Gas leak temporarily shuts down Dayton street
A gas leak shut down parts of Dayton on Wednesday.

Around noon, Dayton firefighters were called to reports of a gas leak in the area of 4300 Hoover Avenue, according to a Montgomery County Regional Dispatch supervisor.

Hoover Avenue was closed in both directions in the area of the leak.
A gas line was hit during construction on a house, but was promptly sealed, fire officials on scene told News Center 7.
The road has reopened.

Jacksonville man dies in Northside car wreck
A 33-year-old Jacksonville man is dead after crashing the car he was driving Wednesday morning. The wreck occurred at about 3:53 a.m. at Interstate 295 and Alta Drive, according to Florida Highway Patrol. The driver was traveling northbound on I-295 approaching Alta Drive in Jacksonville when he took the Alta Drive exit ramp and his car left the roadway and crashed into a tree, FHP said. He was pronounced dead at the scene, FHP said. Officers closed a busy street following a rollover crash in Dayton early Wednesday.
