Trump Dismisses Third Term Talk: ‘I'll Be An Eight-Year President'
President Donald Trump suggested he won't seek a third term in an interview with NBC News that aired Sunday, saying it's 'not something I'm looking to do,' despite saying in March he was 'not joking' about the potential of running again.

Trump told Kristen Welker on NBC's 'Meet the Press' that he is 'looking to have four great years and turn it over to somebody, ideally a great Republican, a great Republican to carry it forward.'
'I'll be an eight-year president, I'll be a two-term president. I always thought that was very important,' he said in the interview that aired Sunday morning—although he said on the same program on March 30 he was 'not joking' about a third run, even though the Constitution limits presidents to two terms.
Trump revived speculation he was serious about trying to have a third term in the White House about two weeks ago when the Trump Store began selling 'Trump 2028' merchandise, including hats and shirts.

(Bloomberg) -- The US won't allow any uranium enrichment as part of a potential nuclear deal with Iran, President Donald Trump said. The US president has regularly signaled that he thinks a deal may be near, and that Iran could face military action if the talks collapse. His post came after an Axios report said US negotiators gave Iran a proposal that would allow limited, low-level enrichment. Iran hasn't commented on the report. Trump has long pledged that Iran won't be allowed a nuclear weapon. He also said last week he told Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that a military strike on Iran — which could lead to the wider war in the Middle East and push up oil prices — would be 'inappropriate' right now because 'we're very close to a solution.' Netanyahu has said Iran — Israel's arch-enemy — shouldn't be allowed to enrich uranium at all, even to the low levels Tehran says its needs for nuclear power plants and other non-military uses. The Islamic Republic has consistently said it won't accept an agreement with the US that doesn't allow it to enrich uranium to a low level. At the moment, it's processing uranium to a much higher point, almost to the level required for atomic weapons. In addition to the issue of enrichment, Iran says it wants clear assurances of how sanctions would be eased as part of any deal with the US. Washington has not yet been willing to specify how sanctions would be lifted, Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Esmail Baghaei, said on Monday. --With assistance from Arsalan Shahla. On this week's episode of 'The Daily Show,' Jon Stewart covered the end of Elon Musk's chapter with D.O.G.E. and the Trump administration. On May 28, Musk's time as Donald Trump's 'special government employee' came to a close after 128 days. Per the U.S. Department of the Interior, a person can not serve under the title for more than 130 days in a consecutive year. During his time at the White House, Musk led the Department of Government Efficiency, or D.O.G.E., with the intention of slashing excessive government spending. He then cut to Musk's final White House press conference, where he, according to Stewart, looked like a 'guy who had a bad night in a Nashville bar he can't remember,' sporting a 'black eye' and a 'thousand-yard stare.' 'This dude has seen some shit,' Stewart said. 'I'd like to know at least how that happened.' Stewart then played a clip of the press conference, where Musk was asked how he got the black eye. His response: 'I was just horsing around with [my son]. And I said, 'Go ahead, punch me in the face.' And he did.' 'Look, I believe things sometimes do happen when you're roughhousing with your kid,' Stewart said. 'But I'm also sure the one sentence no parent has ever uttered to their child is, 'Go ahead, punch me in the face.'' Stewart added that 'Trump made sure that Elon got something in return' for his service. The clip of the press conference continued, revealing that Trump's parting gift to Musk was a ceremonial golden key. 'I gave him a little special something,' Trump said at the press conference. 'A very special [gift] that I give to very special people. I have given it to some, but it goes to very special people, and I thought I'd given it to Elon as a presentation from our country.' 'You couldn't just give him the fucking key? You had to make sure everybody knows you give them to a lot of people,' Stewart said. ''You know, I've got a bunch of these.
