Oman Air and Visit Oman have launched a joint Stopover programme, offering travellers an opportunity to explore Oman's diverse attractions.
The first phase of the programme, announced at the World Travel Market in London 2024, is now live on omanair.com.
Guests can book their global travel journey through Muscat International Airport and pause to discover Oman with a wide choice of customisable packages, accommodation at 3-, 4-, and 5-star hotels, as well as transport, tours, and experiences.
The programme also provides dedicated customer service support.

Oman Air to join Oneworld Alliance on June 30: CEO
Muscat: Oman Air will officially join the Oneworld Alliance on June 30, after completing a nearly three-year process of integrating loyalty programmes, IT systems, and bookings with partner airlines. Speaking to the Observer, Con Korfiatis expressed his excitement about the upcoming alliance, stating, "We are pleased to be joining the Oneworld alliance on June 30, which is just four weeks away. This alliance will significantly expand our network reach through partnerships with other airlines, as we cannot fly to every destination ourselves." "We look forward to offering our customers a broader network through our alliance partners." Korfiatis also mentioned plans to increase flights to London in October, which will improve connectivity to North and South America through alliance partnerships," he added. The airline is expecting new aircraft to join their fleet, with a Dreamliner B787 arriving next week and additional 737 8 Max planes in the next 12 months. These new aircraft will enable growth in the fleet and increased operations, with flights to Amsterdam scheduled to commence on July 1. Korfiatis also mentioned challenges in securing airport slots in India, but expressed interest in exploring opportunities beyond India. Regarding transformation within the airline, Korfiatis highlighted the goal of achieving fiscal responsibility to support future growth. The airline is ahead of target in meeting key performance indicators and aims to achieve EBIT breakeven by 2027. 'Our shareholder wants us to be fiscally responsible because they have confidence in backing us to be able to grow and do more things. We want to grow, but we didn't have the foundation for growth. It's a three to four-year journey. We do have KPIs (EBIT breakeven) which are meant to be achieved by 2027, and we are already ahead of target.' Oman Air flight to Bangkok turned around due to technical issue
Muscat: An Oman Air flight bound for Bangkok in Thailand, was turned around due to a technical glitch and landed in Muscat, the airline confirmed on Saturday. In a statement, the airline said, "Oman Air flight WY815, flying from Muscat to Bangkok on 31 May 2025, experienced a technical issue shortly after take-off and in accordance with safety and operational protocols, had to return to Muscat International Airport." The aircraft landed safely at Muscat without incident according to the airline. "Our guests were disembarked and taken back to the terminal. All guests were accommodated on a replacement flight shortly after. We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience caused. Oman Air cancels flights between Muscat and Karachi
Muscat: Oman Air has announced the cancellation of its flights WY323 and WY324 between Muscat and Karachi scheduled for 10th May 2025, citing periodic closures of Pakistani airspace and airports. The airline confirmed that flights from 11th May onward are expected to operate as scheduled but added that it is closely monitoring the situation.
