Bronny James set for major new Lakers role amid doubts over dad LeBron's NBA future

Daily Mail2 days ago

Despite struggling as a rookie, Bronny James is set for a big sophomore season with the Los Angeles Lakers, according to one Western Conference executive.
After being selected No 55 overall in last year's NBA Draft, with some obvious interference from dad LeBron James and family friend and Lakers' head coach JJ Redick, Bronny only played in 27 games and 181 big-league minutes.
LeBron James' son was far from impressive as a role player, amassing 2.3 points, 0.7 rebounds, and 0.8 assists per game. That's hardly worth the second-most-lucrative NBA contract of all-time for a second-round pick.
Bronny spent plenty of time with the G League's South Bay Lakers, where his stats improved drastically with 21.9 points per contest and a 44.3-percent shooting percentage.
The 20-year-old James is set to be part of an NBA roster for much longer in the upcoming months due to his impressive developmental-league showing.
'I don't think there's any doubt that's their plan,' the executive told Athlon Sports. 'I know the guy gets a lot of grief because of who his dad is, but we've seen a lot of tape on (Bronny) and the fact is, he was a lot better player in April than he was in October, and definitely in July.'
'He's 20 years old. He had a whole year where his development was thrown all out of whack. But he can defend the perimeter and he showed he can shoot the 3. If he can show that wasn't a fluke, he is going to start getting 10, 15 minutes a night because the team is going to feel like they can trust him.'
'I think he is going to do all that. He is going to be a regular for them next year.'
The Lakers do have plenty of options after a first-round playoff exit at the hands of the Golden State Warriors.
Los Angeles acquired Luka Doncic last season, adding depth to the position where Bronny is best suited to play.
It will be tough for Bronny to ever outgrow the influence of his father. One way to distance himself would be to raise his level of play in front of an NBA audience.

Kris Jenner follows daughter Kylie's lead and makes shock plastic surgery admission

has shared that she and daughter Kylie Jenner share the same plastic surgeon after the 27-year-old opened up about her breast augmentation in 2019. Kris, 69, shared that Dr Garth Fisher was also responsible for her 2011 facelift and called him a 'close and treasured friend.' Kris praised Fisher for performing her first facelift and thanked him for allowing cameras in the operating room. In the comment section of the surgeon's Instagram, Kris wrote: 'Garth you are such a superstar class act!! You did my first facelift in 2011… 14 years ago!!! '[You] made it the most amazing experience ever and even gave us access to film so that others could get a peek inside what it's like and not be afraid… you have taken great care of us always and remain such a close and treasured friend!! Such an incredible talent!!' Indeed, Kris' facelift was filmed for an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians. Kris went under the knife to rejuvenate her face ahead of daughter Kim Kardashian's wedding to Kris Humphries. In the episode, Kris is in tears as she sits in the waiting room surrounded by her children. Clearly getting more nervous before the procedure Kris says: 'I don't want to die.' Kim soothes her by saying: 'Don't be nervous. If you're scared you don't have to do this. I'm sure everyone gets scared.' The children then pile on top of their mother for a group hug before they wave her off to surgery. While recovering from the operation, Kim assured her mom that the results were already positive. She said: 'Mom, you look fab. So gorgeous.' More recently Kris has been rocking a much more youthful complexion that has sparked facelift rumors. A rep for Kris recently confirmed that she sought the expertise of Dr Steven Levine - known as the 'facelift maestro' - to help her achieve her new look, according to Page Six. While the exact procedure Kris underwent remains unclear, the New York based plastic surgeon specializes in 'natural-looking enhancements of the face, breasts, and body' as per his website. Kris' shout-out to Fisher comes after Kylie revealed the surgeon performed her 2019 boob job. In response to her revelation, Fisher said he was 'honored' for the recognition while stressing the lengths he takes to ensure patient confidentiality at his practice. Fisher said: 'I'm honored to be acknowledged by Kylie - her kind post was unexpected but truly appreciated. 'Patient confidentiality has always been the foundation of my practice. Over 3 decades, we've never had a single breach. My entire team is thoroughly trained and bound by strict NDAs and confidentiality agreements. 'This is more than policy - it's our culture.' The surgeon added: 'HIPAA laws are in place to protect patients, and I will never discuss any details of a procedure unless the patient has chosen to share them or given me permission. 'Every patient is unique. This isn't "cookbook" surgery - it's thoughtful, personalized care.' Fisher is famed for being the man behind many of the Kardashian and Jenner family procedures. The board-certified surgeon also did Kourtney Kardashian's breast augmentation and removed a tumor from Khloe's face. He even gave a pre-transition Caitlyn Jenner a revision facelift, which was also featured on an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

