Next's 'flattering' £28 dress can be worn day or night and 'still look good'
The linen dress is 'perfect' for summer and comes in eight different styles that are easy to dress up or wear casually
Next shoppers have said a linen dress is set to be a "holiday favourite" for many women heading abroad this summer. They say it is versatile enough to be glammed up for an evening or kept simple for daytime excursions.
The V-Neck Ruffle Sleeve Mini Dress with Linen is available in eight style choices, with prices starting at £28 for simple colours like plain white or black and including patterns such as Animal Leopard Print or Red/Pink Wiggle Stripes. For those wanting something with extra flair, there's the Mono Floral print for £30 or the Brown and Black tile print for £35.
The dresses are offered in sizes six to 26, and petite options are also available to ensure an ideal fit for different body shapes. Each piece, made from a linen-blend material, has a V-neckline and short ruffled sleeves.
Next's team pointed out that the dress has a very adaptable style that can be easily spruced up for a formal look or dressed down for a relaxed, everyday feel. While similar items might be found at other retailers, like Very's Embroidered Frill Front Playsuit (reduced to £32 from £40) and ASOS's Wednesday's Girl frill sleeve mini dress (£24), Next's £28 dress has received plenty of praise, reports the Mirror.
One shopper said: "Lovely - looks and feels great for holidays!" Another commented: "Versatile dress which is easy to wear daytime or evening - dress up with a denim jacket. Comfortable fit and true to size. Cool in a warm climate."
However, not all reviews were positive, as one critic pointed out: "I thought it was very flimsy and more like a nightie. Definitely not for my age. Probably better for a young person or over a bikini."
Another cautioned: "Lovely design dress, but so see-through. Would only wear for over a bikini needs lining." Despite these criticisms, most reviews awarded the dress a flawless five stars.
Someone else, who opted for the Red/Pink Wiggle Stripe style, said: "Perfect holiday colours and loose fit for hot climates, a great dress." Another added: "I found my normal size slightly big around the arms but not enough to send it back. Nice feel and generous with the sizing."
And, another satisfied customer shared: "I'm very pleased with this dress. It's good quality and really comfortable to wear. A definite holiday favourite for me."
Finally, one more shopper put: "This dress is ideal for both daytime and evening. Its fit is simple yet flattering. I bought it in black and white, and both colours look fantastic under the Caribbean sun."

Next £10 dress a 'game changer' for anyone who struggles in summer
With a fitted, strapless silhouette and midi length, these dresses offer the ultimate balance between minimalism and ease We've had some scorchers already this year, and summer hasn't even arrived yet. When the heat is relentless - and for me, that's basically anything above 17 degrees - I find getting dressed a real chore. As someone who adores fashion, I really struggle to find an outfit where I'm both comfortable and cool in the heat, but still look stylish - however, I might have just found the perfect solution at Next. And the best part? They're only a tenner. The high street retailer has released a three-pack of ribbed bandeau midi dresses for £30. Effortlessly cool, wallet-friendly and easy to style, frankly, they're a game changer for summer 2025. The retailer has released not one, but two colourways of its bandeau midi dress triple pack. There's a neutrals option boasting black, taupe and a black and white striped version of the dress, as well as a set that features grey, red and lime green for those who prefer to inject a little more colour into their wardrobe. With a fitted, strapless silhouette and midi length, these dresses offer the ultimate balance between minimalism and ease. Made from 95% cotton, with a little bit of stretch, they deliver a flattering, body-hugging feel while remaining breathable - a must when temperatures soar. Plus no straps means no tan lines, no fuss, and no extra heat. Coming in sizes 6-20, the ribbed cotton bandeau dresses that will carry you from a picnic in the park to rooftop drinks without breaking a sweat. As part of the deal, each one works out at £10 apiece. The only downside is that shoppers can't mix and match the dresses or buy them individually. By comparison, Primark's black bandeau mini dress - while a summer staple in its own right - retails at £14 for a single piece. It's shorter than the Next dress and is only available in two shades, and has less cotton in the composition (77%), blended with polyester. Not only does that make the Next version more cost-effective, but also arguably more versatile thanks to its added length and colour variety. It can be paired with flipflops for a day at the beach, trainers for a day exploring in the city, or dress it up with heels and a leather jacket for a balmy summer evening date night. Elsewhere, for those looking for something a little more premium for more formal occasions, the Butter Yellow Bandeau Felicity Midi Dress at Nobody's Child is a beautiful option for £89. But for everyday dressing, especially for those sensitive to the heat, Next's ribbed bandeau midi dress triple packs are a summer no-brainer. Shoppers can get both sets, bagging six dresses for £60. That's your summer wardrobe, sorted.

The NY Liberty is hosting WNBA watch parties at Ginger's, The Bush and more during Pride Month
You don't need a ticket to Barclays to feel the Liberty love this Pride Month. The reigning WNBA champs are taking over Brooklyn's queerest watering holes with a series of official watch parties for their June away games—because when you're part of the Liberty Bar Network, every game is home court. At Park Slope's iconic Ginger's Bar, Liberty fans will gather on Sunday, June 22, at 7 pm for the Seattle matchup, then again on June 25 (10 pm vs. Golden State), June 27 (10 pm vs. Phoenix) and June 29 (3 pm vs. Atlanta). And yes, Ginger's still keeps it charmingly old-school: cash only, killer patio and the kind of regulars who will gladly talk playoff math with you over pool. Meanwhile, Bushwick's delightfully chaotic The Bush will keep the energy high on Saturday, June 14, when the Liberty face Indiana at 3 pm. Known for rowdy dance nights, drag shows and a proudly unpolished vibe, The Bush is where Liberty fandom meets Bushwick queer energy in all its chaotic glory. View this post on Instagram A post shared by New York Liberty (@nyliberty) The watch parties are a natural extension of the WNBA's longstanding ties to the LGBTQIA+ community. The Liberty's upcoming July 25 Pride Night at Barclays is the official glitter-soaked centerpiece, but the league's queerness isn't confined to one game or one month. As Liberty coach Sandy Brondello told Sports Illustrated last year, 'We celebrate [Pride] every single day of the week … all season long.' That ethos shows up in the stands, where fans like Deidree Golbourne (a.k.a. the 'Mayor of Barclays') make Liberty games a safe haven for Black, queer and gender-diverse New Yorkers. It shows up at bars like Ginger's and The Bush, where queer fans—new and old—find familiar faces, cold drinks and loud cheers for Breanna Stewart threes. So skip the sports bar with the busted sound system and straight dudes yelling at baseball highlights. This June, pull up to a Liberty watch party where everyone actually knows the rules, nobody minds if you cry during player intros and the vibe is more queer family picnic than frat party.
