Fox News' Life, Liberty & Levin was the most-watched program of the evening in total viewers, while the 7 p.m. hour of The Big Weekend Show was first with Adults 25-54. CNN's encore presentation of Real Time with Bill Maher couldn't sustain the massive total viewers numbers it saw the previous weekend. Van Hollen on Abrego Garcia's return to US: ‘A victory for the Constitution'
Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-Md.) celebrated the return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, a Maryland man who was mistakenly deported and detained in El Salvador's CECOT prison, calling it 'a victory' for the rule of law. The Trump administration doubled down on the deportation, accusing Abrego Garcia, who illegally immigrated to the U.S. from El Salvador in 2011 but was later protected from removal to his home country, of having gang ties. His legal team has denied these allegations and urged for his return to the U.S. On Friday, Attorney General Pam Bondi, after months of fighting against Abrego Garcia's return in court, announced that he was transported back to U.S. soil to face criminal charges stemming from a 2022 traffic stop in Tennessee. 'This is a victory for due process. It's a victory for the Constitution. It should not have taken this long. I mean … the Trump administration dragged its feet for a very long time and ignored a 9 to 0 order from the Supreme Court,' Van Hollen said during a Friday appearance on MSNBC. 'But it's important that Abrego Garcia now come home and have his due process rights upheld in a court of law,' he added. The Maryland lawmaker visited Abrego Garcia while he was detained overseas to check on his well being and champion his release from El Salvadoran custody, which White House officials originally said would never happen. Van Hollen on Friday said that the court battle Abrego Garcia will now face should have been launched prior to his removal. 'If they're now going to take this case into the courts, as they should have, you know, from the beginning, before they just took him off the streets of Maryland and deposited him in a gulag in El Salvador, then that is — that is the due process that we've been fighting for,' he said. 'And, again, not just for his case, but for others. And — and I think that Americans understand that everybody deserves to have their rights, you know, respected. That's what the Constitution is for.' Abrego Garcia's attorney said on Friday that the criminal case is just another attempt to persecute his client. 'This shows that they were playing games with the court all along. Due process means the chance to defend yourself before you're punished, not after. This is an abuse of power, not justice,' attorney Simon Sandoval-Moshenberg previously told The Hill in a statement. 'The government should put him on trial, yes—but in front of the same immigration judge who heard his case in 2019, which is the ordinary manner of doing things, 'to ensure that his case is handled as it would have been had he not been improperly sent to El Salvador,' as the Supreme Court ordered.'

Trump Calls Anyone Who'll Listen to Prove He's Not Thinking About Elon
The White House frantically worked to move forward from this week's blowup between President Donald Trump and his former first buddy Elon Musk. But the frenzied level at which the president insisted everything is all good suggested the opposite. The president did what amounted to a weekday version of a 'Full Ginsburg' Friday morning when he spoke with reporters from across the major television networks and got his thoughts off his chest. It's hard to believe everything is fine when the president was going full-court press with those he has blasted as 'fake' at one point or another. In one brief call, the president spoke to CNN's Dana Bash. 'I'm not even thinking about Elon. He's got a problem. The poor guy's got a problem,' Trump said. But the president's media blitz did not stop there. When ABC News' Jonathan Karl called shortly before 7 a.m., the president picked up the phone. During that conversation, Trump called Musk the 'man who has lost his mind.' He also said he was 'not particularly' interested in talking with the world's richest man right now, despite early reports of plans for a call between the two being in the works. Then there was the call with CBS News Friday morning. The president told the network's Robert Costa he was 'totally' focused on domestic and foreign policy. 'That's all I focus on,' Trump said. 'I don't focus on anything else.' Also Friday morning, there was a call with Fox News, where the president told Bret Baier he was not interested in discussing Musk but got in that 'Elon's totally lost it.' The president's early chats with reporters did not just stop with television networks. He also spoke with one of his favorite papers, the New York Post. During that brief phone call, the president reportedly played it cool and insisted 'nothing catches me by surprise. Nothing,' when asked about the personal attacks on him from his one-time close ally. He also had a brief chat with Politico, a favorite target of criticism of the Trump administration, on Thursday. Of the breakup, Trump said 'Oh, it's okay' and claimed 'it's going very well, never done better.' Perhaps the president really does want to just get past the not-so-beautiful breakup. He also spoke of his polling numbers, inflation, and gas prices on his Friday morning calls. But it was unusual for the president to do such a widespread round robin like the one the world saw Friday morning, insisting Musk isn't top of mind. By Friday afternoon, Trump made another somewhat out-of-character move: he remained quiet. The president did not take questions as he departed the White House on Friday afternoon. It was not the first time he made an exit without seeking out the press. But after fielding calls across the board hours before, it was notable to reject giving more oxygen to their relationship.
