Police respond to stabbing in Fort Dodge Friday morning
FORT DODGE, Iowa — An investigation into a stabbing is underway in Fort Dodge on Friday.
A 911 call came in at 6:00 a.m. about a male with multiple stab wounds at 414 South 16th Street, according to the Fort Dodge Police Department. When FDPD officers arrived at the scene, they found a responsive male who had multiple stab wounds to his waistline.
Gunshot victim dropped off at hospital, Des Moines police investigating
The victim received initial medical care on the scene and was taken by ambulance to Unity Point-Trinity Health for further treatment. FDPD said the victim's injuries are non-life-threatening.
Investigators don't believe the stabbing happened where the victim was found. They are unsure of the location of the assault.
FDPD said it does not believe the stabbing is linked to two recent shootings, one on Thursday and one Friday morning.

4 teens assaulted, robbed another teen during Norwalk drug deal, police say
DES MOINES, Iowa — Four teenagers have been charged as adults after police in Norwalk say they assaulted and robbed another teen during a drug deal. The Norwalk Police Department said the incident took place on Saturday, May 24 and started with a Norwalk teen conversing with someone over social media about a drug transaction. A plan to meet in the 900 block of East 17th Street in Indianola was set. Court documents filed in the case say the deal was to buy marijuana and a THC cartridge for $50. They allegedly threatened to shoot him and stole his cell phone, an iPhone 14+. NPD said witnesses broke up the altercation, and police were called. The West Des Moines Police Department and the Warren County Sheriff's Office assisted NPD in locating three suspects who were arrested and charged with first-degree robbery, among other offenses. The fourth suspect in the robbery was identified later and arrested. One of the teens had two handguns on him during the incident. The weapons were seized. A preliminary hearing for the teens is scheduled for June 2nd. Fort Dodge man accused of threatening to shoot law enforcement
FORT DODGE, Iowa — A Fort Dodge man has been accused of threatening to shoot law enforcement. Public safety agencies conducting drill Friday at West Des Moines parks According to the Fort Dodge Police Department, an anonymous tip was submitted to the police department stating that someone was posting 'disturbing statements' on Facebook. Those statements included posts where the user said he was searching for a firearm to potentially use against law enforcement and supposed plans to carry out those actions, police said. On Thursday, Fort Dodge police tracked down the user who was allegedly publishing the posts on Facebook and identified him as 26-year-old Daniel William Paivarinta, of Fort Dodge. Suspect in shooting that injured 1 in Fort Dodge arrested
FORT DODGE, Iowa — A suspect in a shooting that injured one person in Fort Dodge last month has been arrested. On March 28 the Fort Dodge Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the 1400 block of 4th Avenue South. When first responders arrived at the scene, they found an adult male who had been shot in the face. The victim was transported to a hospital with a non-life threatening injury. 1 dead in fiery I-80 crash involving semis Shortly after the shooting, Fort Dodge police issued an arrest warrant for 41-year-old Dontay Diekman in connection to the case. Nearly a week passed and Diekman still hadn't been apprehended, prompting police to announce an increase in the reward money to $500 for anyone who provided information that resulted in Diekman's arrest. On Friday morning, three weeks after the shooting, Fort Dodge police announced that Diekman had been arrested. Police said a tip came in that led officers to where Diekman had been staying — a residence in the 1500 block of 20th Place in Des Moines. With the help of the Des Moines Police Department, Diekman was taken into custody without incident. Diekman has been charged with attempt to commit murder, going armed with intent, and possession of a firearm as a felon. Police said the investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
