Man shot and killed after accidentally entering wrong apartment: report
FORT MYERS, Fla. (WFLA) — A man who allegedly mixed up his building number and accidentally entered the wrong apartment was shot and killed last week.
Juan Diego, 28, lived at The Carlton of Fort Myers apartment complex in building five, his brother Miguel told NBC affiliate WBBH. On the night of April 10, Diego reportedly entered the apartment with the same number as his own, but in building four.

The Fort Myers Police Department said Diego, who was armed with a firearm at the time, was trying to enter the apartment. According to WBBH, the occupant inside felt threatened because Diego was banging on the front door.
The occupant called 911 around 11:40 p.m., telling authorities they fired one shot at an armed intruder trying to enter their home.
Officials are investigating this incident as a potential 'stand your ground' case. Florida law states that a person has a right to self-defense if a person 'unlawfully and by force enters or attempts to enter a person's dwelling, residence or occupied vehicle…with the intent to commit an unlawful act involving force or violence.'

WBBH said no arrests have been made as of this report.
Diego's family held a vigil Tuesday night outside of their Fort Myers home to mourn his death and share memories, WBBH said.

"Our beloved dog Zeus was sitting peacefully in the lanai with my dad when he heard a small animal in the backyard," wrote Alkhatib. According to the owner, Zeus "ran out the doggy door to investigate" and "within seconds," the alligator "grabbed the dog and dragged him back into the water." "We rushed outside with a flashlight and were shocked to see Zeus swimming back toward us, wounded but fighting to survive," Alkhatib continued. "My mom waded into the water to help him out, and we rushed him to the nearest emergency vet as he was bleeding heavily from his mouth." One family member recalled the attack to WFLA, "All of a sudden, I couldn't hear him anymore. My dad came in frantic. I'd never seen him like that. He said, 'The alligator just took Zeus.'" "The alligator had just let go of Zeus," Alkhatib told the outlet. "We started yelling at him to come toward us. When he got closer, he got tired. So we had to kind of go into the pond a little bit to get him." Zeus suffered a displaced jaw and multiple puncture wounds to his neck in the vicious attack, according to the GoFundMe page. The page has raised over $6,800 of its $10,000 to help cover veterinary bills. Photos released by the dog's owner show the pooch bleeding from his neck and his injured jaw. Alkhatib called the dog's escape from the attack "a miracle" on her GoFundMe page. "The vet told us the gator had just missed his jugular — it looked like Zeus's entire head had been in the gator's mouth. The fact that he made it out alive is nothing short of a miracle," she wrote. Person who wrote bomb threat on Florida flight sought by FBI
TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The FBI Tampa Field Office is searching for a passenger who seemingly wrote a bomb threat on an Allegiant flight at Florida's St. Pete-Clearwater International Airport. Investigators said the threat was found on Allegiant Airlines Flight #2006's lavatory door on April 25. The flight was departing St. Pete-Clearwater Airport and headed to Cincinnati. The crew discovered the threat while the plane was taxiing from the gate before departure. The person wrote, 'Bomb on flight check cargo. All Allegiant flight.'
