She was brought to the hospital by her husband, television actor Parag Tyagi, along with three other people. The news of her death has sent shockwaves in the entire film and Television industry.
She became an overnight sensation after the release of her iconic item number song, Kaanta Laga in 2002. With her stunning beauty and peppy dance moves, Shefali gained instant popularity among the youth, which took her career to new heights. She even made it into the film industry and appeared alongside superstars like Salman Khan, Akshay Kumar and Priyanka Chopra in the 2004 romantic comedy, Mujhse Shaadi Karogi.
Although her role in the David Dhawan directorial was brief, it marked her first foray into mainstream Bollywood outside music videos, setting the stage for her broader Bollywood career. In Mujhse Shaadi Karogi, she had an item number with Akshay Kumar and a small scene with Salman.
Apart from that, she also appeared in the Kannada film Hudugaru, which was released in 2011. Directed by K. Madesh, the film featured Puneeth Rajkumar, Srinagar Kitty, Yogesh and Radhika Pandit in lead roles.
Shefali's filmography also includes several TV reality shows including Jaaved Jaafery's popular dance show, Boogie Woogie and Nach Baliye. Not just this, she was among the most talked-about contestants of Salman Khan's controversial reality show, Bigg Boss 13, in which Sidharth Shukla emerged as the winner. Shefali was close friends with Shukla and their bond will truly be missed.
The actress last appeared in Shaitani Rasmein, which also starred Naqiyah Haji and Vibhav Roy. The Indian romantic horror fantasy serial premiered on Star Bharat on January 15, 2024. As for her personal life, Shefali was married to TV actor Parag Tyagi since August 2014.
