Teenage passenger who died in crash is named
A teenage car passenger who died in a crash has been named by police.
Timothy Paul Jolley, 19, died when an Audi S4 and Volkswagen Up collided on the A5087 Coast Road at Rampside in Barrow, Cumbria, at about 13:00 BST on Friday.
Mr Jolley, from Ulverston, was a passenger in the Volkswagen. The driver, a man also in his late teens, remains in a stable condition in hospital.
The 20-year-old male driver of the Audi, who comes from Barrow, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving while over the prescribed limit of a specified drug. He was released pending further investigations.
Cumbria Police has urged witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to contact detectives.
The force said it was looking for the driver or any passengers in a white car that was travelling on the Coast Road, heading away from Barrow, at about the time the collision happened.

Car passenger shoots at pedestrian in town centre
A car passenger shot at a pedestrian in a town centre street, police have said. Thames Valley Police said the shooting happened at 18:10 BST on Tuesday in Broad Street, Chesham, in Buckinghamshire A man in his 30s suffered shoulder injuries when he was shot at by a passenger in a silver Volkswagen Scirocco, the force said. "I appreciate that news of this incident will come as a shock to residents of Chesham," said Det Insp Paddy Navin. The Volkswagen Scirocco drove off. The victim was taken to hospital but has since been discharged. Det Insp Navin said: "I want to reassure the community that we believe this was an isolated incident and the offender and victim were known to each other." He said a "potential key witness" was a man in a yellow Audi, who was seen speaking to the victim before the shooting. The last three letters of the Audi's number plate were ARV. State troopers investigating shooting on I-95 in New Haven
State police are investigating a shooting on Interstate 95 in New Haven on Monday after a vehicle was struck by gunfire. The shooting was reported at 5:08 p.m. on the northbound side of the highway in the area of Exit 46, according to Connecticut State Police. Troopers responded to the area and found that one driver's vehicle was hit by gunfire that reportedly came from a shooter in a white Audi, state police said. No injuries were reported. The Audi was last seen possibly getting onto Interstate 91 before leaving the highway. Parts of I-95 and I-91 were closed for a brief time while troopers investigated. Anyone with information has been asked to contact state police at 203-696-2500.
