Walmart Associates Week draws big crowd to Northwest Arkansas
BENTONVILLE, Ark. (KNWA/FOX24) — The annual Walmart Associates Week 2025 has brought more than 4,000 employees to Northwest Arkansas. The event originally started in 1970 as a meeting exclusively between the company's shareholders. However, in 2018 the Walton family, decided to make a weeklong event full of team building exercises, business meetings and surprise concerts. Associates from all over the world made their way to our area to help celebrate the work that the company is doing. One associate from California, Cassandra Craven, said the support from the company is overwhelming. 'What's so cool is all the associates from all walks of life, all over the globe, coming together in one place unlike anything I've ever seen,' Craven said. 'All the international teams come in… I meet a lot of people on a daily basis, but this is nothing like I've ever experienced before.' The history of the Walmart Shareholders' Meeting A marketing manager at a Sam's Club in Oklahoma, Bill Campbell, said that giving back to the Walmart community makes the whole week worth it. 'We've been going to the expos; associates went to a concert last night,' Campbell said. 'I'll tell you I've had multiple associates tell me that this is one of the best things I've ever done in their life.' The week caps off on June 6, with one final send off at Bud Walton Arena starting at 8 a.m. The final celebration will consist of a final meeting, entertainment and an appearance from Walmart president and CEO, Doug McMillon. Amazon's New Fashion Arrivals Include Lightweight Summer Essentials That Are Travel-friendly—All Under $50
You shouldn't work up a sweat just sitting in summer travel clothes, which is why it's important to invest in lightweight, breathable pieces. Thankfully, Amazon just dropped a selection of clothing and shoes that are breezy and comfortable for summer trips. Amazon's Hot New Releases store features tons of fresh fashion arrivals, including some summer-friendly options to complete your vacation outfits. You can find flowy pants, breezy dresses, comfy sandals, and more to pack for your destination or wear to the airport—and all for less than $50. Check out our top picks below, with options starting at $10. This beach dress is stylish enough to wear to brunch or for a relaxing day at the beach. It features a small ruffle at the waist for an elegant look and has pockets for keeping your phone and wallet within reach. Matching sets make it easy to look put together quickly, and this skirt set is proof. It's already become a No. 1 new release at Amazon and for good reason. One reviewer described the fabric as 'silky on the skin,' and a petite shopper said that the skirt was the perfect length for them. The 'non-clingy' fabric is just one of the many standout features of these wide-leg pants. They're made from a soft, flowy material that is comfortable enough to wear on long plane rides, and the two side pockets are handy for keeping small in-flight essentials, like your earbuds and phone, within reach. These platform sandals will elevate your outfits and keep your feet cool with their sleek, open-toe design. The anti-slip sole has extra traction to help keep you stable during rainy walks around a city, and the back strap is adjustable, so you can make sure your feet are secure. Formal cruise dinners and wine tours call for this elegant jumpsuit. It not only has flowy wide-legs to keep you cool and comfy, but the V-neckline is perfect for showing off your layered necklaces and earrings. A cozy outfit is non-negotiable when you have a long travel day, which is where a matching set like this comes in. It includes a T-shirt and wide-leg pants that are stretchy and soft, so you can comfortably sit for hours on a plane without counting down the minutes until you can change. This T-shirt is a summer must-have, with its whimsical patterns and bright color options, and flowy construction. You can easily dress it up with a skirt and sandals while you restaurant hop, or keep it casual with a pair of jeans and sneakers. This beach cover-up is only $20, but one reviewer said it looks 'way more expensive than it is,' while another shopper added that the 'quality is amazing.' We credit the crochet design, petal neckline, and hem for making it appear so elevated. Plus, the material is lightweight, which will come in handy on hot days lounging by the pool. If you're not a fan of tight, denim shorts, try these skorts for instant style and comfort. Unlike jeans, they're lightweight on the body and in your suitcase, and have an adjustable drawstring waistband to give you a cinched look or more room when you get cabin bloat on the plane. If there's one thing shoppers agree with, it's that these flip-flops are comfortable. They come with adjustable straps to help keep your feet secure and extra cushion for arch support. One shopper with plantar fasciitis said they've worn these every day since they got them and that they've helped with walking. Love a great deal?
