EXCLUSIVE: Rani Mukerji reunites with Shah Rukh Khan on King; Filming begins on May 20
After the blockbuster success of Pathaan, Shah Rukh Khan and Siddharth Anand are reuniting on the action-packed thriller, King. Produced by Red Chillies and Marflix, the makers have pulled off a massive ensemble on board the film, which marks the big screen launch of Suhana Khan. King features SRK and Deepika Padukone in lead, with Abhishek Bachchan, Anil Kapoor, Jackie Shroff, Suhana Khan, Arshad Warsi, and Abhay Verma in key roles. And now, we have exclusively learnt that the cast of King has gotten even bigger.
According to sources close to the development, Rani Mukerji has joined Shah Rukh Khan and team on King for a crucial extended cameo. 'Rani Mukerji and Shah Rukh Khan have worked together on films like Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham, and Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna among others, and are now all set for a reunion. Rani Mukerji has been cast to play the part of Suhana Khan's mother, and it's a role which acts as a catalyst for the entire action-thriller in the film,' revealed a source.
The source further added that it's more of an extended cameo, warranting just 5-shooting days from Rani. 'It was a no-brainer for Rani to say yes to Shah Rukh Khan and Siddharth Anand's offer for King. She heard the part, and instantly agreed to on board the film. Rani's track is the heart of King, leading to the emotional depth,' the source informed.
With this, the primary cast of King is locked, and it's a star-studded line-up for Siddharth Anand directorial. The filmmaker is now all set to go on floors with a schedule in Mumbai from May 20, followed by an international leg in Europe. King is looking to hit the big screen in the October to December 2026 window. The film features Shah Rukh Khan as an assassin, taking on Abhishek Bachchan.

Festive fervour grips Jama Masjid's Bakra Mandi ahead of Eid-al-Adha
NEW DELHI: With Eid-al-Adha just around the corner, the narrow lanes around Delhi's Jama Masjid are bursting with energy, excitement, and extravagance. At the heart of it all is the famous Bakra Mandi, where goats named after Bollywood superstars like Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan are commanding prices ranging from Rs 8,000 to a staggering Rs 15 lakh. These prized animals, raised with care and devotion over years, are more than just livestock — they are symbols of pride, patience, and faith. 'It takes three years for goats to grow up... It feels really good. Here, we raise animals and watch them grow. May the Almighty bless humans with the same reward too,' says an assistant at Zaif Quereshi. This year, sellers are celebrating record profits, with earnings soaring to Rs 15 lakh — nearly four times higher than last year's Rs 4 lakh mark — making this one of the most lucrative seasons in recent memory. Bargaining is as normal here as in the Sarojini market, just with bigger numbers. 'One customer tried to bring a Rs 95,000 goat down to Rs 70,000,' said another seller, Asif. 'They ask what we fed it, where it came from, and then quote their own price — but not all deals close.' For many, negotiating is as much a tradition as the sacrifice itself. This time, 'Gangapari' — white in color and in excellent health — is in the spotlight and high in demand. Breeds varying from Totapuri, Jamnagar Bam Doli, Barbari, Malabar, Mewati, etc., are available in the market, brought in from Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, and farther regions. 'At our farm, we feed them grains, cashews, chana, and more. We raise them with care and love. My favourite is Sultan Pahalwan. We have Salman, Shahrukh, Rahamuddin, and many more,' said Jaif, a 13-year-old caretaker. Members of the Muslim community have begun arriving at livestock mandis to purchase goats for Qurbani, the sacred ritual of sacrifice that forms the heart of the festival. In India, Eid-al-Adha will be observed on June 7 this year. The festival is often referred to as the Festival of Sacrifice.

‘Want To Be Kind, Large-Hearted:' Barun Sobti On Future Plans As Producer
Last Updated: Barun Sobti shared that if he becomes a producer in future, he would aim to be 'kind and large-hearted'. Barun Sobti, who became a household name after his stint as Arnav Singh Raizada in the 2011 hit serial Is Pyaar Ko Kya Naam Dun, has carved a niche for himself in the OTT space with powerful performances in shows like Asur and Kohrra. Now, the actor, in a recent chat with an entertainment media portal, talked about his plans of stepping into the shoes of a producer in the coming years. In a candid chat with Pinkvilla's Behind The Success segment, Sobti was asked if producing content is his next aspiration. The actor nodded affirmatively and shared that he would 'want to be a kind and large-hearted' producer. Stressing that he would not make artists work for long hours, the 40-year-old actor said, 'I will think about life more, but I would not make my people work a lot. I think it'll be, like, 8-hour shifts." He further quipped, 'I'll be a producer when I have a lot of money." On being asked whether he would incorporate the typical corporate timing, Barun echoed his belief in work-life balance. He said that he wouldn't mind adopting standard 9-to-5 corporate hours. 'With respect to hours—less working hours, a good life for everyone. We work a lot, and all producers want us to work 12 hours and travel 2 hours," he explained. Addressing the difficulties and challenges faced by artists due to the gruelling schedules, the actor went on to explain how such working conditions aren't good for people struggling financially. 'I would like to make everyone's life simpler if at all some time I become a producer," he added. Barun Sobti is all set to reprise his role in the much-anticipated second season of Kohrra. The critically acclaimed show will premiere on Netflix this year. Additionally, fans of Asur have reason to celebrate, as the actor shared a major update on the making of its upcoming season. In the same interview, Barun revealed that the writing of the much-awaited installment is complete and the team is yet to begin the shoot. It will take a while to go on the floors.
