Dental Today Highlights Access To Braces And Hygiene Care In Auckland

Scoop28-05-2025

Press Release – Dental Today
Dental Today, a general dental clinic based in Onehunga, is drawing attention to the importance of affordable orthodontic and hygiene services in improving long-term oral health outcomes for Auckland residents.
The clinic provides a range of options for patients seeking braces in Auckland, including conventional fixed braces and Invisalign. Treatment plans are tailored following diagnostic assessments and regular reviews, with most orthodontic journeys spanning two to three years. Retainers are supplied at the end of treatment to preserve alignment.
Alongside orthodontics, Dental Today's dental hygienists work to prevent gum disease, tooth decay, and bad breath. Services such as scaling and polishing help remove tartar buildup and support overall oral health—particularly for patients undergoing orthodontic treatment, who face added challenges with cleaning around appliances.
Dental Today sees patients from suburbs across South and Central Auckland, including Royal Oak, Mangere, and Mt Wellington. The team emphasises personalised care, patient education, and a preventive approach that supports both cosmetic and health-focused outcomes.
Appointments can be made at www.dentaltoday.co.nz.

Man barred from Kennywood Park arrested after defying order to not return to the park

A man was arrested and is now facing several charges after being accused of trespassing at Kennywood after he was barred from entering a couple of years ago. According to a criminal complaint provided to KDKA-TV, police were notified that a man who had recently been barred from the park was attempting to purchase season passes. Back on August 1, 2023, Terrelle Payne threw brisket nachos at a customer service window, nearly hitting the park's general manager. Following that incident, he was issued an "indefinite official letter of defiant trespass" and was told that he would be arrested should he return to the park. On June 1 of this year, when he returned to the park, police were notified. After being ordered to leave, he began yelling threats at police, including that he would physically assault them. Ultimately, Payne was placed in handcuffs and taken to the Kennywood West Mifflin police substation. While in a holding cell, he continued to threaten police, saying he would cut their heads off with a sword. Police then filled out another letter that stated Payne was no longer allowed to return to Kennywood, as well as Sandcastle and Idlewild parks. Payne signed the letter and was released. He is facing charges of disorderly conduct, defiant trespassing, and multiple counts of terroristic threats.

Man charged with murder of his 71-year-old mother in Belfast

A man has been remanded in custody after being charged with murdering his mother in Belfast. Mary Green, 71, who was known as Marie, was pronounced dead at her home in the early hours of Tuesday. PSNI officers and paramedics responded to a call about an incident in a house on Shore Road in the north Belfast. They found the body of Marie Green inside. Her son, Lewis Green, appeared at Belfast Magistrates' Court charged with murder. The 31-year-old, also from Shore Road, faces further counts of non-fatal strangulation and common assault on another man as part of the same incident. He confirmed that he understood the allegations against him. No further details about the circumstances surrounding the pensioner's death were disclosed. A defence solicitor did not put any questions to the detective or seek bail for his client. Mr Green was remanded in custody to appear by video-link next month.
