The Prince and Princess of Wales said they were 'deeply saddened' by the scenes that marred Liverpool's victory parade on Monday. William, who is patron of the Football Association, and his wife Kate said in a personal message on social media: 'We are deeply saddened by the scenes in Liverpool yesterday. What should have been a joyful celebration ended with tragedy.
'Our thoughts are with those who were injured and to the first responders and emergency services on the ground. W & C.'
Almost 50 people were injured when a car ploughed into crowds, with four people said to be 'very, very ill'. Following the events during Liverpool's Premier League title parade, the King added: 'My wife and I were deeply shocked and saddened to hear of the terrible events that took place in Liverpool on Monday.
'It is truly devastating to see that what should have been a joyous celebration for many could end in such distressing circumstances.
'At this heartbreaking time for the people of Liverpool, I know that the strength of community spirit for which your city is renowned will be a comfort and support to those in need.

'Our prayers and deepest sympathy are with all those who have been affected, and my special gratitude goes out to the first responders, emergency services personnel and other individuals who rushed to the aid of the injured.'

Medical staff who treated those injured when a car drove into crowds at the Liverpool victory parade have told the Princess Royal they were 'very, very fortunate' there were not more major injuries.

Anne visited the Royal Liverpool University Hospital on Tuesday where she met nurses, consultants and paramedics, as well as representatives from Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service and the football club, after 47 people were injured on Water Street on Monday.
Divisional medical director for surgery at Aintree University Hospital Marc Lucky told Anne the injuries were not 'major traumas'. He said: 'We were very, very fortunate yesterday, I must say.'
And consultant Jay Rathore said: 'Most of the injuries were limb injuries. No life-threatening, we were able to manage them.'

MICHAIL Antonio has released footage of himself learning how to walk following his horror season-ending car crash. The West Ham striker, 34, posted the inspiring clip to his Instagram page as he continues his recovery. 4 4 He titled the video "Faith will overcome all challenges" accompanied by a montage of his rehab and touching moments with teammates. The star was airlifted to a London hospital and suffered a broken leg after crashing his £260,000 Ferrari near Theydon Bois, Essex, in early December. Antonio's crash occurred in Epping on the way home from the Hammers' Rush Green training ground and he underwent surgery on the broken leg that night. Hammers players all wore shirts bearing Antonio's name following their subsequent home win over Wolves, the first game following the crash. Each of those, as well as the match-worn shirts, were signed and auctioned off to fans in order to raise cash. West Ham players and staff all went to visit their team-mate during his time in hospital. The Jamaica international, West Ham's all-time top Premier League scorer, is out of contract in the summer. A decision is yet to be made over whether to extend his deal in order to cover the recovery, though discussions will take place in the near future. Antonio would watch West Ham games weekly throughout the early stages of his recovery to motivate him. The Hammers icon admitted that hearing his name being sung by supporters "helped him massively". He made an emotional return to the London Stadium for West Ham's 1-0 defeat to Newcastle in March.

Top 10 stolen car models in the UK in the last year According to the analysis of the DVLA data from Show Plates World, the top 10 most stolen car models were: 1. Ford Fiesta – 4,446 stolen Ford Fiesta was far and away the most stolen car model in the UK, with more than 4,400 nicked over the last year. With over 1.5 million on UK roads and Ford discontinuing the model, demand for spare parts is high. Older versions lacking advanced security are especially vulnerable. 2. Volkswagen Golf – 1,731 stolen A reliable family car – and a favourite among thieves. Its popularity and plentiful parts make it a common target for theft and dismantling.
