato playing on keyboard. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! His brother Byron - Dappy's dad - played bass guitar in the group. Tulisa previously opened up to Fearne Cotton on her Happy Place podcast about growing up in a musical household. Fearne told Tulisa: "You grew up in a really musical household. Your mum was a singer, your dad was in Mungo Jerry and you had that sense that music was something that was important." Tulisa answered: "My dad had a little studio in Dollis Hill and he used to bring me there sometimes when he was working. He put me on the mic at the age of five. I was singing Little Mermaid. "I just knew there was nothing else I felt passionate about." Steve once candidly discussed how he taught Tulisa to stand up for herself after getting relentlessly bullied at school over her mum's mental health. Her mum, Ann, suffered from schizophrenia, which saw her in and out of hospital as she slipped into terrifying psychotic episodes, leaving her unable to look after herself, let alone her daughter. Children in her class began to tease Tulisa about her mother's condition, leaving her to sob for days over their taunts. He revealed to the Sunday Mirror that he taught her to stick up for herself. "My daughter was horribly bullied. It was awful. Children would scream, 'Your mum's a loony'," he said in 2012. "Tulisa was about five years old when it first started. She would come home crying all the time. "In the end I had to tell her, 'I can't go and sort this problem out for you. This is the kind of thing you are going to face in life and you have to stand up for yourself'. "Then one day when she was about seven, after I had trained her for about six months, she came back from school and said, ' Dad I knocked one of them out. You were right Dad, I did it'. It had to be done, the misery that child went through at school was unbelievable. Every time she went in she was terrified."

Donald Macdonald dies as tributes paid to popular kids TV presenter
Famed for hosting children's show Play School, the "showbiz great" lost his short battle with cancer on Monday. Veteran TV presenter Donald Macdonald has died aged 86. Famed for hosting children's show Play School, the "showbiz great" lost his short battle with cancer on Monday. As reported by the Mirror, his career spanned more than 40 years and saw him star in a number of stage shows - including John McKellar's A Cup of Tea, a Bex and a Good Lie Down - as well as TV dramas he also wrote. He is best remembered, however, for entertaining families on iconic BBC show Play School, which Donald presented from 1966 to 1969 alongside other famous faces, such as Trisha Goddard. Journalist Craig Bennett shared on his social media yesterday: "One of our showbiz greats left us at 12:45am today. "Donald Macdonald was a stalwart of stage and screen, who'd written smash-hit plays like Caravan, dazzled on London's West End, and delighted millions over the decades with his starring turns on TV series like Play School where he was a presenter from 1966 to 1969." Bennett, who is based in Australia where Donald was born, added: "He guested on shows from Certain Women, The Box, Cop Shop and Skyways, to the raunchy Alvin Purple, and in movies like Superman Returns. Donald was a dapper delight and always great company." Donald enjoyed early success as a stage actor in Australia before moving to the UK in the mid-1960s to broaden his career. He was able to write more theatre work, including Caravan, a comedic play about three couples on a hapless holiday together. He continued to act, and film credits included Superman Returns and Kenny. However, a short journey with cancer put pay to acting and presenting in recent years, and Donald died in Australia on Monday. The performer spent time with his cousins Paula Duncan and Amelia Barrett during his last days. Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Mr Bennett's social media post continued: "On Saturday we turned his hospital room into a party, laughs and smiles a-plenty, as Donald enjoyed some bubbly and lemon meringue pie. Blue was always his colour, even in a hospital gown! He gave his permission to post his last photo, saying 'what the heck!' Vale to a true gentleman." Facebook users responded to the journalist's post, sharing their sadness at the showbiz star's passing. One fellow actor wrote: "Honoured to have appeared in two of his plays. The consummate gentleman. And, no one played a High Court Judge like Donald. RIP." Another shared: "We were VERY LUCKY to meet Donald through you both, get to know him, and be entertained by his lovely demeanor, sharp wit and of course his writing skills. What a lovely, gentle man."