Has Tires been renewed for Season 3? Here's what we know:

Renewed or Cancelled? Tires is a new workplace comedy series set at an auto repair shop. It's very easy to binge-watch, and if you vibed with the humour in season 1, you'll feel the same way about this extended follow-up. If you've watched all the episodes in both seasons, you may be wondering if this has been renewed or cancelled. Here's what we know: What is Tires about? Tires revolves around the employees of an auto repair shop which is in danger of going out of business. The shop's manager, Will, does his best to revive its flagging fortunes but his best efforts are often undone by his employee (and cousin) Shane who prefers larking around to doing any actual real work. Season 2 though, includes more small-business, small-town shenanigans, with a mandatory HR meeting going to hell, the hunt for a new manager and a relaunch party includes some pretty surprising We have extensive coverage of Tires across the site, including reviews for both seasons, which you can find HERE! Will there be a Tires Season 3? At the time of writing, Tires has not been renewed for season 3. Generally Netflix would gauge numerous metrics before renewing a show, including how many people initially watch it and then looking at the drop-off rate. With some shows, cancellations or renewals happen quickly. Other times, it can take months before a decision over a show's future is made. So far, Tires has had a decent reaction from critics and audiences alike, with many commenting that the show is an easy binge-watch, has some good characters and the story is simple enough to slip into. Given the way this show is set up, we're predicting that this will be renewed for a third season. The series has plenty of potential and we do know its been a big hit with the streamers. Netflix are generally more lenient on their comedy offerings, and we'd imagine that Tires will follow suit. However, we could be completely wrong, given Netflix do tend to cancel a lot of their series, so take our prediction with a pinch of salt! What we know about Season 3 so far: Barely anything is known about season 3 at this point as Netflix haven't officially renewed this one. Should it be renewed, we'd imagine the antics over at the shop to continue, with plenty more character drama and crass humour to boot. If this series is renewed, we'd expect it to be green-lit with another 12 episode order, with a lot of the old cast returning too. Do you want to see Tires return for a third season? What did you think of the show? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!

Elizabeth Warren claims Musk enriched himself to the tune of $100B during his time in the White House

Senator Elizabeth Warren has accused Elon Musk of using his role in the Donald Trump administration to increase his net worth by $100 billion, issuing a report that cites more than 100 instances in which he might have benefited financially from his position. The world's richest man's 130-day tenure as a special government employee came to an end on Friday, drawing a line under a chaotic four months in which he led DOGE in its mission to cut excess spending, waste, and fraud and oversaw the mass firing of tens of thousands of federal employees. Senator Warren has greeted his departure from the political scene with the publication of a new report alleging large-scale profiteering during his time in Washington, entitled: Special Interests Over the Public Interest: Elon Musk's 130 Days in the Trump Administration. 'Before Trump took office, Musk's companies faced at least $2.37bn in potential liability from pending agency enforcement actions,' her report states. 'Now many of those enforcement actions have stalled or been dismissed.' She continues: 'Musk's companies have received or are being considered for large contracts with the federal government, with foreign governments, and with other private sector companies. 'Musk and individuals acting on his behalf have been involved in dozens of questionable actions that raise questions about corruption, ethics, and conflicts of interest.' Once an enthusiastic Trump supporter who poured $288m into the Republican's presidential campaign last year, Musk has since cut a disgruntled and beleaguered figure, angrily attacking the president's 'big beautiful bill' as a 'disgusting abomination' as it makes its way through the Senate, winning the support of conservative fiscal hawks in the process. Warren makes clear that not all of the instances she goes on to cite constitute lawbreaking but argues that Musk 'violated norms at an astonishing pace' and, in some cases, 'engaged in action that may have violated the statutory prohibition regarding federal employees' participation in particular matters in which a government official has a financial interest.' Her report lists 130 alleged offences in total, one for every day he served, some of which occurred in plain sight, notably Trump using the White House lawn as a showroom forecourt from which to promote Musk's Tesla electric vehicle range and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick advising Fox News viewers to invest in Tesla stock during an interview with Jesse Watters. Warren also gives behind the scenes examples of conduct she argues might have benefited the billionaire, including his recommending changes at Nasa to suit SpaceX and alleged attempts to convince federal agencies to use his Starlink satellite technology, a rejection of which has been mooted as one of the central reasons for Musk's relationship with Trump beginning to disintegrate.
