Nixa's Naugle records top-10 finish at Boys golf State Championship

Yahoo21-05-2025

SPRINGFIELD–Noah Naugle didn't get the result he wanted at the 2025 Missouri High School Boys Golf State Championship, but he did finish in the top-10, thanks to a sizzling final round.
Naugle opened the second and final day of the tourhament with a eye-popping front nine score of -4. He got tripped up with a pair of bogeys shortly after making the turn, but did come home in three-under after making a birdie on each of his final three holes.
His final round of 67 (-5) gave him a two-day total of 139, which was good enough for a 7th place finish in the individual bracket. It was Naugle's first top-10 finish in the event, and his second year in-a-row medaling at state. He is still the only boys golfer to place inside the top-15 at the state tournament.
The Missouri State commit accepted his top-10 finish with grace, but noted he came to Rivercut Golf Course to win the event, so he didn't achieve his objective. When asked why he chose to commit to Missouri State, he mentioned staying close to home and having a chance to make an immediate impact.

Lake City Fire Company welcomes community for annual carnival 'We're going to go all summer, probably sometime in the fall, we'll be completed with the project. We've been able to raise more than half of the money for it now, we're looking at probably three-quarters of a million dollars. We've been very good stewards of our funds,' said Vossler. 'It will still be high quality, yet we're being responsible with our funds.' Vossler said the old playground will be re-purposed and donated to a school on Erie's east side. Austin McCollum earns second in the Texas-Oklahoma Junior Golf Tournament

WICHITA FALLS (KFDX/KJTL) — Austin McCollum is a name one should become familiar with on the links. The freshman won a TAPPS 1A state championship and recently added a T-O Junior Golf Open Championship division runner-up to his collection. 'It was really amazing,' McCollum said. 'I mean, just everybody around me was so supportive. Being a local kid here, I heard there had to be crowd control because of all the people. It was really amazing.' McCollum started day two, two strokes behind the top spot. By the 9th hole, he had a one stroke lead. McCollum battled with Reed Blacklock, a senior from Lubbock, all the way until the final hole. The duo ended up tying, and they went into a tiebreaker. He ended up finishing second in his debut. While this was not the result he wanted, he knows this is just the beginning. 'I think I can learn,' McCollum said. 'I'm the youngest kid in almost every event I've played in, I'm still right there with every single one of them. That is a really big motivator, even coming up just short.' For the full story, please click on the video at the top of this web page. Copyright 2025 Nexstar Media, Inc. All rights reserved.
