MAKKAH — The Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance dedicated its full resources to serve pilgrims under the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' Program for Hajj, Umrah and Visit. The comprehensive support includes an integrated system of services, notably 200 daily shuttle trips operating around the clock to transport pilgrims from their Makkah residences to and from the Grand Mosque.
The arrangement is part of the operational plan implemented by the ministry to facilitate the performance of rituals and prayers for the guests and to enhance comfort and ease of movement, ensuring a safe and organized transportation experience that contributes to achieving the aspirations of the wise leadership in serving the pilgrims.
The ministry affirmed that the service contributes to alleviating traffic congestion in the central area of Makkah and enhances the efficiency of movement and transportation, especially during peak times during the Hajj season.

Makkah mobile stroke unit saves Ugandan pilgrim
MAKKAH: A medical team stationed at the Grand Mosque in Makkah successfully intervened to save a Ugandan male pilgrim who suffered a severe cerebral hemorrhage, the Saudi Press Agency reported Sunday. The pilgrim reportedly lost consciousness within the Grand Mosque due to the hemorrhage, prompting an immediate response from the specialized unit. "The Ugandan pilgrim received critical treatment within an impressive 16 minutes — one-sixth of the internationally accepted standard time of 60 minutes for such cases," said the report, quoting the Makkah Health Cluster. After getting emergency care, the patient was transferred to King Abdulaziz Hospital for further comprehensive medical treatment. He is now undergoing rehabilitation and expected to be discharged to complete his pilgrimage. As part of Hajj preparations, a Mobile Stroke Unit affiliated with King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre (KFSHRC) is stationed at the Grand Mosque. The team is made up of a neurologist, cardiologist, respiratory therapist, emergency nurse, radiologist, and paramedic and equipped with advance diagnostic devices. Each year, tens of thousands of Hajj pilgrims benefit from various healthcare services provided by health centers and hospitals in the holy sites. Saudi Arabia deploys around 50,000 healthcare and other professionals to work 24 hours daily during Islam's most important gathering. Last week, a medical team at the Eye Health Center of King Abdullah Medical City in Makkah saved the sight of an Egyptian pilgrim who experienced sudden vision loss.

Grand Hajj Symposium kicks off in Jeddah
Saudi Gazette report RIYADH — The 49th Grand Hajj Symposium kicked off in Jeddah on Sunday under the theme 'Capability in Hajj and Contemporary Developments.' Organized by the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah in partnership with the Council of Senior Scholars and the King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives, the symposium brought together a distinguished group of scholars and researchers from across the Islamic world. Minister of Hajj and Umrah Tawfiq Al-Rabiah inaugurated the event, describing the symposium as an Islamic intellectual platform that unites prominent thinkers and scholars to highlight the significance of this great pillar of Islam and to reinforce its religious and cultural dimensions. Dr. Al-Rabiah noted that this year has witnessed the launch of several programs and initiatives, including infrastructure projects sponsored by the Royal Commission for Makkah City and the Holy Sites. These include 170,000 square meters of shaded areas, the planting of 20,000 trees, and the construction of rubber walkways to improve pilgrims' comfort and safety. Addressing healthcare readiness, the minister cited the establishment of a new emergency hospital, 15 ambulance units, 71 rapid intervention points, and 64 two-story health complexes. He also announced the inauguration of the General Transport Center as an institutional model for managing transportation in Makkah and the holy sites. The plan integrates buses and the Haraman High-Speed Railway into a flexible and efficient system. Dr. Al-Rabiah added that the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque has finalized its preparations through an advanced operational package. This includes upgrades to audiovisual equipment, the development of childcare centers, and services designed to meet the diverse needs of pilgrims and ensure enhanced services. Special Advisor to Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the King Abdulaziz Foundation for Research and Archives (Darah) Prince Faisal bin Salman also addressed the gathering. He emphasized the Kingdom's longstanding commitment to the Two Holy Mosques and Hajj since the unification of Saudi Arabia by the late King Abdul Aziz. He noted that serving the pilgrims has always been a sacred honor, a national duty, and a historical responsibility passed down through generations of Saudi leadership, with citizens proud to contribute to this mission. Prince Faisal highlighted the major infrastructure developments and humanitarian services now accompanying pilgrims from their arrival to their departure. He also announced the launch of the Hajj and Two Holy Mosques History Forum, organized by the King Abdulaziz Foundation in collaboration with the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah. The forum is designed to serve as a scientific and cultural platform that promotes the rich heritage of the Two Holy Mosques and encourages global scholarly exchange and research. Saudi Grand Mufti, Chairman of the Council of Senior Scholars, and President of the General Presidency for Scientific Research and Ifta Sheikh Abdul Aziz Al-Sheikh addressed the symposium through remarks delivered on his behalf by Secretary General of the Council of Senior Scholars Sheikh. Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Hajj Program Guests Visit Kiswa Complex, Revelation Exhibition
Guests of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques' Program for Hajj, Umrah, and Visitation toured the King Abdulaziz Complex for the Holy Kaaba Kiswa and the Revelation Exhibition at the Hira Cultural District in Makkah, as part of a program implemented and supervised by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance. Guests learned about the stages of Kiswa production, from fabric preparation to embroidery. They were also introduced to the raw materials used in the weaving process and participated in a symbolic experience of stitching a section of the new Kiswa, reported the Saudi Press Agency on Sunday. The guests also toured the diverse halls of the Revelation Exhibition, where they viewed displays narrating the stories of the prophets and highlighting the prophetic features from the life of Prophet Muhammad. The guests expressed their gratitude to the Kingdom's leadership for its great dedication to preserving the Prophet's biography and the history of Islam. The number of guests hosted under this year's program has reached 2,443 pilgrims from over 100 countries. All services are provided to the guests through an integrated system overseen by the Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dawah and Guidance.
